I just didn't get one thing...after the special came out (spoilers!) the woman, forgot her name, saves her husband by pulling him into the time vortex and taking him back home. A man who should be dead is alive.... when that happened in the Season 1 episode 8 "Fathers day", Rose saves her father and that causes a time paradox where the Reapers or some kind of monsters come out of no where to stop the change in time....why didn't it happen here?

You cant blame this for being a crappy episode, of course it is crappy! It's a christmas special, all christmas specials are crappy, that's just how it is, I did like the ending though. I always get happy when i see the Ponds. I'm just excited for the next series.
Meh, it was an alright episode. The actors were great of course... but it didn't really have interesting themes. The story was interesting for the first part mainly. It had its moments, but nothing special ... I just hope Moffat doesn't get lazy with the show.
It would have been so good to done a Daleks back for Xmas-but all we got was this Narnia cobblers. Actually, all we really want is to see the back of the currant production team. They seem dead set on screwing it up!

Why? Why is the BBC allowing Doctor Who to dive so incredibly deep into childish buffoonery! A few good lines, and good acting by Matt Smith, but totally lacking in the high climatic excitement of Christmas specials past.
@DaseinFly Moffat is busy frying bigger fish-'sherlock'. It's a massive ratings hit & he is the golden boy of the beeb-for the time being...Since he took over the show has sucked.
The design work on the king and queen, and Bill Bailey in a spacesuit were the best parts of this episode for me. Unfortunately, it was uninspired writing, with a plot that went no where. I really hated the pilot's contrived return. I really did. I certainly did not enjoy it, but I'm glad some people did--my mother for one. So, Merry Christmas to everyone!
PART 1: ok, the Doctor just left a ship (probibly full of alien life to DIE HORRIBLY) within the first mintues of the episode. I kept my cool for the first 20 minutes(yeah the lion-witch-wardrobe-rip-off), then it turned into schlock; and apparently the only thing that saved the day was the ol' mothers touch?(btw the shape of the ship at th en was a sexul innuendo for the female womb) Oh, and it's a good job the doctor didn't SPLIT the fabric of the UNIVERSE when he saved that ONE guy from WW2!
This was the best ep. i like it when he saved there dad and he went to see amy and rory. Moffat write the best chrismas eps than RTD. Matt the best Doctor. His acting is better every year.
This really was bad! Hope moffat isn't loosing his grip on the show seem to be dumbed down alot compared to his usual storys! Really really disapointed!
It was the best as usual. Steven Moffat has written the best episodes since 2005... 'A Christmas Carol' and this years Xmas special have been the best Xmas episodes so far!! they actually feel christmassy unlike RTD ones. I am glad Moffat has taken over...DW is so much better now!

@ShiroHichigo cont.. There is also an actor named Ben Browder from my all time fav show called Farscape. Have you heard of it? cuz, while DW is my all time fav British scifi show, Farscape is my US one check it out. I'll try to think of more, but since you're from the UK i would love to hear suggestions from you and everyone here what actors they would like. And also the comment you made about Moffat am I correct to assume you haven't liked the past two seasons and Matt Smith? and also

@ShiroHichigo Yeah Johnny really would be great, in fact he would be my number one choice. Imagine if his personality was a combo of Capt Jack Sparrow from POTC, and Hunter S Thompson from Fear and Loathing, of course without the drugs and rum lol that would be perfect. Others that come to mind maybe Jim Carrey? we know that he could pull off the hyper wacky DW personality. Or maybe Robin Williams, who could also pull off the Doctor, but they seem to be going for younger actors since Eccleston

Ummm...what happened to the Lancaster's crew? That's still bugging me. Who lowered the undercarriage? And, landing on a lawn ? Sorry, too picky, picky. Liked the Dr's names though - Doctor, Caretaker, and GET OFF THIS PLANET!! And as for the references to Uncle Digory/Digby, someone is having a laugh.

You cant blame this for being a crappy episode, of course it is crappy! It's a christmas special, all christmas specials are crappy, that's just how it is, I did like the ending though. I always get happy when i see the Ponds. I'm just excited for the next series.

Meh, it was an alright episode. The actors were great of course... but it didn't really have interesting themes. The story was interesting for the first part mainly. It had its moments, but nothing special ... I just hope Moffat doesn't get lazy with the show.

I liked the episode, it was really good. it wasn`t the best episode though but nothing is perfect and the writers are doing their best, it`s hard to please everyone because we`re all different :) I was just happy I could watch a DW episode again

Why? Why is the BBC allowing Doctor Who to dive so incredibly deep into childish buffoonery! A few good lines, and good acting by Matt Smith, but totally lacking in the high climatic excitement of Christmas specials past.

The design work on the king and queen, and Bill Bailey in a spacesuit were the best parts of this episode for me. Unfortunately, it was uninspired writing, with a plot that went no where. I really hated the pilot's contrived return. I really did. I certainly did not enjoy it, but I'm glad some people did--my mother for one. So, Merry Christmas to everyone!

PART 1: ok, the Doctor just left a ship (probibly full of alien life to DIE HORRIBLY) within the first mintues of the episode. I kept my cool for the first 20 minutes(yeah the lion-witch-wardrobe-rip-off), then it turned into schlock; and apparently the only thing that saved the day was the ol' mothers touch?(btw the shape of the ship at th en was a sexul innuendo for the female womb) Oh, and it's a good job the doctor didn't SPLIT the fabric of the UNIVERSE when he saved that ONE guy from WW2!

This was the best ep. i like it when he saved there dad and he went to see amy and rory. Moffat write the best chrismas eps than RTD. Matt the best Doctor. His acting is better every year.

It was the best as usual. Steven Moffat has written the best episodes since 2005... 'A Christmas Carol' and this years Xmas special have been the best Xmas episodes so far!! they actually feel christmassy unlike RTD ones. I am glad Moffat has taken over...DW is so much better now!
