tepidly saying from unitystudios, " glad to hear the song after someone broke into my life", DouglButler, there's more, but nothing without Jon nowaday's. Have safe and blessed holidays jon, love, Doug Butler...
For all those new YES fans or those that say the new Buggles/Drama YES music is superior...listen to this song....probably the last ANDERSON/HOWE creation...The GREATEST SONG WRITING DUO OF OUR TIME!!!
This is Music!!! Try to make this with a "top-forty" band....crap!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Prog. is dying....Shame.....These guys made this album 30 some years after they're first album!!! And it was EPIC!!! The only hope for PROG these days is Billy Sherwood and his band Circa:. Also some hope.....Not the Yes of today.....but A.W.R.....Jon, Rick and Trevor....songs written, ready to record and tour in 2012....More Yes classics!!!
the magnification album is one of their best, and THE BEST of their later works, bar none. I wonder how they will do in the future, yes the future. they will have to replace various members. how will they replace steve howe? not sure it can be done. squire? wakeman? i hope i live to see the metamorphosis.
I LOVE YES! Thank you to Chris Squire and Jon Anderson, for forming their lovely band in 1968.I was born in 1971, so I missed "YES"in their original heyday, however I was introduced to them after Trevor Rabin joined them for "90125"in 1983.I was thirteen years old at the time.I thank God for Jon Anderson and company and their wonderful, wonderful English band.I'am almost forty years old now, and I still love "YES" with all of my heart just as I did as that thirteen year old kid......
This is my favorite from the Magnification disc. The cut offers further evidence of the band's incredibly diverse influences-- I mean, one has only to hear the Stylistics' "People Make the World Go 'Round" to draw the connection. But this type of appropriation was long ago presaged by the overt Sly and the Family Stone influences found in "Roundabout" and "Siberian Khatru".
I somehow missed this CD-Boy what I missed! I can't stop listening to this song and am waiting on pins and needles for my copy to arrive via mail. This is probably the most universal song about love I have ever heard. It can be sung to God, to the love of your life, to whoever you may choose. Stunningly, Magically, beautiful.. My eyes water every time I hear it. Peace
I am a YES, a disciple if you allow me, I am a child from the beginning of their musical journey, for me there are distinctions within the different groupings of musicians. For me the Classic works of the 1970 is paramount but for Magnification, which Jon refers to as a Mater Work in the likes of Awaken and other great works... Magnification is a must have and listened to often. It meanings our so noble to the universal seam of all.
To be Magnified and to Magnify is the work, joy, the journey.
I have been listening to these guys for over 30 years, and they are still at the very top of a very short list. They just get better and better with time, and their music has no age limit. They are truly our modern day Bach and Beethoven's.
One of my favorites from the Magnification Album("In the Presence Of" is my #1 Fave). When Jon and Chris sing the chorus "You are the center of my Day...", It's Magical!A MAGNIFICENT TUNE!

I think for sure that They researched Holst's The Planets when making the intro, particularly the Saturn movement

Maybe the best ending of any Yes song? I really like the coda of "Brother of Mine" but this mantra may have it beat.

What other original contemporary musical force in our time can inspire such bliss than YES when speaking of the Ultimate Force

If Magnification is to be Yes' last studio album, then it is a wonderful way to go out.
