Stir the water create a whirlpool, drop the egg in the center of the whirlpool. if the egg is room temperature cook for 1,5min, if it's coming from the fridge 2min. Immediately put the egg in ice cold water for about 30seconds. This will prevent the yolk from over cooking!
Ive used vinegar and I find it taints the flavour of the poached egg. All I use now is simmering water and nothing else. I dont even stir it, I put my egg in a small ramekin then lower it into the simmering water very slowely and leave for 3 mins. Perfect poached eggs every time
One minute is flat out not long enough, and cider vinegar is far too strong. Just use normal vinegar! It's just an acid to help coagulate the protein, you don't even really need it! Also it's madness not to dump the egg into the centre if swirling water, it turns the egg white back on itself so you dont leave the spiderwebs in the water... Terrible video. Really amateur!
@Marchra I don't know why you got so many likes..you're wrong. I just followed her directions and made a poached egg...and it worked perfectly! Yes, I cooked mine for 2 minutes, other than that, I did everything else she said and it turned out perfectly. I used apple cider vinegar, I didn't swirl the water..and it was perfect..with no spider webs in the water!
I made this JUST now & IT'S SO DELICIOUS!!! And it was easy too! Just keep your eye on the clock & you're good! The vinegar worked like a charm in keeping the eggs together & added some flavor to the eggs!
The only modification I did was I cooked the eggs about 6 minutes, just until the middle of the yolk was still soft because I personally dont like undercooked eggs. The eggs were fluffy & yummy! I may have to make it again for dinner! It's a good way to cook healthy eggs & it's faster!
@BadAssBen78 uhhh im an awful cook...I need to write this down. lol im just a kid i make breakfast in the morning and i need some freakin PROTEIN cuz i run out of energy before lunch running on sugary cereal. I love poached eggs but i didnt know how to make one. I think ill start off with the fried one first...Im the kind of person who makes pots and pans explode =3
@rooneyohyes1 you sir, are a genius! you saved my egg's lives! :D i was always rubbish at poaching eggs because they would just spread everywhere and disintigrate but after that tip you gave i have made the perfect poached eggs! now i can impress the ladies! ;D
Or....save yourself all this hassle, and empty the egg into a cup and bung in the microwave for 30 seconds. Done.

Kitchen Paper? It's too wet to go on kitchen paper, and if you're not careful, it'll stick and you'll be eating something the stores have made.

I never immerse the eggs in the water, I always put it in a metal container and pretty much steam it, I do not like the method used in this video.
10Tuxedo 6 months ago
@10Tuxedo What you meant to say here was 'I never have poached eggs, I steam them instead.' Cheers for that.

Try stiring the water - a whirlpool effect. This will keep your egg together much better. A neater, easier solution!

aqilazuhaini1999 1 year ago
@aqilazuhaini1999 in that case you should stir the water a bit to create a vortex. that will trap the egg white more or less.
