Wave sliding actually isn't used all that much in this, some people use it all the time rather than running which is a tad annoying. They took it out in brawl btw.

Actually, Cape is one of the best Mario players in the world. A title like that speaks for itself. He even has a combo video starring him (that wasn't made by him >__>). And that Peach player is good, it's just that Cape really outshined him.
