@TheHobbgobblin Not really. You can see that the cart's well balanced and running pretty much on the level, and that's one strong goat. A child of eight years could pull it with no trouble.
Ever try to have a discussion with a goat that size over taking medicine, or how soon (like instantly) the feed bowl is to be set down within reach?
Nice! Lovely goat! I had a Toggenburg wether as a kid and trained him to cart. We built a cart, harness, I used a bit then, but now would not; goats mouths are not structured like horses' and a bitless bridle or halter works better. Goats are awesome pets, so versatile!
2. Do you have a bit in her mouth? I have seen some who do it and others who don't.. Wouldn't it hurt the goat if they aren't use to having them in their mouth..?
i love this video. i watched it several times and enjoyed so much. the scenery is awesome and the girls are heartwarmingly polite and innocent. i love dixie and his cart..hushai05 you're awesome man!
Have you made any instructional videos on cart/harness training goats? In your opinion, can any breed of goat be conditioned to haul a cart? Thank you for posting!

Sometimes if you take the buggy whip and tickle them between the back legs it will make them move on better. Very cute video, btw.

1. It's a modified Llama harness. I forgot where I got it.
2. We did not use a bit. My son and I built the cart with the help of Jay Hurley of Hurley's General Store in Shepherdstown WV.
I think he (he's a wether) will be appearing in Speilburg's new movie about Lincoln.
