  • To clear up all of the confusion, this song was meant to be a tribute to Creedence Clearwater Revival which is why it sounds so similar to the 1969 song Green River. By the way, both great songs

  • 10 people have bad taste in music

  • Love this song to death

  • This 1972 song has that Creedence Clearwater Revival-like tune(riff)in it and Allan Clarke(who plays lead guitar and sings)sounds a bit like John Fogerty! Clarke came up with the song's signature guitar riff!

  • Epic intro ...

  • I like this AND the rap my peers listen to. theres no reason why you can't have diverse music tastes.

  • oh man, i was searching so hard for this song. i heard it on the radio so it was kind of staticky and i only caught a couple lyrics. unfortunately it was'nt enough for me to go on. and i was close to giving up but i was looking for some songs that started with a blues sounding riff on yahoo answers and some guy gave the name of it

you will probably never see it but thanks for posting the name of this song up there brother. much appreciated

  • @ledzeppelin27 You're welcome!

  • @ledzeppelin27 Happened the same to me!

  • @ledzeppelin27 So your a Led Zeppelin fan and you didn't know this song? lol

  • @MrBenson3436 it's not like every zeppelin song i looked up had a "if you like this look up the hollies" comment attached to it!

i also was'nt around back then so yeah xD

  • @ledzeppelin27 Lol, I wasnt around then either. I just knew this song because my parents raised me on Oldies and classic rock.

  • @MrBenson3436 sounds like you had some good p's

  • @ledzeppelin27 these are not the original lyrics,. this dick i mean dude changed them.

  • @ledzeppelin27 me too finally i found it!

  • @ledzeppelin27 HAHA! I had the SAME exact problem, so I emailed the radio station and told them what time I heard it and they emailed me back, and here I am. Took me a week in all.

  • @gregcassell it's hard to hear those lyrics on the radio, between static and the hollies lead singer's enunciation it was hard to hear the lyrics, thats what makes the chase fun though eh?

  • @ledzeppelin27 True, I've heard this song several times on the radio and the only lyric I could pick out was "She was a holdin' my right." and the mention of the FBI.

  • @ledzeppelin27 hahahaha same here!

  • @ledzeppelin27 I like your username.. best band ever :D

  • @AscarinVin thank you :3

  • @ledzeppelin27

Me too man! I didnt know any lyrics to search lol I had to sing the medley to my folks to find out

  • Gotta love the classics. KIck ass southern rock is my thing and i live in philly!

  • It took me forever to find this. <3

  • Thank you Life On Mars, this beat always reminds me of Gene Hunt yellin:

    TYLER !!

xD What a character Gene Hunt <3

  • @Iantorchwood94 When this song showed up in Life on Mars, I almost flipped out, haha. Awesome!

  • @czj617 Yeah xD

This song is also in Peter Jackson's Lovely Bones, amazing movie too ^^

  • @Iantorchwood94 i found this song from that movie. the book is way better

  • @im8teennow Yeah, I agree. Powerful book, really loved it, the movie was not bad, but there was something missing..

They are both amazing in their own way :D

  • @Iantorchwood94 probably because the movie cant allow the viewer the time for acceptance and the explanation of it all like the book does.

i must say though they totally NAILED the casting. Stanley Tucci with the moustache and glasses looks like what comes to mind when i think of creepy murderous neighboor

  • this song came out in 1972 what a beast

  • nothing like the way he says "right" from 1:05-1:08 is food to my ears

  • This is cool. I like this. Much better then the rap my peers listen too.

What other classic rock songs are good? I really like them

  • @Chrislav7 Some classic rock bands are the Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, Kansas, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Eric Clapton, Aerosmith, T-Rex, AC/DC, Cream, Jimi Hendrix, Steppenwolf, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Elton John, The Who, ZZ Top, The Beatles, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Pink Floyd, Dire Straits, Bruce Springsteen, John Mellencamp, The Eagles, KISS, Bob Seger, Billy Joel, Bachman-Turner Overdrive, Grand Funk Railroad, Foghat, Blue Oyster Cult, Molly Hatchet, Manfred Mann lots of other ones too.

  • @microsoftflightsim08 Bob Seger is amazing :) And you can't forget The Doors! The Moody Blues are pretty cool, too

  • @1DarkPunk Of course! I just forgot to put them in the list.

  • @1DarkPunk YES!!!!!!

  • @1DarkPunk YOU ARE DAMN RIGHT MAN...The Doors are the greatest band in the universe...Jim Morrison is the master of everything...PERIOD

  • @XxDeadPerceptionxX Agreed Jim Morrison is the true King of rock and roll!

  • @1DarkPunk: Definitely agree, but also gotta love Zeppelin!!! The best Blues Rock Jam Band of all time!!! (Bonham being my hero, lol)

  • @rxsevern Hell yeah! Led Zeppelin rocks!!!

  • Comment removed

  • @microsoftflightsim08 the list of epicness in your comment sir is staggering. May I suggest "Wolfmother" as another to join the ranks. They're new but sound like they're 30 years late to the music industry. Great music!

  • @microsoftflightsim08 Why do always everybody forget the small faces - humble pie!!!!!???? Steve Marriott = Rock God

  • @Chrislav7 The Doors

  • @Chrislav7 all of them bands he listed are great but all u need to know is pink floyd they are epic

  • @Chrislav7 james gang..seems to me... Mountain-mississippi queen. captian beefheart-her eyes

  • @Chrislav7 try Led Zeppeiln man or Black Sabbath

  • @Chrislav7 But if you want things along the lines of the style of this particular songs, I'd suggest these four.

House of the Rising Sun by the Animals

Back Door Man by the Doors

    La Grange by ZZ Top

Misirlou by Dick Dale and the Del Tones

    and more recently

Heavy Soul - the Black Keys

  • @tehUBERn00blet and young money

  • @Chrislav7 Good for you my friend. This is some great music from the early 70's. I'm a head banger but still listen to all the music from the 70's. More power to you. Be your own man.

  • @Chrislav7 - Not all rap is garbage, there's some hip hop music out there that can blow your mind away, but of course you will never hear that on the radio, they only play garbage rap on the radio and that's what gives it a bad name. Another thing...its good to keep your mind OPEN never segregate your mind cause its terrible thing to waste.

  • @Chrislav7 Steve Millar Band. Climax Blues Band. Marshall Tucker Band

  • @Chrislav7 and the Doobie Brothers

  • @Chrislav7 white room by cream

  • @Chrislav7 Just look at the list of suggestions on the side, what a great selection there

  • @Chrislav7 i ran- a flock of seagulls/ who are you - the who / burning down the house - the talking heads /always something there- naked eyes/ you can go your own way- fleetwood mac . i recommend the who-the cars- the doors, just find what you like.

i completely agree our generation is consuming terrible music i dont know where all the talent went. I dont want to listen to some idiot try to make things rhyme that really dont i want some real music lol

  • @Chrislav7 Rap=Crap :D lol

  • i thought they were da ccr..... cool song....

  • 6 people mistakenly hit the dislike button

  • absolutely one of the best rock songs ever!!!!

  • Alan Parsons (later of The Alan Parson Project) was one of the technical engineers at AR then.

Glad u liked the bit of nostalgia provided.

    Nice quality upload.

  • One of the best engineered single releases of that era. The stereo and mono 7 " promo versions sound remarkably contemporary even today. The depth and layered effects achieved therein were later comparative models considered among production bench marks by which simulated reflections and digitally approximated reverberation algorythms were compared musically by developers at Lexicon, Eventide Clock Works, New England Digital and Apogee.

  • @audiomez Great comment! Thanks for commenting!

  • @microsoftflightsim08 yeah even when you dont no wat the hell he was talkin about lol

  • @audiomez Yeah, What you said! lol

  • @audiomez I was thinking the same thing. This song sounds soooo much newer than it actually is. When you compare this to the other Hollies songs, it sounds much more modern. All of The Hollie's songs are great but this one especially stands the test of time.

  • Arguably one of the coolest rock songs ever.....

  • Remeber the Titans Baby!!!!!!!!

  • @Davegrbck2013 yes what a great movie and awsome music in it
