Germany is an extremely well designed country. Bike/moped/pedestrian lanes are everywhere. You don't need a car to live there :-)

yeah in America you need a car unless you live in a big city, and public transportation in most smaller cities is sparse or non-existent.

And if you try to drive something like a moped or some other small vehicle, home made or not you're asking for trouble with the police. if it has a motor it needs to be registered, insured etc.. that's how it is in NY state anyway, we can't do anything -.-
