i like bartoli better (im biased lol) but it is nice to hear an accomplished soprano in this, especially since she does those high note a bit more justice.
What I really like here is the excellent voice acting (just listen to the recitative). Also, in my opinion the voice has a genuinely beautiful timbre, I really can't honestly say the same about Bartoli :P
like i said im a huge bartoli fan and a bit biased, but i did make a comment on her handel cleopatra on here about her sounding a bit....parrotish lol.
THere's a video of her on here singing a vivialdi piece that i need to find again. the piece is played normally but the video is a whole compilation of all of Bartoli's facial features in concert only slowed down. i nearly pissed myself lol.
It's much more contemplative this way than Bartoli's version, her Vitellia sounds completly deranged (the tempo is just a part of the difference of course).
