People hung up on the USA -> Canada debate: Blow it out your ass. We are brothers. We rely upon each other and support each other. Canada is an amazing place as is the U.S. There is good and bad in everything, but to argue which is better is pathetic.
-An American 20 miles south of the border in Bellingham... I practically get the best of both.
This brings back lotsa memories of listening to CFUN from Vancouver, as a skip signal that I could pick up with a 20' wire antenna, strung from my room, out to the power pole, back in seventh grade...when I only thought life was complicated...
Come on people. The song says "Here for a good time". Not "Here to argue the whole time" So I think we should just have a good time, because the sun can't shine every day :)
@amxmachine Quality of living is one of many ways to rate a country. I am not mistaken, stats are from OECD. You completely missed the point, as the the list rates the U.S. as number 7. I was comparing Canada to the States in more than one area to rebuttel @mrblackbelt9 and others in this debate.
I never realised how good this band was until 30 years later!!!! I'm so proud these guys are from beautiful Vancouver. Whata good band this is. Great songs and catchy lines.
Did you know, that this song is actually written for a small town in northwest B.C called Prince rupert? The band went there and enjoyed it so they decided to make a song for it, I AM DAMN PROUD TO BE FROM PRINCE RUPERT C:
@BLUESTAR1000ROX That's a col "back story"! All I know, is I live in Sault Ste. Marie, Ont. Can. , and this song, is kind of the "go-to song, at any stag and doe, or wedding. (always played!) haha!! usually at the end of the night, when everyone's half cut!
higher learning. How high would Canada be? Asking you, you'd probably say number 1. Had it not been for America, Japan may have taken over the world, or Germany may have destroyed many places, or Spain as a country might have finally collapsed in on itself. You, Canada, are a partially french nation, correct? In the early 1400s, the founders of your country depended on the landmass that is America to get to Canada. Had America never been accidentally discovered, you might not even exist. Cheers.
@mrblackbelt9 Sorry, I highly doubt that the countries of Botswana, Guinea Bissau, Somalia, Djibouti, Equatorial New Guinea, Kenya, or any one of the other numerous countries of the world that lack both the resources and place for higher learning are any higher than America, or even yourself.
@mrblackbelt9 Americas good for one thing killing people and screwing their own people maybe just maybe one out of 10 have half a brain American is the ASSHOLE OF THE WORLD
@mrblackbelt9 By that logic, Mexico/ South America> USA and Canada, because it was discovered first? And I'll take free health care and better health care over occupying to foreign countries anyday.
Oh, to add on to what I just said, free medicare isn't necessarily a good thing. It sucks money out of the medical field and gives less chance for biomedical advancement. More water? Good for you? I'd like to see where we are ranked as one of the dumbest countries in the world, because I highly doubt that the countries of Botswana, Guinea Bissau, Somalia, Djibouti, Equatorial New Guinea, Kenya, or any one of the other numerous countries of the world that lack both the resources and place for
Well, Russia is larger than both Canada and the United States of America, yet they are obviously no better than either of us. America is a lot cleaner than you suspect, as you are likely fed the propagated view of American society. I, as a poster, am an athletic boy who knows many different languages and am up for many scholarships because of my prowess. I have a good diet and many friends. Problem, other countries? By the way, your grammar is awful, and our debt is around 14.5 tril.
there is a possibility of any human being an asshole ..so get off the childish 'we are better than you bullshit'.....culture or geographical location does not necessarily mean the human is a waste...good and bad is everywhere...only make your judgement when you have experienced the individual...
now shut the hell up and enjoy the music whether it comes from Canada or the USA
I clicked on this video to listen to this awesome song by an awesome band and of course, because the poster put this song was by a Canadian band, there was a silly Canada vs USA debate. Both countries are awesome. Both have their strengths and weaknesses. Maybe we should actually listen to the words of this song and have a good time with this song :)
and bash the horrible country version. :D
Remember the sun can't shine everyday, so appreciate it!
@dizzyboy5 i think it is hilarious when in the sentence where you call America stupid you misspell countries. By the amount of likes you got (which I'm assuming all the people that liked that were from Canada) a large amount of Canadians are stupid. I will not argue that Americans are fat and a lot are stupid, but still, if you are going to make fun of us you should at least spell it right! Maybe if you weren't outside being a lumberjack you would've learned to spell, aye? N~H~4~L-travian!
Seeing as how we are continuing the ongoing Canada v.s. America debate. American culture is just annoying. plus, having visited 13 states, and all provinces, I can safely say that Canada has more attractive people per-capita. California was the one exception to this. America, you have too many fat people.
Listening to this for my best friend whom passed away yesterday R.I.P. wish you were with me today.... I haope he had a good time while he was here.....
@bloodredsoccer You must be foolish to think Canada depends on USA. And you don't have to be in debt to become a "super power". And Canada's fine with the military it has currently. There is no need to spend billions on military, when you can spend it on things like healthcare and education.
@dizzyboy5 They're in debt about 14 trillion dollars to be more precise. Still not a small sum to sneeze at. I wouldn't say they're stupid, but they certainly are ignorant about other countries.
hey no hating on canada its amazing....and to the americans that think they are better you can't say anything, the best musicians came from the UK and thats from a canadians perspective.
@MrAlpine14 why screw Canada? we're a bigger country than yours, we're cleaner than yours, we have more lakes and rivers than the rest of the world combined, we have free medicare, and america is ranked one of the dummest countrys in the world. yeah you have a better army, but at what cost? your country is in debt hundreds of trillions of dollars. so really.... Screw America!!!
There are good, great, and bad things about every country.Saying Canada is a bigger country and cleaner country than USA doesn't help anything. If Canada was a super power like the USA then they would be in greater debt. For example If Canada had to maintain a serious military defense then how much debt would you really be in? You would be foolish to think Canada would last very long without the USA anyway.
Also "dummest" is spelled dumbest, and "countrys" is countries, idiot.
@bloodredsoccer calling someone an "idiot" over how they spelt something in a comment doesn't make you look any better than the other guy. You said, "Saying Canada is a bigger country and cleaner country than USA doesn't help anything." Neither does name calling. The US is a great country. And so is Canada. deal.
I'm not a spelling freak and usually I don't care about it but I think that he may very well be an idiot. You are right calling names doesn't make me look better than the other guy (every country has idiots). Also I can agree with you in that Canada and USA are both great countries. Deal.

@dizzyboy5 screw america? okay, lets look at your points, you are right, you're bigger. so what? you're free healthcare? yeah, its great, if i wanna wait 4 months to get seen for a broken arm. you're cleaner because you have less people. The US has about 310 million, Canada? a measly 32 Million or so. more lakes an rivers than the rest of the world combined? not that much bud, and whats your point anyway? and america isnt dumb, the human race is dumb. the only reason (continue in next comment)
@Kawasakiforlife7 So you think someone with a broken arm goes untreated for weeks because the health care is free? Where do you get your information from? And I am from Canada.
@Kawasakiforlife7 Listen, you don't even live in Canada. You don't know what you're talking about. I could break my arm right now, go to the hospital and whip out my health card and get treated. As simple as that.
@dizzyboy5 (continuation of last comment) its prominent in the US is because we have so many people. if you put a hundred people in a room, you have a better chance at getting a dumb ass than if you put 10 in a room.
@dizzyboy5 canada and america need eachother. both would be more screwed without the other. both have their advantages and disadvantages. i'm canadian.
@1ostinspac3 Whats that got to do with the song? @cheninec that doesn't even make sense, where i'm from winners help others, not bring them down. also neither of you answered the question what's to gain?

For all you Trooper fans you can see the Boy's in the Bright White Sports car Raise a Little Hell at a free concert on Canada Day, (July 1 2011) in Cloverdale BC. Usually the concert brings in about 100,000 people.
I played this song as I quit my very first radio gig, live on the air, in Yellowknife, northern Canada. That...was a good feeling. Terrifying, but good.
Trooper played at the Stardust Roller Rink as well as Sweeney Todd, when I was young and at our high school dances..BC has sure knocked out some damn good artists...
@mchlmclean6 FOR REAL!!!?? No word of a lie, My community is Called Prince Rupert here in Edmonton, I swear to god, look it up on google maps 113ave and 113street Edmonton AB
im 14 years old, and my dad just past away. this was his inspiration, his motto, and his most favourite song. He always said to this play it at his funeral, i always "definetly will", i just never imagined it would happen so soon. He lives in Barbados, so when i fly down there with my family for his funeral, this song "definetly will" be played!!
@leafsyo11 you are actually the biggest fucking prick in the world, i hope you get hit by a truck and someone gets it on tape and posts it on youtube so i can go watch it the put nice long comment on it about how funny it is and then im going to put a thumbs up while your going down in hell

Terrifying, but good.

im 14 years old, and my dad just past away. this was his inspiration, his motto, and his most favourite song. He always said to this play it at his funeral, i always "definetly will", i just never imagined it would happen so soon. He lives in Barbados, so when i fly down there with my family for his funeral, this song "definetly will" be played!!
