Sorry , I'm korean . Hyundai is good car company to out side of korea their made good quality car for international version, but almost korean know about Hyundai was got money to Korean. It was famous in korea . I knew Hyundai is good car but Hyundai should change that system . Why I reason of Korean doesnt like that company because Hyundai sell the car in Korea more expensive than USA . USA version is more good and got good option!

This car is a stunner! At a time when Honda and Toyota seem to be clueless where to go with their civic & corolla, Hyundai seems to got this segment well sorted out . This car would be far superior to the 11th gen corolla or the 9th gen civic. BMW with its X1 was preparing us for a new shape. Hyundai with the Avante has hijacked this pg. If the X6 was an SUV trying to dress up in a sedan silhouette, then the Avante is an MPV in a sedan silhouette. ;-)

Looks like an improvement. I really like the front end design. It's nice to see another car company rising in the competition. I've always thought that South Koreans are way over-looked on there potential. When people think of technology, they always think of Japan first, but the South Koreans do there part too (examples: Samsung and LG). An honorable mention goes to Taiwan as well since they pretty much make every motherboard out there.

I'm not a Hyundai hater, nor am I crying but there are a few things Hyundai can do: First off, keep prices down. Second, come out with a 'GT' version of this car and the Accent..a turbo would be nice, especially in the Accent hatchback. 3rd, do away with the timing chain in the Accent. Toyota has not belted it's weeny 1.5 liter in ages so what's taking you so long? Aside from that.. Keep up the good work Hyundai.

Then you clearly don't know anything about Korean design and engineering. Nor organic fluid design at all. Most exotic cars produce such curves that gives them that elegant, exotic look. You're clearly putting criticism where it isn't due.

Also, the Elantra will depreciate their value less, and less, unlike Honda.

Hyundais just rub me the wrong way because they go all out with their lines. It doesnt make the car look any better. The perfect balance between being eccentric and elegant is where you create a timeless design that never looks old (porsche) If you have radical designs, they will get dated, FAST

It's really just another class of car that shouldn't be fitted into the runner-ups of Chevy, Ford, Honda, Toyota, and Mazda. It's another level of car, and not under them. :P

Especially the 40mpg, the fact that it's roomier than most compact cars, roomy enough to be considered a mid-size car, with tons of high-tech features like touch-screen navigation, smart engine start button, leather seats, hands-free blue tooth, ipod connectivity, etc.

@FredEval71 - Actually I own a 2007 Mazda 3, 2.0, & it's a damn good car, that gets pretty good gas mileage. while I definitely will consider the Hyundai Elantra when I look at new cars in a few years, I still would consider another Mazda 3. Also, Ford used to own 33% of Mazda, but during the big auto crisis of 2008, ford sold most of their interest in Mazda. The one sore spot with this new redesigned Elantra is that it no longer has independent rear suspension, as the previous model had.

I think that Hyundai is definitely building some fine cars this time around; not that they haven't, of course. This new Elantra doesn't happen to be anything short of good looking! However, when it comes to the front, I think that Hyundai had taken some design cues from its new Tucson. Regardless, this car looks pretty good and I am most certainly looking forward to seeing it on American roads whenever it comes out!
