Loved the pictures of Jim Elliott and the words about his wife and daughter going to live with the Acca's. without fear. Certainly was moved by the words; "many battles left unfought!"and yes when the saints go marching in...I also want to be one of them.
I love this song, but I have to say I really like the version on the Freedom CD a lot more than this one. It really hits my core self more than this "pumped up" version.
I love this song it reminds me that the Saints (us Christians) still have the most rewarding march to come i.e to enter heaven. I thank our God for His plan of redemption through our Lord Saviour Jesus Christ. Thankyou Sara for a beautifully written song that describes the daily struggles of a Christian life- we will only find peace when we rest in Him.
@Trinitylover I agree with you about the United States military. I don't think they at all deserved some of the comments the original video received. Thank you for commenting
@caroline1233321 I'm glad to hear that. You seem to understand that the fundamentals of Christianity are not about religion, but about the relationship we share with Jesus/God. I'm glad to see someone so adamantly state that. I agree (although to avoid confusion, I call myself Christian. I find most Christians aren't religious either anyways).
You've already done a great job with this video, but one thing most folks don't know about Sara is her and especially her family have been heavily involved in Prison Ministry. Sara grew up in Springfield, Mo. where her grandparents visited the U. S. Midical Center for Prisoners every week for 40 years. Sara performs there often when time permits.
I awoke to find myself nearly sobbing this morning, and realized this song playing on the radio had awakened me! I find it so powerful, esp. the line about Jim Elliot, etc.
(Btw, Steven Curtis Chapman wrote another good song about him & his fellow missionaries called "No Greater Love".)
@t4soshine There is a great book about Nate Saint its called "Jungle Pilot". I like what Jim Elliot had said "He is no fool who gives what he cannot keep in order to gain what he cannot lose."
When I heard this song it gave me goose bumps!! This is a very inspiring song!! Thanks for commenting all the interesting tidbits about Sara Groves and this song!!
Although I am ashamed to admit it, I don't know who the girl huddled on the brothel floor is...I'll come right out and ask; who is the girl huddled on the floor and the man of passion kicking down the door?
@TheHellee Sara Groves had been committed to the helping those caught in the modern day tragedy of child slavery, prostitution, and sex trafficking. I'm not sure who the man of passion is but I would suspect it is someone who is acting in the name of Jesus for these children.
@beanscot Well said. Anyone who is acting in the name of Jesus for these children. One such example that comes to the front for me is Gary Haugen, Founder: International Justice Mission; a human rights agency that secures justice for victims of slavery, sexual exploitation and other forms of violent oppression. He and others who can't stand for such injustices to human life rish thier lives daily to literally kick down those doors to set victims free and bring thier oppressors to justice.
@TheHellee I saw Sara Groves a few weeks ago, & she spoke about this song before playing it: she supports the International Justice Mission, which is a Christian human rights organization that goes to countries & works within the laws already on the books to bring justice to marginalized groups, like victims of human trafficking. The young girl huddled on the brothel floor is a victim of forced prostitution; the man with passion kicking down the door is a lawyer from IJM coming to free her.

Wow, AWSOME! thanks for bring this song to life for me, I was following on the Lyrics when you were showing the pic and saw the comments on the Missionary's with there pic.....I think I watched this 3 x's in a row and now these words are so real......God Bless them...
i see the long quiet walk along the underground railroad i see the slave awakening to the value of her soul
i see the young missionary and the angry spear i see his family returning with no trace of fear.
You are probably referring to Jim Elliot.. He was martyred in 1956 with four other missionaries in Ecuador. Nate Saint is also pictured. They were trying to reach the Waorani people for Christ. The movie, "The End of the Spear," tells their story. The book written by Elizabeth Elliot, "Through Gates of Splendor," is excellent..
It is Jim Elliot, one of five missionaries killed by the Auca tribe in Ecuador in the 1950s. His wife and later went there to evangelize and work among the people, which is referenced in the song.
I love this song, it puts alot into perspective, we get overwhelmed at times and it's easy to want to turn our backs on God however, this is the time when we should fall to our knees, or raise our hands in praise because it's during our trials and tribulations that God shines. Hold firm my dear friends, we shall soon be going home. I want to be one of those saints to march through the Pearly Gates.
Sara was introduced to the need for justice at an early age. At 3 months old her parents took her to a Christmas Eve Service inside a Federal Penitentiary in Springfield, Mo. Sara's great-grandmother, Mom Carter was a volunteer as were her grandparents, Lloyd and Nita Colbaugh.
I love Sara Groves, LOVE this song, and am so excited about this video !! It shows Harriet Tubman as one of the saints and she has been my hero for 14 years since I was a teacher and first read about her ! Such self denial...I try to follow her example...I am a missionary in France, American. Thanks for this encouraging clip !
Thank you for posting this. It blessed and encouraged me. When Sara Groves combines her Christian convictions with her awesome songwriting the result is truly marvelous. Your thoughful video brought this old geezer to tears.
It is a few of us that we could really know what Sara went through in her experience. I share the same. Because I saw what I saw happening in Kenya a 10 months ago. She is speaking to the many of us. Only few tie in with her encounters. God bless her and the many that are working for Christ in DRC, Charlse, I have you in prayers!!
Beautiful. Thank you for adding pictures of Jim Elliot, Joni Earackson Tada and my most favorite, Amy Carmichael. True servants of the Lord. Someday we will surround the Throne of God and worship the Lord together! Until that Day! Maranatha!
What a blessing to watch and listen. I pray when my time is up.... many will stand to say... she was one of them! Thanks, beautiful... just beautiful!
Love the words in the description. Amen!
