I absolutely love this song and all of "Pony Express Record". That album is so eccentric and dark, and probably above all, dissonant.
I honestly like Mind Science of the Mind more, though. They're most definitely my favorite "side project" ever (by the way, does anyone know where I can find their lyrics?).
Anyway, this video makes me laugh. Especially the guitar solo, and how the video leads up to it. It's made to seem really important that Nathan walks through that hallway, and out the door
This song and the album it's from still sound so fresh! Could have come out yesterday. For me 'Pony Express Record' is one of the most under-rated albums of all time. Caned it back in the day and can still listen to it all day long. They had charisma, wit and talent - why the fuck weren't they huge? Thanks for posting, this was briefly available on a record company site that's since been scrapped, not seen it for a few years!
@fishfingerrr I could NOT agree more...to me(and I've told Nathan and Craig this personally) Pony Express totally changed how I listened to guitars in bands. It's criminal that the world were not ready for them....Shudder should have been giants...they are to the people cool enough to know better.
Fucking awesome. I love youtube because Ive never seen this. never even knew there was a vid for it. Before this record, I never knew such dissonance could have the sophistication of a really good suit. thanks for the upload!
I played in a metal band, but we also loved these guys. Here's a cover we did of this tune in '97: /watch?v=T4nJa26sJ3w&feature=related

Is it just me or is there a twinge of STP's "Music from the Vatican..." influence or vise Versa? Hmmmm

Just got into this band as of about 4 O'clock in the morning, and I can't think of a single better way to spend my time.

No wonder the video is hilarious. It was directed by David Wain (The State/Stella/WHAS).

Michael Patrick Jann was a writer on the State also.
