  • did you film this with a toaster?

  • does the black need to be GLOSS ,FLAT or SEMI???

  • I think he needs a couple more phones to clip on his belt

  • To all that dislike this, i haven't seen real carbon parts that fit perfect, you get a lot of gaps, uneven body lines, yea its lighter but for most street car and bikes it doent matter much, id rather have original parts painted and cleared, that way everything mathes up nice. Great job Ed, thanks!

  • HELLO EVERYONE IM STARTING A AIRBRUSH SHOW ON YOUTUBE FOR FREE. ILL SHARE SECRETS OF HOW TO MAKE YOUR AIRBRUSH PAINT. AND HOW TO DO PORTRAITS RIGHT. AND EVERYTHING IN BETWEEN. COMING OCTOBER 1st. :) :)

  • bunch of hullbilies on the carbon fiber bandwagon

  • i love it when u get haters for doing something they cant

  • @j4ym4t16 Lol. Fake carbon fiber is very hard to do. Get real carbon fiber. The whole point of carbon fiber is its lighter and stronger than metal.

  • id only paint the roof cf.. but id buy cf back hatch and hood!!

  • amazing work

search: Body Painting Snake Man HQ - Dean Kleven

  • Thanks for the how-to video. A closeup of the finished product would be nice. How did the final project look?

  • Well at least the only person stupid enough to get this done to their car is a ricer, yes I know my name is Hondafanatic17 but I'm a fan of the motorcycles not the cars.

  • you people really understand english or is latin or russia language? airbrush(means painting with compressed air) if you don't know what to write you better go and die, i think he did better job where is your own clip good for nothing all you know is to condem peoples work domp heads

  • Mr. Hubbs, First month into airbrushing I picked up a job. A football team wants all there football helmets painted to look like carbon fiber ( 60 helmets). How would I stretch the mat around the helmet without wrinkles. I never sprayed the carbon fiber and I'm a little nervous about doing it. Any tips?

  • poor hatch

  • where to buy it like a DK's Web site :D

  • 0:24 If you want carbon fiber to look real, YOU FUCKING BUY CARBON fiber. Go hard or go home.

  • @solidus311 true but don't disrespect what the man did dumb shit

  • @cb7tuner320 Since you favorited this video I'm going to assume that you're the guy's girlfriend.

  • what if i want pick carbon fiber!

  • the world of FAKE

  • and after all this messing about & cost, you might aswell pay for a panel made from the real thing, makes no sense to me :s

  • @reverendkrv You have never priced a carbon fiber hood or fenders.

  • U nich przecież też jeżdżą samochody z rejestracją SKL SLU albo OKL w końcu to ich stany: Słoneczna Kalifornia Słoneczna Luisiana albo Oklahoma...

  • shinanigan

  • You know for the all the trouble you might as well buy those Pilot Auto carbon fiber holographic stickers from Autozone.

  • I have plenty of REAL carbon fibre parts, here at home, from real Formula 1 cars. I know what carbon fibre should look like. Therefor I advice to use a very dark shade of silver instead of ordinary silver, like the one you use. Mix 3 parts of black with 1 part silver. Instead of a clear coat, use "smoke" (that is: transparent black) for a realistic and glossy finish.

  • Lol someone knowingly and willingly paid to have them do this to their car.

  • you can lay real 5oz carbon for about 6$ a square foot including resin... but you would have to do a LOAD of sanding and still have to clear coat it. Then you would have the "look" but it would just add weight since it's a "cover".

  • @sytrept who cares about the weight?

    maybe harley davidson company hahahhah

    or Rolls Royce :-]

  • i prefer matte black than this fake carbon.

  • this looks absolutely crap... always hated stupid look of painted carbon on motorbikes bits, Fkin gross.............

  • you gotta be fucking kidding me!

  • oh yay only if it took the weight off of it also xD

  • There are far worse things ricers do to their cars! This, if done properly does look pretty nice with a clear coat. Its just a paint job just like flames, real flames look way cooler than paint also but some people are happy with simulated paint jobs. Even if you replace your light weight aluminum hood with a real carbon fiber hood how much weight are you really saving? Not worth it if you ask me.

  • Why all the criticisms? This is cool! The carbon fiber "look" may not be for everyone, but overall, it's an eye-catching look.

  • I really don’t mind this, and I am not a ricer! Carbon fiber bonnets are illegal here so if your after the look of it why not?

  • lame lame wait did I said lame

  • Ive has 3 carbon bonnets and over time they fade and the material starts showing id rather paint my hood regardless what haters say this video is for those wanting to spray so go tell someone who cares about hating carbon spray - GREAT VIDEO!

  • Increased performance - FAIL!!

    Increased douche factor - WIN

  • Spray carbon is just for people who can't afford real carbon on their cars.

  • @chiefwhalop funny thing is, people will pay the same price for someone to paint their hood carbon fiber as they would for a real fiber hood.

  • hey!!! this can be used as a custom paint for electric guitar!!! + sprays another extra 5 clear coating paint..

  • i rekon it looked sick.good job

  • So stupid..

My brother has a carbon fiber bike, and it's way "deeper" than that.

maybe you guy's don't realize it, but once you se real carbon fiber, you can spot a knock-off in an instant

  • what a waste of paint and time and hood

  • thats what you call made in America with retards for retards ,,,,painting something so it looks like something else,,yeah thats bad ass,FAIL

  • @favthings oh yeah the first part of that comment definitely made sense. maybe it would've made more sense if you added "eh" at the end...

  • Classy! Like the carbon-fiber bike I bought for $75 at Walmart.

  • nah....don't show us a close-up or anything.

  • what song plays in the beginning?

  • Hubbs Rules.

  • Too bad the resolution of the video is so low. Hard to see the fine detail that is supposed to be the point of the video.

  • for all the hater, IT'S CALLED CUSTOM PAINTING! what asshat expects to really gain anything by forkin out the cash to lose a few pounds? wanna lose wait? go on a diet. beside all yall haters probably couldn't paint by numbers!

  • man ur a retared cunt,ur worse than a nigger climbing a tree..buy a real carbon fiber u cheap red neck

  • @nigelw28 lol.... seriously

  • @yumyumluckycharms im serious brodd

  • @nigelw28 And I suppose people that want flames on their car should really set their cars on fire?

  • @lightningstruck93 Wells said mate :)

  • Menuda mierda, es el quiero y no puedo del verdadero espíritu racing.

  • @soniclithium jejejej tienes toda la razon, por los precios se deberia llamar carbon celestial, si parece que ha venido del cielo...lol

  • wow, what a ricer.

  • damn he looks pro with the phone in his backpocket, did i studder?

  • hey cool vid. my mate is after a carbon fiber xbox with water droplets and flames.

whats the best order and how would i mask it? please comment

  • @airbrushingman well to do water droplets the best is to acually use water droplets. Drop some on there and paint it then let the water dry it gives it a really good effect. also the combo of CF flames and water droplets is gay

  • Only Hillbillies.....

  • Hmm I don't know. Looks a bit crooked to me ? As far as I could tell from that five second flash show at the end. Would like to see it for real...

  • you idiots writing in should go find something else to do....Ed is a great kustoms guy...he's not selling your crap carbon fiber toys for your little cars...he's showing an awesome way to make something cool with paint....not trying to sell you a carbon fiber product which by the way won't make your mother's car go any faster anyways....get a life...and stay the hell off youtube...

  • mi pare una tamarrata bella e buona. American style...

  • good idea guys, but this is something id paint my airsoft gun with, not a 30,000 dollar car

  • lol @ the hick hand spraying with 3 phones on his belt

  • LOL @ the hick spraying with 3 phones on his pants

  • @chlanman lol@ you looking at his ass coz I didn't notice.

  • this is dumb. painting on carbon fiber is complete rice. if you really must have a carbon look, get the real deal

  • ohhh i get it they're making it look like a carbon fiber body part..wow that's like another skill that ricers going to use and brag that they have a carbon fiber body..lmao

  • its very obvious that this vid is about "airbrushing" a carbon fiber, not installing one. you people are d idiots. your just jealous that you can't even draw a stick figure of yourselves. this guyz great... they are trully artists...keep up the goodwork...

  • I think Carbon Fiber sucks ass, once its scraped out... everything goes down slowly. I rather have the Strong FRP or Titanium than Carbon Fiber. I have a Body Kit Carbon sucks...

  • you're comparing titanium to carbon fiber?

  • @supertrex2 I'm With ya, bro. For non-structural parts, CF is a waste. Hell, even some structures, metals are still better. Example: Any aero-surface that is subject to impact damage - Bird strikes, hail, etc. CF looks cool, but making body parts out of it offers only a few ounces of weight savings over a fiberglass sandwich-core part.

  • This tecnique looks awesome in real life, dont talk smack about it till you see it in person. looks just like the real thing! great job!

  • very helpful thankyou

  • people are making parts by carbon to make it light and strong.... not to make it looks "like" carbon because of... For me it's AGROTUNING for village people. Sorry to say that but it is.

  • @ALIOSZACAPONE car parts whether its sheet metal or structural are designed to absorb collision energy around the passenger compartment, not splinter and crack like a piece of glass

  • @slicxric So....well... if it's for a Hollywood looks, it's ok for technology it's totally fucked up

  • @ALIOSZACAPONE a ty z polski jestes kraju wieśtunngu po słowie agro da sie poznac :)

  • @ALIOSZACAPONE I completely understand where your coming from but there are plenty of people who would want the "Carbon Fiber" looks because they like the look.

(and it's cheap) but like I said I strongly agree with that statement.

  • @ALIOSZACAPONE What ever you think about real or not real carbon, this video is to teach airbrushing so if you where an aspiring air brusher like ed hubbs you would want to learn everything you possible can, you be dumb to say...Oh this Fake Carbon is dumb so I'm not going to learn this part about airbrushing.

  • @ALIOSZACAPONE yeah my friend but other may have not money to buy a carbon part...a hood cost over 5000$ and that is cool...i think..if you want to look yuor car like carbon..it is pretty smart... although you have a little right.. but..

  • @ALIOSZACAPONE Carbon is EXPENSIVE!!! Paint isnt.

  • CARBON PARTS ARE EXTREMLY STRONG AND LIGHT. PAINT ISNT. THATS THRUE. I HOPE NOBODY WHO PRODUCE PARTS FOR AIR CRAFTS FROM CARBON WILL NEVER THINK THE SAME AS YOU. IF YOU WILL PAINT THE MOTORCYCLE HELMET FOR CARBON LOOKS AND SELL THIS HELMET AS CARBON MADE ON EBAY YOU WILL BE NOT PAINTER BUT KILLER AND CHEATER THAT THINK I'M WORRY ABOUT WHY CANT YOU GET IT?

  • @ALIOSZACAPONE Painting is an art form... you do what you do because you can... not because you have to or its the only/best option...

  • @ALIOSZACAPONE wątpie,żeby w stanach akurat kojarzyli co to jest agrotuning

  • @ALIOSZACAPONE even though the video is for car painting im going to use it for things you cant get in carbon fiber like a wood desk and tv stand and stuff like that

  • @toomuchockey You are going to paint your car so it's ok with me. You can do with you own everything you like to. But if you gona paint it carbon looks and sell as a orginal carbon frame... It will be not ok.

  • the carbon fiber fabric + resin finish is a good knock off though

  • @wrxstiawd if you knew what the hell you were talking about, which clearly you dont, why dont you check out some of his other videos where he uses this carbon fiber technique to make designs and graphics that you CANT get with real carbon fiber... and no, real carbon fiber isnt beautiful... it looks like shit... when done in graphic design in small doses it looks good, but having entire carbon fiber panels that havent been painted makes you look like the cheap douchebag you probably are..

  • @godofm3tal1 Real carbon fiber looks much better. And painting is the cheap option. Rea carbon fiber is hard to make and therefore expensive, but it's also very strong and light. Just see cars like the Pagani Zonda R that have the whole body made of carbon fibre without paint

  • @ricardjorg gotta love how you just dictate it all... "this looks better because i said so"... pretty arrogant. Personally, i think carbon fiber looks like shit no matter what you do with it. Though in small graphic designs i think it is a fun way to spice up your paint. Ive seen Ed use it on checkered flag body stripes, and it came out nice. An effect you cant get with real carbon fiber. its meant to be lightweight, not pretty. and yes, paint can be a cheaper option, depends what you do with it

  • @godofm3tal1 Have you ever looked at real carbon fiber? Carbon fiber is to paint like an amber mosquito is to a photograph. Its a fine weave of graphite that hardens with lots(!) of heat and pressure. And it's not flat like paint. It has texture that only get's smooth with the clear coat. And from each angle you look, different fibers shine, making an amazing looking material

  • @ricardjorg dude, you cant tell me what i like... you cant tell anyone else what they like... all you can say is that YOU like it... and all i can say is i disagree. period. i think it looks tacky. an entire car, or even just a hood that is just solid carbon fiber looks like shit to me. i think the car should be painted. but on cars like the zonda, they dont paint it because all the gallons of primer, paint, and clearcoat equal weight on the car that they want to keep off. the delorean concept

  • @wrxstiawd this is not for to sell to stupid people but to pure people!

  • what is the step 3 that i don't understand?

  • form your toners is 92m the smallest silver metalic. i (sadly) use sherwin. im not familiar to your toners

  • a good thing to do if you dont got money but nope i would take real but thats good to for the look

  • The real thing would be nicer of course but cost way too much.

CF vinyl would be my next choice, no mess, simple to apply and if you mess up just peel off and start again.

Spraying would be my last choice.

It would need to be done by a pro cos it would be so easy to mess it up then it would just look like crap.

  • yah would be easy to mess up if youre a nub

  • Do this if you don't have the budget to buy a real carbon fiber. Go for the real thing!

  • thats cheating! But it looks pretty cool. props

  • neat work..pretty kool..;hey i'd really like to have a large piece of carbon fiber mesh..about 1.5meters x 1 meter..where do you thing i could fine that..cause before on the fullblownkustoms site it was sold but i can't remember in what dimension.

  • hy. can you please tell me if there is a online store where i can buy the mesh that u use to make the CF texture? thank you

  • the mesh is simply the stuff you use in your cabinets to stop dishes to slide, or in tool cabinets. wal mart, target, sears, ect should sell this mesh.

  • Wow, that's so not cool at all. All they needed to do after they got done painting was dump some Teriaki chicken on it to go with all that rice. Epic fail.

  • Can't belive how well that come out. Yeah, I'd rather have carbon fiber components, but some things aren't practical to make and I'd love to see a quote for changing all the body work to carbon fiber. And it's his car and he can do what he wants to it.

  • where do you get that thing to do it what is it called

  • stupid and totaly RICER

  • why not buy a real carbon fiber part.

  • lol all the work to airbrush fake cf, you could make real cf.

  • @666starlet what? :DDD these places are called shitholes i guess :D

  • True, in some places it's still restricted to military only use. For you clueless, carbon fiber was once top secret because of it's ultra high strength, weight an durability, all combined to create the perfect material. Don't thumbs down users if you don't know shit.

  • At about 3:25 when he talks about spraying the graphite color, is he talking about another shade of black, grey, or silver?

  • i been looking for this video for ever. i am so going to try this.

  • and ofc its on a honda civic 15years old... lol what a racer.... hahahahaha

  • ppl like to ride thier car with FAKE carbon fiber hood????

lol so cheapy and only show of

  • 2:11- 2:15 got me dizzy!

    ricer!

  • best cf look so far....best use 3 colors not 2

  • lol they used like a fish net to get the pattern they got bored.

  • its not solid carbon then dumb shit

  • bubel

  • mike bubel

  • its shelf liner you can get at raleys

  • u all r dumb assis carbon is not a fcuking cheep thing a single hood would be like 3000$ no joke and that's cheep

  • cheap You mean?

Cheep - To chirp, as a young bird :D

  • yes cheap but dose it really matter and it u consider 30 young then ya

  • true, but it was very funny for me :)

back to the video i think it`s a good method for things that can`t be made from carbon-fiber but you want them look like it and you don`t like vinyls...

  • 3k for a cf hood? i have a cf hood and it didnt cost no 3k idiot

  • wow that's very good but this gives the ricers a chance to evolve in to super ricers. i would only try this on side mirrors or something like that.

  • the Ricer headquarter! haha thats funny!!!! its cool but only for hondas i say lol this is cool tho. i honestly would just buy the real stuff. its Light Weight. and when you can tell when you touch the differance between carbon and stock. so either way its kinda gay if you do that. just stick to the real stuff.

  • wats the exact name of the mesh so i can look it up on ebay

  • its a non slip mat..not mesh..

  • best i've seen so far for paint

  • that way there will be a line.

u should have bought a bigger wool (the dotted one ur using)

  • Now why spend the money to buy all the prep stuff, the paint, clear and all the other stuff compaired to just get a carbonfiber hood and get the weight reduction.................

  • its for parts of that arent so removable... like the roof and schtuff :D

  • The ricer headquaters!

  • Wow, ricers are going to love this. The point of carbon fiber is weight reduction. Most people even paint their CF hoods now.

  • haha he said ricers

  • I wish I knew of this techqniue sooner

  • I've got a schwinn panther with faux carbon fiber fenders on itand was trying to figure how to recreate it on another bike. I was thinking maybe trying the adhesive sheetrock tape that has the mesh pattern, but this plastic sheet looks like it might work better.

  • This isnt airbrushing.

  • just so i know what to looks for

  • what is the name of the mesh and can i paint an xbox 360?

    please Help!

  • dude! that would be sick. send me a vid if you do

  • Does'nt have to be a " carbon fiber mesh " i use counter lining, and tool drawer lining and all my carbon fiber paint looks good.

Yes you can do an XBOX 360, i've done two so far, and i'm going to E-BAY them both.

Message me for any questions, feel free to ask, i always reply.

  • omfg thats so fucking cool i wuz going to do that to my 360 but flat black and silver mustang imblime on he side but win you do it let me know plzzzzz.....

  • He is pretty good wit da paint, but I perfer da reel thing.Real carbon fiber changes shade at different angles, and they way lighter! but Props to yall, dat shit came out good!!!

  • Yeah, but you can get that same lighting effect by spraying a metallic base first and then spraying your black afterwards.

  • Another thing I need to add.....to all those who think they are badd-ass because they buy the real carbon fiber, I can't tell you how many folks I know that had me strip and reseal and clearcoat their shitty little sport-compact car crappy peices because most companies dont put a UV protectant finish (clearcoat) over the epoxied fiber so within a year or two it looks like shit, peeling and oxidizing.....

  • Ed Hubbs knows more and makes more moola than any pig-headed, snot-nosed shithead making negative comments on here. Painting carbon fiber effects is not being a poser, its honing your painting skills, so to all the critics on here....get your heads out of your asses and pay some respect to a fella that knows his stuff. Didn't your mommies ever teach you if you can't say something nice keep your ignorant mouth shut?

  • all you haters need to shut up. ed hubbs knows what he's doin.

  • you know your all like 12 and have never even worked with carbon fiber at all or painted anything besides your bike with paint you stole from your fathers shed. don't bust up these guys because you have no idea what your even talking about.

  • lol thats mad "chunti" shit

  • dinesadam not everyone is made of money,

so this method would be a less cost effective look

  • I have painted carbon fiber engine and fuse box covers and they look great.

  • This is gay, go buy some real carbon fiber parts and stop being posers

  • hm.. i dont really get it

    first u sprey black

second u put that thing on and sprey silver

then i dont get the third step anyone can explain for me

  • black is base, first grey gives you the checkered look, and the last step you shift the mesh slightly and spray silver so that the grey you sprayed before it gets like a border on 2 sides.

  • thankyou but it said silver on the mat first tho

  • it's cool, but only good if youre a ricer.

  • Carbon fuckin fiber....!

Have tried something like this, but i see now what i did wrong. Thanks.

    Awsome....! :)

  • That's just cool Ed, Have you tried this on motorcycles yet? You say in the video to find the material at your local store, where would you find it that big? I can only find small stuff. Again, thanks for your vids and advice.
