  • true beauty

  • this song really kills this video. stop putting this song on sad things, it's too overused. all i picture is dead animals.

  • Simplemente se adelantó a su tiempo, y se quebro al caer

  • Poor Edie, an angel with a broken wing.

  • which movies are the ones that appear in this video??

  • edie and keira knightley look so identical. not only their face but their figures as well

  • hoever this song blows in tribute to edie. Fame should be the song seeing as how she was the invention of fifteen minutes of fame.

  • I was just thinking...........Andy's drag queen ontourage, spending every living moment trying to be a women, must have been sent into a state of major depression when Edie floated into their space.

  • @Dealit707 Funny you say that, Edie was almost arrested once because the police thought she was a drag queen from behind.

  • @xXPinkGoddessXx That's a new one for me. Where did you hear that?

  • @Dealit707 Edie biographer Melissa Painter said she discovered an audio tape of Andy Warhol talking about it when she went through his archives for research on Girl On Fire.

  • she was a beauty

  • wait i didnt know edie got burned, what happened?

  • @vanessalikesapples Edie fell asleep with a lit cigarette, thats what happened. It's too bad she had to die, she was a real beauty,

  • gorgeous.

  • Just have a few questions if anyone would be so kind as to help me out. I only recently have become a HUGE "Edie" fan. So, naturally I have a lot of questions. Any insight, film titles, interviews, etc. that you could direct me toward would be greatly appreciated . What parts of "The Factory" are absolute rubbish? Lastly, why is her hand bandaged, was it from burns she suffered in the fire? Sorry to ask so much. It's just so interesting & I don't want to confuse fiction w/the real deal. Thank u

  • @CaeRae Hi! i became a huge edie fan a few years ago but i still dont know everything. by "the factory" do you mean factory girl? the movie with sienna miller? much of that was embellished (such as the romance with bob dylan) but i would suggest Ciao Manhattan, her last film before she died, there are also many books on her, Edie:American Girl is a good one. and yes, the bandage is from the fire. hope i helped!

  • so the romance was pure fiction or did they have a short fling!

  • idt edie was ever involved with bob dylan. she did have a relationship with his manager bob neuwirth though

  • @CaeRae Edie is a good book to read.Lots of photos and interviews with people that knew her.I think Jean Stein is the author. Her cat, Smoke died in one fire.I believe she burned 2 places.Smoke was an offspring of Dylan's cat.In my opinion the film didnt cover enough. It should have been made into a mini series for tv and covered her life from beginning to end.

  • 1:22-1:34. I adore.

  • sometimes she seems more keira, but some she seems more sienna... i don't know, keira would make a good job but sienna was incredible! even the voice, the laugh, the way she moves, walk and talk... i loved the movie

  • Was Keira even offered the part?

    I know Katie Holmes was

  • She wasn't beautiful but she was, she didn't do anything, but she did. She was lucky, but she was unfortunate. She made 'great' friends, but she had no 'good' friends. Most of all, she was, and is, and always will be, an enigma.

  • that is almost the most perfect description of her i ever heard.

  • Yes, she was a walking paradox.

  • @glossy104

She was breathtakingly beautiful so what's this shit about her not being beautiful. Please speak about things you know about.

  • @1bush053 please read (& understand) before you judge. With respect, why do you judge assuming I don't know what I'm talking about? That would be your first huge mistake ...

  • @1bush053 never assume...

  • Great Video. Terrible song choice.

  • I think Keira Knightley is more look alike Edie than Sienna Miller.

  • No Sienna looked like Edie and did a great job. I don't remember the first time I heard of Edie Sedgwick but I've known of Andy Warhol and his art for a long time. And just recently after hearing about the Factory Girl movie and learning more about Andy Warhol in an Art History class I took and doing a paper on pop art for the class, I've reconnected to Andy, Edie and that whole 60s/70s vibe.

  • TRAGIC...

  • I love the footage, but the song ruins it.

  • My angel!

    My Fairy!

    :)

    I love you!

  • whre did you take the clips from? manhatten tapes??

  • does anybody know the name of the other woman thats in quite a few of the clips?

  • At 0:45 you can see Viva (Susan Hoffman) - she's the woman at the right who's laughing. and you can also see her also at 0:49.

at 3:22 you can see Baby Jane Holzer (she's the blond). she appears also at 3:24.

  • thanks for that... but I meant the woman at 2.14! :)

  • She wouldn't have wanted anyone to be sympathetic enough to make her mistakes themselves

  • Some of the things I see suggest that there are people who look at this story like it's a game. Check out the Siege of the Warwick video, with Edie talking about her delirium and convulsions, and the mental hospital where she saw the rats and ate nothing but bread and potatoes.

  • Edie wanted less reverence. Her gravestone might've said that

  • The most sensible comments I´ve read so far

  • Somebody asked, Is there a cure, and I'll just say there's been great progress in treatments for depression and mental illness - drug and non-drug treatments. In her day, an anti-psychotic drug made people into zombies. The ones now work much better and let people have regular jobs. The descriptions suggest that she had bipolar disorder, which is usually treated by a combination of drugs, often a type made originally for epilepsy.

  • oh my gosh!

    that was just amazing!

i watched Factory Girl, and something just clicked and ive been obsessed with her since :)

    what a beautiful angel...

    great job!

**btw where did you get the video clips?**

  • what is the name of this song thk

  • It's shitty how she was treated. She looks like a fragile beautiful doll, with a gentle soul and should have been treated as such!

  • very beautiful, i never knew of her...

  • she is the most beautiful person i have ever seen!

i love edie! we all miss you!

    RIP

  • Edie is the it girl of her time. Now is linsay lohan: a famous beatiful girl with drugs and personality problems.

    Also britney spears is another.

I think that all the hollywood world kill her. And it will be the same with linsay and britney (maybe not if they get into rehab)

  • pls anyone' any cure?!....alcohol,drugs,pills?....what it takes to feel happy?!depression is horrible....

  • Pat Hartley did some scenes with Edie that later ended up in Ciao! Manhattan.

  • she was very pretty :(

  • I love her in the fur coat and head scarf

  • she was the most beutiful girl on this planet. for me it like marilyn monroe but diferent

  • The close-up, picture with the chain in her mouth is sickening. I don't know if the photographer meant to be cruel, but it seems like he did all he could to humiliate her.

  • Edie = Love :)

  • so sad story. there are many like her. she was used and forgotten.

  • i wish i knew what had just been said to edie at 0:54!!

  • For some strange reason, when I think of music suitable for remembering edie.. my mind just doesnt go to anything this slow. But, nonetheless, lovely video.

  • I AM IN LOVE WITH EDIE

  • love the video! i absolutely adore edie sedgwick.

...hate the song. it annoys me for some reason.

  • she was so beautiful. there will never be another Edie Sedgwick...she was America's star, and always will be.

  • Her name is Viva. She was part of the factory long before Edie. She is the mother of Gabby Hoffman the actress...

  • Does anyone know who the woman in the sauna with her is? She seems to be with her a lot..xx

    ps beautiful video, so sad!!

  • those are clips from ciao! manhattan. it's an actress from the film.

  • this is so great(:

    thanks so much for posting!

I don't think people die. I think they go to department stores.

    xoxo, Page

  • beautiful vid,but terrible choice of music!

  • First of all to the person whom made this

exellent! Real footage not just from ciao! ,but this person did there homework.

    Q. is that issabella rosalinni as the betty bop model? 2nd I never see any pics of ritchie berlin she seems kind and has good taste in clothes from what little I have seen of her. also ,3.12 with edie and the baloons is so breathtaking, she must of really known we are stars.

  • can anyone tell me how can I get the soundtrack of the filme factory girl?

  • If Wein and Warhol weren't bad influences, they weren't good influences, and she really needed good influences. Strictly in terms of business, Warhol helped get her started as a model. His movies didn't make money.

  • she's like the agyness deyn in the 60s "]

  • Or A.D. is the Edie of the 00s.

  • Edie should not have left Bob Dylan for that vampire Andy Warhol he just sucked the life out of her. Acording to the movie he didnt pay her shit for the work she did and helped him sell his art. If she stayed with Bob her life would of been alot better. He would of took care of her because that was what she needed she was a child. R.I.P Edie Sedwick

  • She didn't. She started going to the Factory with Chuck Wein & became a Warhol Superstar.

She met Dylan later on, signed with his manager, and left the Factory. When she found out Dylan had married Sarah Lownds in secret, she took off.

You can argue that Dylan got a couple of great songs off her (allegedly) and left her in the dust the same way Warhol (allegedly) did.

  • I agree with you except Bob Dylan and Bobby Neuwirth (her boyfriend) actually met Edie before Warhol did.

  • My bad, you're right - they met a month before she met Warhol.

LeCanadienErrant - Warhol may have given her stardom and fame but years of sanity, definitely not. I'd grab Jean Stein's biography and not take Factory Girl too literally.

  • who is the singer please...????

  • Sarah McLachlan

  • Edie was a beautiful yet fractured soul

  • sienna was perfect to play edie in 'factory girl'.. keira is good actress , but has no similarity to sedgwick.. sienna did great job, she reflected edie.

  • Oh no Edie sedgwick is

    dead poor woman :(

    Rest and peace Edie :(

  • who can tell me where that house is in the background in the last clip of edie

  • Andy gave drugs to Edie...he was a dirty murder...RIP Edie..you was an angel..

  • um I agree that andy warhol was scum but he didn't give drugs to Edie-any Edie Sedgwick fan woud know how she spiraled into it

  • According to the movie" Factory Girl" Edie Sedwick was alreaday a disturbed individual when she met Andy Warhold's world. Her father has commited incest with her since she was 8 years old. Why point the finger at Andy Warhold? He probably gave her the only years of sanity in her distraught life.

  • No, Kiera couldn't have done any better then Sienna, she may look more of the role but Sienna looked enough like her and had her mannerisms everything like Edie.

  • she is beautiful, unique, an angel, she was just misguided by people and the vices of this world which brought her untimely end

but she lives on in peoples heart and through factory girl, who sienna miller channels amazingly from the way she smoked, spoke and moved xx

  • keira knightly should of played her in factory girl instead of sienna miller, keira has a stronger face and is a better actress

  • no way! Keira's facial expressions would have ruined everything! the way see pumped her lips and look un-natural.whenever i see keira, all i focous on is her lips, and the way see plays with them, no no no..

I have nothing against keira personally, but no, nothing similar to edie. in my opinion.

  • Edie is the princess, beautiful video

  • i never knew of Edie until i watched factory Girl..i felt sad for her.. she is very beautiful

  • I noticed Divax on the bottom of the film I assume is Ciao Manhattan Im going to buy the DVD but were did you get this ????

  • ahhaaha,I see

  • I've been reading the book "Edie: An american girl" the impression that gives me is that though she was extremely beautiful she was extremely arrogant also, she kind of believd she was thes little queen, though I really like her, I don't know, I love the mysterious image that she has

  • yea i read it too and i had to do a report on americans of the 20th century that were icons or made a difference so i decided to do it on her because there was a movie coming out about her so i thought wow she must have impacted a lot of lives to have a movie about her plus its easier to do a report when you can watch a movie...anyways i finished the book and had a hard time trying to write something positive that she had done so i ended up bullshitting my essay to get an A

  • she looks like keira knightley

  • Yes sometimes she has got the same face. But not always.

  • yes ! i agree 100%

not always but there is defintely a large similarity

i believe she should have played Edie in facotry girl instead of sienna miller

  • Proper typical American drivel.

"iam always at a lost for words when i see an angel of joy, beauty and short commings that this world lost."

Hahaha. She was a nice-looking socialite, and probably a laugh, but at the end of the day, she was basically a smackhead who Warhol happened to like. She's hardly Ghandi.

  • nope, Edie wasn't Gandhi, (but I'll bet she knew how to spell his name correctly).

  • great vid =) edie is one of the most remarkable women ever.

  • Thank you for her sharing her life........she was beautiful person

  • iam always at a lost for words when i see an angel of joy, beauty and short commings that this world lost.

  • what a lovley post edie was one of akind thank you

  • She was so beautiful

  • omg i love edie she is my idol yea she wasnt perfect but she was someone like i want to be

  • she was not perfect you idiot. no ones perfect, thats why shes beautiful, she was soo diffrent.

    retard

  • why do people have to call each other retards do make a point? It's extremely low class, especially to someone you've never met

  • anyone else think keira knightley looks almost identical to edie sedgwick? seriously there bodies and faces are the same. if you dont think so then go find a picture of keira. they honest to god look like twins.

  • um, no. not really.

  • yeah they look alike. And jennifer gardner has edie's smile.

  • I love this collage, but everytime I hear this song, I think of that commercial about abused cats and neglected dogs.

  • then it fits perfectly to this video.

  • lol

  • Okay PLEASE message me and tell me WHERE all teh footage is from pleasepleaseplease

  • This is the second video about Edie that I have seen in a few short minutes that has a Sarah Mclachlan song accompanying it. I suppose that there is a connection. They were both rich girls from privileged backgrounds, the difference being that Edie's parent's didn't approve of her career and Sarah's bought hers.

  • I see that while enjoying the video, some people don't feel the song fits, and that's fine. I'm not a big fan of the genre, but when it came to making this video, I couldn't help feeling like a sentamentilst about her. I also feel that the lyrics describe so much about Edie, and how it felt to be an angel without wings. Thanks to those enjoyed.

  • i absolutely love this clip, it's amazing...i like the song choice, it suits edie

  • edie sedgwick is facinating!!! but this song, i feel, doesnt fit with her!

  • i love this clip soooo much, ive watched it too many times to recall now, terrific job.

  • shes an amazing person.

    cept the junkie part.

    but we all make mistakes.

    watch factory girl.

    movie made me cry

  • This would be wonderful if it wasn't for that hackneyed song.

  • can you please contact me with where you got the video footage

    please

    good job

agree with the chelsea girls song

  • NO one can gleam reality from art & Edie has been cannonized into something, not sure what. I'm sure she had all the frailties & weaknesses of most of us. She was also a natural, a great model, she had presence, the camera loved her. She took a ride on the world, hey, we all probably woulda done the same....to a greater or lesser extent. RIP Edie.

  • Great tribute and wonderful images. I recently saw the bio-pic Factory Girl and found it pretty enjoyable...Guy Pearce and Sienna Miller were great. Did not see how Warhol was responsible for her sad downfall.

  • yea i cried.

she was so beautiful & i couldn't blame her one bit.

    great clip.

  • Hey thanks to the jerk that had 2 mention she had sex w/ men 4 drugs.Yeah, she did.She lived her life in pain, inheireted mental illness and escaped it anyway she knew how. I give her kudos 4 lasting as long as she did and adding some beauty 2 the worls along the way. I hope she's at peace. You are such a jerk, whoever you are. You must have no idea what it's like to be in that much constant pain.

  • i actually really love edie myself and am not disputing she was in pain. its just annoying when people look at everything through rose tinted glasses making out she was perfect. i have read her book and was just giving an opposing opinion.

  • That was an opposing opinion?Pointing out her lowest moment? No one here has suggested she was perfect. For whatever reason she was an iconic figure and like most icons, she paid the ultimate price.Depression & mental illness are the worst form of cruelty & you have to go through it to understand the things it makes you do. Again, I hope she's at peace.

  • yeah, I know what you mean,I´ve been through two severe depressions, and nobody seemed to understand, everyone argued that it was because I had everything one could have and also because I´ve been always living on easy street,as you well mention,it´s hard to understad.Regards

  • living on easy street has nothing to do with depression. i never lived on easy street. things were always hard for me growing up, and edie had a terrible childhood. her father was a pig, her brothers killed themselves, she had those tendencies. rich or poor pain comes in all forms. i know from very personal experience. Depression is hell...rich or poor.

  • Yeah I Know, that´s why I hated it when people around me who didn´t know me well put the blame on that, and yes,it´s hell.Anyways hope you´re doing well now

    Regards

  • so sad... and great movie about her factory girl

  • Great images of Edie, but the Sarah McLaughlin song doesn't do it for me. Too melancholy, and yes even cliche' as it's a song too often used at funerals.

  • she was a true beauty. a real lady if u ask me.

  • yeh even though she had sex with men for drugs

  • your here only once...she knew how to do it

  • all the people she was around never acctually cared about her..

  • its sad, tragic how she ended, but maybe it was meant to be.all stars burn out.thats what happened to her. inevitable fate.she had too much fun partyin, being a celeb.didnt know her limitations like alotta peeps specially beautiful free-spirited women like her.

  • Thank you so much for this beautiful video. The music was perfect.

  • Sorry, it´s not "remembers me", what I want to say is " it reminds me".

  • Nico don´t liked her, I heard, so why should rukusgta take her voice for Edie? One picture remembers me to the scene with the old woman from poland in "Inland Empire" and suddenly the whole film seems to fit.

  • It's like she was disintergrating right before our eyes...

  • Sorry to respond with a negative but really the music is bad and not suited AT ALL. I agree Nico or the VU, Morrissey, anything more time warped would go better and make these great images sooooooooooo much easier to watch. I muted it as it was. Sorry is because I don't like being negative so regard it as constructive criticism. Cheers.

  • I find this post mortem idolisation a little creepy too.

A beautiful screwed up woman meeting the wrong people, doing the wrong things 'coz it's better than the pain you inherit.Creepy, that's modern life

  • great footage of edie

  • Wonderful images, but the music has nothing to do with Edie. Sleep well sweet princess, ciao darling.

  • Edie was extremely talented and intelligent, and came from a severely fucked-up family. She died a long time ago, and all this rabid cult adoration and picking over every detail of her sad life is just creepy in my opinion!

  • nice vid, but the music is awful! "Chelsea girls" by Nico or actually any early Nico song would be perfect, or some VU. (All tomorrows parties" maybe?).

  • her expressions are so pure, like when she's shocked, when she laughs and smiles...if only she'd given herself 50 more years.

  • (^continued)her life was full of sex, drugs, and abuse. she had a comet like rise and fall to stardum during her time with warhol which spinned out of control. so for my report she wasnt the best person to choose because she wasnt like oprah or george washington. edie was an icon during the chaotic revolutionary changes during the 1960s. so go take a chill pill

  • Stein's bio is just a string of events. To understand Edie's impact you'd have to know more about the Factory than is written in that book. You'd also have to watch her films (not Factory Girl).

It sounds like it was a junior high or high school assignment.

Too bad - a well-written thesis about the pervasive cultural impact of a Warhol Superstar burnout anorexic could have been a fascinating read, esp. amidst the essays on inventors and politicians.

  • calm down everyone. i read the biography titled "edie" by jean stein. i had to do a paper on an american who had a positive impact. i chose her because she looked interesting and there was a movie coming out about her. her life was really interesting and nothing at all like paris's, but for my paper i really could not write anything postive about her impact besides changing fashion. ----> continues below

  • oh wow, i admire her... and her beauty. rest in PEACE edie doll.

    thanks for this video!

  • Thats why so many Edie fans were angry at silly Sienna making a film about her. She was beauiful and talented. I dont know what book you read. Dont even compare her to Paris Hilton.

  • i totally agree.

  • silly girl!!!

  • i read a book on her and the factory was such a short time in her life. only about 2 years, and she's not as amazing at she seems. seriously i dont even no why they wrote a book on her or made a movie

  • beccccccccc how can you say that?? yes the factory was a short period in her life but it affected her right up until the day she died! and as for the fact she isnt amazing i cant see why you said that her life was full of drama a heart break and endless parties and arguements i dont know why people haven't written more books on her she was a born a start and was the first IT girl no one comes more flaboient and origional as she did anymore its all full of wannabe's edie was the origional!

  • She wasn't the first It girl. Baby Jane Holzer was Warhol's first superstar and the It girl term comes from It (1927) with Clara Bow so Edie had her predecessors.

She is one of a kind and you get that from watching any of her films, not just flipping through her fashion spreads. Sorry flixy, just had to point out that Edie's fascinating because of who she was - not her life drama but the rare "it" factor that she has.

    She's an enigma.

  • Actually, if you go back to the beginning, it was Naomi Levine who was Warhol's first female superstar from his '64 film, "Tarzan and Jane Regained... Sort of". It was John Giorno, star of "Sleep", who is generally agreed upon to be the first superstar (male or female).

  • Let me add that it was, indeed, Baby Jane Holzer who was the first "it girl" of The Silver Factory and of Warhol's oeuvre, but to be the reigning "it girl" of The Factory and to be a superstar are hardly the same thing.

  • she was the 1st girl to be famous for being famous, SHe was the 1st Paris Hilton.

  • i think keira knightley looks a lot like her when edie has short brown hair. they have the same facial expressions and mouth when they laugh 49-53

  • the video is really good. the music however is too cliche and cheesy. it put me to sleep had to turn off my speakers.

  • lovely. In the end, she didn't look that nice anymore...

  • poor edie...i love her so much. may she rest in peace wherever she is
