  • alas for me had i remind (?) my virtue had remind unstained (?) huh that was funny, i thought that the words in this made sense....o wait, this just sucks

  • Hay que ser objetivo. La grabación no es de la mejor calidad. Sin embargo, aún así lo fuera creo que esta versión es desastrosa. Buena voz y coloratura pero eso no alcanza Erika!!! Hay que saber la letra de la aria y actuación...

  • The poor girl looks like she hasn't had any kind of direction at all. Or coaching.

  • Well she is still the leading coloratura soprano in Hungary... Funny...The next time she should learn more the text...

  • she is fairly good but needs more more more practice to reach legends llike dessay or damrau in this araia....

  • es un poco sosa...

  • I love her as the queen or in some bel canto arias. But here she's just bad. Her vocal disply is great but this aria is about acting which she obviously is not doing well.

  • more faust than a Cunegonde.

  • WOW...that diction is downright bizarre. She IS NOT a dramatic soprano at all. At best a leggiero.

  • That is the worst version than I ever heard!!! I thought she was a professional....but not...she is not

  • she looks SO mad. and her pronunciation is iffy. but i love LOVE love it! oh my god. damn.

  • Even more with this dark hair...lovely. I am humble enough to say I know not a thing about singing I play tenor sax. But for a woman to be able to get on stage and do this is enough for me.

  • I hope this isn't what I sound like to foreigners when I sing in their languages...nice voice though!

  • but she seems not to undrestand the nature of this aria, and what about the central spoken part??? where is it?, is her pronunciation that bad.. that they rather cut it off???? hehehehee

  • it couldn't be sang worse than this. The wrong words everywhere and especially the high tones were all detoned. And her attitude is not right(especially at the beginning) I believe, but it's normal because she doesn't know the words.

  • I agree that I couldn't understand any of the words, but to give her the benefit of the doubt, 1) she's Hungarian, and English is not her first language, and 2) English is a demonic language to sing in even for native speakers (trust me - vowel modifications EVERYWHERE). I can't comment on her attitude (ha, read "Candide" over the summer for French class and totally don't remember it), but I think her high notes are amazing - remember, she IS internationally renowned for her Queen of the Night!

  • I agree that I can't understand a word she says, but to give her the benefit of the doubt, 1) she's Hungarian, and not a native English speaker, and 2) English is a fiendishly difficult language to sing in for anyone (trust me, modified vowels EVERYWHERE - it gets messy). I can't say anything about her attitude (read "Candide" in French for school over the summer and don't remember it), but I think her high notes are great - remember, she IS internationally renowned for her Queen of the Night!

  • She is more akin to sing musicals than to chamber musica or opera.

  • thats not entirely accurate, granted her diction and acting are pretty bad, she has a dramatic soprano voice and pretty good coloratura technique which would be much more well suited to opera than to musical theatre. Besides, Candide is an operetta, its somewaht of an opera/musical theatre hybrid.

  • Magnificient...

  • She seems to be forcing out the sound by making extreme facial expressions, but the color she's putting out is great.
