that sucks bro here in utah well some parts of utah we dont even have emissions you can have your exhaust just straight off the engine if you wanted but i wouldnt suggest that for more reasons than one but as long as you pass safety inspections and pay registrations your good to go
I removed both mufflers and resonator and replaced them with exhaust pipe. The only restriction are the converters. Some states this might be illegal, but in TX its no prob!!
Hey man.. Your Tiburon sounds great. I just bought an 08 SE and I'm looking to upgrade the exhaust. I like the deep throat yours has so I'm curious how to go about getting the upgrade. I'm concerned about it voiding the warranty tho. What kinda suggestions can you give me?
I couldn't find a system that I liked so I just did the simplest thing which was remove both mufflers from the rear and the resonator. No warranty problems, I take my car to the dealer for everything and they haven't said anything about the intake or exhaust. Both Mods really let the car breathe and it is much more responsive. The exhaust without the resonator is really loud, so if you leave it on, you should get the same tone, but not as crazy loud. Thanks for the compliments!!

No effect at all on emissions. I took it to just any exhaust shop, they chop off the mufflers and slide in and weld some pipe in to replace them. Really simple, any shop should be able to do it. The dealer would have hassled me too much I think, they only get my oil change business!!

You don't need mufflers to pass inspection, at least not in Texas. Cops dont bother much, HID's get more attention than exhaust. Thanks for the comment!!

Love it to death!!! It is surprisingly faster than I expected. The more miles I put on it, the better mileage I get. Really woth the money!! I have about 10.000 miles on it so far and I'm getting 26 MPG. Much better than factory estimated. Screw the mileage, it's fun to drive!!!!
I still have the factory manifolds and converters so no check engine lights yet. The only way it will throw codes is if you put the full race exhaust set up on, with no converters, the check engine will surely come on

Love it so far. I have nearly 10,000 miles and it's a year old. I have raced RX8's and smoked that ass by at least 5 links. But the RX8 is a beast on the freeway. I think that the TIB really gets the most bang for the buck!!

i think its badass- i like the tib and genesis coupe, but i think shape of the 08 tib is the best- my ideal hyundai would be:
2008 tib w/ TAU V8 swap manual trans,
using the suspension and braking system of the genesis coupe, black tint white car with smoked gray wheels.
sorry for ranting like that but your cars awesome- used to own a hyndai myslef
