Hi yall. Interesting conversation. Well I play Hendrix as a homage to one of my musical ancestors. I choose to play Hendrix closer to the original a. because its more of a homage to his spirit and not my creative ego and b- because my own original music of creation is alive well 364 days of the year and I think for my fans I don't need to prove my originality, especially on tunes we all know and I love like this one.

Close to the original or wild interpretation, is there not room for both approaches, and all in between? Music is freedom. The ego is not the seat of creativity either, it gets in the way of it. (in my humble opinion!)

Get over yourself, its a cover. what is being fused? its the exact same instrumentation, harmony and rhythm, which makes it an awesome performance but thats it
