This entire soundtrack was beautifully composed but Confluence is my favorite track. It always brings on a sort of sinking feeling for me, particularly at 1:50.
This song always brings up my favorite scene from the movie: Sayuri looking out over the water, thinking she has lost all hope for her true love, and the reunion in the pavilion surrounded by cherry blossoms. BEAUTIFUL music that brings tears to my eyes. Bravo once again John Williams!
@1000revoluciones These two films deserved the Oscars they won also. Another good movie did not have that luck is not to go to whine like a baby and throw shit at others that it had her. Oscar wins do not have to be a reference to a film to be better or worse.
You'll think I'm pathetic, but everytime I listen to this soundtrack I haveto cry (especially at the middle of the song), It makes me think about the movie, and It's just THE amazing part (although the movie IS amazing), becauseafter that we see the little girl running and talking about her dreams, and It's just wonderfull.. I don't even know haw to explain it with words... :S
love memoirs of a geisha.

The most intense part for me: minute , from minute 1:38 to 1:55, when the music turns louder and the flute blows…

oscars are fail. how can they compare this with the music from Brokefuck Mountain with this masterpiece?

Only a composer the likes of John Williams can bring so many emotions to come together in one piece and make it a masterpiece.
I have to say, the transition at 1:39, 2:28 & 3:10 is absolutely...beautiful.

This wonderful score failed to win the Oscars. But ugly Slumdog Millionaire and Gayback Mountain won the Oscars.

You're not pathetic I do too. It's like you can feel the end of all her unhappiness and all her dreams have come true, after so much struggle!!
I suppose it gives hope that we can reach for our dreams after all!
