  • I really loved those three (two originaly) guys who ran around the city cause the humvees left 'em. lol, Kinda the comic relief i guess?

  • @lmaobringitnoob If being left without support and an angry armed mob is approaching their location with the intent of killing any american personnel is considered comic relief then yes.

  • i love how at the end only 19 people died in real but in the film it seemed that hundreds of americans died Over the top much !!!

  • NELSONNNNNNNNNN hahah

  • no body has to be a hero its just sometimes turns out that way!

  • @thrust67 its nobody ASKS to be a hero

  • wtf does spartans have to do with this movie? u idiots

  • its about the man next to you. thats it. all it is

  • Is this a true story?

  • @TehMariio The battle in Somalia was a real event but how it is portrayed through this film is incorrect.

  • @EZL80 Shit :(

  • @TehMariio Yeah. Regardless this was still a good film, the bad thing is that we lost 19 soldiers.

  • whats the name of the ost that plays at 00.32 ?

  • To those fucking hippies out there and anyone else who disrespect the military, "FUCK YOU".

  • Is nelson Deaf for life now? or can he still hear? but barely

  • @madfootballkid you know its a movie

  • @MNxHOCKEYx24 you know IN THE MOVIE, nelson can't hear because of the close shots fired by his head. I did not refer to any real life actions. Thanks for being Mr.Obvious over here!

  • @madfootballkid haha sorry man

  • This spartans vs soldiers in this movie is the most pointless argument i have heard. People need to get a life.

  • Such a great movie... This is easily my favorite war movie!

  • were they all rangers or delta force?

  • @SkaNarrator both

  • @daolpuful could you tell me the difference between them

  • Comment removed

  • Wow after reading all the comments responding to mine I am finally convinced that far-left liberals are as crazy as Fabolous thinking he's like LeBron because he took his talents down to South Beach.

  • American soliders fighting for big business and old guys in Congress who dont give a fuck.

  • @Athleticmaleuk Hey Dumbass, big business, you think our men give their lives for big business. They give for many reasons asshole. Money isnt one of them. Those soldiers are called mercenaries, NOT US Rangers. Wishing you a sever case of crotchrot for the new year. Get a clue.

  • @Athleticmaleuk thats why its not about any of the bs "its about the men next to them" for many the military is a way to further their education and support their families....i don't respect the government or any of the other assholes. I respect the troops though.

  • @Athleticmaleuk and millions of somialians die for an idea that ceased to be relevant or markably helpful 3,000 goddamned years ago.

you're telling me that one life is quantifiably worth several hundred thousand times more then another?

because that's what i'm hearing from you.

  • most amazing movie of all time!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • 300 Spartans at Thermopoly, 90 Rangers at Mogadishu

  • @capnhands 300 Spartans against thousands of soldiers...90 Rangers agains hundreds

  • @giorgospaok19 the Spartans weren't up against militia men with AK-47's and RPG's

  • @capnhands It was 300 professional Spartans but an army of 7000 professionals defending a tiny pass against 100s of thousands of militia. A lot easier than walking into the enemy's capital with around 100 men.

  • @capnhands Only imagine how few we would have used if we trained our soldiers as hard as the Spartans of the 300

  • at 7:18 the guy who is dead just blinked

  • why are those somalies were happy when US soldiers running...

  • @akilisatolitot Those are the Somalians who don't want violence from the militia

  • 8:05 names of the brave men who died

  • I thought it was pretty symbolic when the Colonel tried to wipe up the blood... But in the end it only spread around even more.

  • where is the malaysian soldiers??????????????

  • @lukashirikato19 i think Hollywood made this movie focusing on their own..

  • @akilisatolitot yeah but atleast show some respect the other country who did save their troop. anyway the movie was nice n awsome...

  • those soldiers were fucking made of steel and i know for a fact that i couldn't do what they did.

    they were real men

  • wot about the guy hu got taken alive from the chopper ...

  • @djisPWI if you read the credits part..he was released after 10 days of captivity

  • i actually cried.

  • Farrah Aidid Killed August 2 1996 hmmmmm.

Here is your retirement present General Garrison from US Black Ops Team.

  • After watching the whole movie you got to admit at 8:41 would give almost anybody the shivers especialy with the volume cranked up, Lisa Gerrards voice in its self is a wonder of the world.

  • if only we stayed home

  • GOD BLESS USA AND THE AMERICANES WHO MAKE A DIFFERENCE

  • @blackknight45100 The nazi prayed to god for victory also. Every army prays to god for victory. It should be very obvious by now, that if there was a god he really does not give a shit

  • @blackknight45100 Quit being biased. "God" does not have a favorite country so God Bless the WORLD

  • @Cobra0541 You are an idiot. God does not love this world, he hates it. Man has turned this world into an evil pace of corruption.

  • @LordWellington15 Wow you're an idiot. Hey moron if you're going to mention God, that's one thing, if you're going to say he hates the world then prove it. If you can't prove it then for 1 shut the fuck up. 2 don't call somone an idiot if you sound like a bigger one yourself.

  • @blackknight45100 anyone can make a difference not just the U.S.

  • BEST MOVIE I THANK YOU POSTING THESE :)

    Subbed btw aha.

  • @ 4:55 , Hoot makes that tray of food look delish. He took quite a long time to chew that one bite.

  • shit live war is just for idiots movie *super

  • Thank u bill clinton and liberal medias

  • Who was speaking at the end?

  • I was born right in the middle of when this shit was all going down

  • I can't believe I still want to be a u.s army ranger even just after seeing this movie

  • US marine dem r d bez,,,, hope oneday i'll catch up em fight for the good cause ... fight for peace n harmony...

  • very Cool

  • you can take my body but u cant take my heart

  • one of the most powerfull movies ever made ...

  • I like how they call them "skinnies" because the Somalians are literally starving, and yet the US soldiers who are the "good guys" make a derogatorily term for the "bad guys". Wasn't this war to feed the starving Somalians? Or was it to arrest and remove certain political leaders in the region. Well.... let's see, I don't see a single US soldier feeding the people, I only see them killing and arresting people. Amazing how Hollywood can taint the truth with a movie and change the perspective.

  • @Sun6Tzu you fucking idiot read up on the fucking history of events you retard before wining. there were 2 missions. the first was a humanitarian one to ensure the food supplies would reach the somalis. it was a success, the UN (US) retreated afterwards. then immediately after they retreated AIDID again started his terror on the somalis and on the few remaining troops. so the US started a mission to retrieve AIDID. one operation during that mission was IRENE, which this movie is based on. moron.

  • @h0ktar Major General Thomas M. Montgomery, Deputy Commander of the United Nations Forces in Somalia in a television interview said, "Many of the soldiers are alive today because of the willingness and skill of the Pakistani soldiers who worked jointly in a rescue operation with Malaysian and American soldiers in most difficult and dangerous combat circumstances."

In the movie, they depict the Pakistani soldiers as being unfriendly allies who don't care about American soldiers. HOLLYWOOD LIES.

  • @Sun6Tzu yup US is simply arrogant+ ego. They can't accept they been saved by small & weak country like Pakistan+Malaysia.

  • @AiEGiLe the US is tied down by insane dictator like leaders. we were saved by the paki's here clearly. however we only need saving, because if we whipped the fuckers clean from the map. People like you would be bitching all over CNN. That' why is Israel is some gangsters. They simply dgaf.

  • @h0ktar PS: So if the Americans were the "heroes" of this conflict, then why would all of Somalia turn on them when they are the ones helping them? The US didn't follow UN protocol like usual and decided to play judge, jury and executioner again, which resulted in the unnecessary deaths of many people due to ego and arrogance. Never has the US ever helped a nation out of it's suffering. It's only deployed soldiers, killed the local population then installed a puppet regime. FAKE HEROES

  • @Sun6Tzu holy shit what's your problem? when did I ever say that the movie is accurate? and when did I ever say that the americans are those big heroes?!

i merely pointed out that this fucking mission wasn't even supposed to save any food supplies as you insisted, that was the previous mission.

and yes, that previous mission was a success, you can rant as much as you want about that.

    WTF...

  • @h0ktar Why do people have to die so Americans can pretend they are heroes?

  • @Sun6Tzu

    1) why do you ask me? you're acting as if i had said the americans are those heroes, wtf, i didn't say anything like that.

    2) what the hell is wrong with you. all those idiots who rant about americans, do you fucking retards ever think what happens if they don't act? whatever they do, it's wrong... if they do something everyone whines, if they don't they are the big assholes who don't care about 2nd and 3rd world. do ppl. like you ever think beyond the fucking ranting?

  • @Sun6Tzu It's not that simple, the people of Somalia were suffering from poverty and war, they saw Aidid as a leader because of his propaganda - he had been building a sentiment of anger towards Americans, describing them as modern colonials so that when the battle broke out, ordinar people were picking up weapons to kill Americans because they thought they were liberating their country.

  • @etoriaking And what about our own propaganda here in the US? The government claims they operate military missions in order to help people of other nations against oppressive bad people. What I notice is that they install only leaders of a region who allow all their resources and fiances to flow back to the private companies and the upper class of the US. You have oil being pumped across the globe in a country that has almost no consumer vehicles, it ends up being used in cars on US soil.

  • @Sun6Tzu You sound like a pansy liberal coward. US interventions might not always work out but we actually try to help others. We're saviors not conquerors.

  • @KSICarbonCore Who are you saving? Name one country that has improved after a conflict involved with US soldiers.

  • @Sun6Tzu Theres Germany Italy Japan Philippines South Korea Iraq Kuwait

  • @KSICarbonCore LOOOOOl ! "saviors" you're deaf man : who do you think you americans are ? a 2nd Jesus perhaps ? What the fuck have you saved Iraquis, or others from ?

Ok you're no conquerors, you're just idealistic morons leaving a trail full of death and hate.

And well you're not alone in this way, just see NATO paving the way to a taliban state in Libya today ...

  • Répondre à cette vidéo... Just want to make clear it doesn't prevent to have the greatest respect and admiration for these men and their heroic deeds that day. But it makes no sense -- just bravery.

  • @KSICarbonCore Tell that to the 100000 Iraqis who died, the civilians in Falluja where the kids are getting cancer cos of the depleted uranium or the men and women in abu grahib.

  • @etoriaking Clinton should have not send US troops in the first place without a clear exit plan. Just like when Reagan pulled out the Marines in early 1984 after the October 1983 Beirut bombing that killed 241 Marines, Clinton did the same thing when he pulled out US troops in March of 1994 after the "Black Hawk Down" incident in Somalia. Clinton never bother to deploy troops into Bosnia until he started to send it's troops in 1995 as part of a peacekeeping force to enforce the Dayton Accords.

  • @h0ktar IRENE was the attack code. The mission was Operation Gothic Serpent. And this mission was to capture Aidid's generals. I think you got the mission name from the game DFBHD.

  • listen to hoot speach he is right its about the man next to you BROTHERS IN ARM cant wait

  • This and Saving Private Ryan are my top favourites.

  • "what u all think ur heroes" no we are toys of fucked up government.

  • 18 died in the battle not 19

  • Comment removed

  • Great movie..... he's right no one will understand a soldier that does what he does....no one back home ever will

  • hope everyone realizes that no matter what u say or believe war is death for all even those who survive. they will never be the same.

  • the new army apft

  • Also, my mum has a friend who is a refugee from Somalia. The last we heard from him, he was still trying to save enough money to get his family out of the country. Please don't forget that 20 years on, the civil war is still raging there. Dozens are killed everyday, on top of those starving in the famine.

Whatever faith you are from, please keep the people of Somalia in your thoughts/prayers and hope for an end to the war.

Sorry for posting so many comments, its a personal topic

  • Love this fim, only 2 issues:

    1) The only time you really see any Pakistani soldiers is when they appear with trays of water for the Americans. Their heroic contribution to the battle is totally ignored.

    2) The most poignant scenes in this film for me were when the old man is seen carrying the child's body across the road, and when the child soldier accidentally kills his father. These are the only times we are reminded of the human cost of the war.

Apart from this, a great film, best war movie.

  • @etoriaking this story is that of the rangers struggle to get out. its not about the battle in general but the journey of these specific men

  • who would have thought almost 20 years after this the pakistanits would be hising the bigest of all american-killers in a military town on their soil.

  • @etoriaking What about a war movie called " When trumpets fade" ?

  • @etoriaking dude can you point mein direction of pakistani stories. goodpoint shouldnt be ignored

  • @etoriaking The kid was shooting at the soldier to kill him, shot his father/uncle/friend by accident. The soldier should have hit the kid off the head,or knocked him out. Then left. What was to stop the kid from suddenly becoming angry, picking up a gun and shooting the soldier when he got 20 steps away ? Nothing.A dumb move, but that's Hollywood.

  • @etoriaking ..Who is feeding the war, waiting to grab the country?A wise man, starts or sees a conflict, feeds both side arms, and waits till they kill each other off. Then 'saves' the country raises his flag and builds roads and schools.

  • @etoriaking also the malaysian forces too....

  • @etoriaking well wat about when the pakistani soldiers came with all the tanks any stuff that was a great bit

  • Seriously it gave me back my memories when i was in the army

  • amazing movie, i respect the shit (even more so now) outta the military

  • This movie is a great reminder of what a great country we live in. God bless America!

  • HOORAA!

  • thumbs up for all the soldier that risk there lives for there country

  • @nash09274508326 the sad thing is, they didnt even die for their country in Somalia. Thats why Clinton pulled the troops out; although America was there with good intentions, too many young American men were coming back in boxes from a war that ultimately didn't affect them. Tragic realities of modern warfare.

  • Fantastic film, alot of war films just don't have the atmosphere of this.

  • How long is he going to chew that rice??

  • and I'm saying this because there apparently are ppl that think the marines were the ones in there, when the rangers are the army. Know your history ppl. Army went in not Marines.

  • @Crookster100 marines were there first they provided relief for the city they were there for alot longer than the army special forces

  • One of the first movies that made me almost cry. Bautiful movie great work of Columbia Pictures.

R.I.P. fore all the 19 soldiers who lost theire live that day.

  • What's the name of the song at the ending with the credits?

  • @countryjamaica " Gortoz a Ran - Denez Prigent "

  • i love hoot's talk about how people dont understand the sacrifice these people make. "its about the men next to you." im joining the army soon. ill keep that quote in mind

  • The evactuation of the American trapped forces was an action carried out entirely by a Pakistani armoured Squadron and 7th Frontier Force Mech Infantry Regiment. Its really sad that the movie has given minimum credit to the actual people who picked these soldiers, put them in their vehicles and took them out of the hell hole.

  • @lithiumsliver the movie is called blackhawk down not mech vehicle retreat

  • @joeratti The movie is about the whole operation - its just called black hawk down because americans seem to loose a black hawk down every now and then and that was the first time it happened. I believe it was quite a feat by any standards for the soldiers involved, but to show everything else in such detail yet reduce the pull-out to a few vehicles shown around empty streets doesn't do justice. The operation should have been covered in entirety.

  • @lithiumsliver and because it was the moment when the whole operation went pear-shaped, everything that happened after that was due to trying to help the guys on th first black hawk

  • thanks to the military ooooraaah ooraah

  • cant believe that only 19 US died thats crazy

  • @TheJohnGway 18 where killed in the actual raid with over 70 wounded,Producers or whoever fucked up the total, the 19th guy killed was the delta guy Matt Rierson two days later from a somali mortar attack on the base.

  • @TheJohnGway You have to understand that the Rangers and especially Delta are some of the top fighters in the army. The Somalian militia were basically citizens armed with AK's and no training at all, as well as little equipment.

  • im not fontal lie that song that played at 7:40 when he was talking to the dead body it is extremely sad

  • i love that delta operator...re-arming...eating pie...Godamn! lol

  • @M0r4D wait i don't think it was pie

  • that was the ratio? 1000:19? damn.....

  • The last part with them standing Air Force!!!!!

  • What Happened to the Pilot that had a broken leg That the Skinnys kept Captive?

  • @Djoneill25 they returned him to the US after a few weeks. Alive and well.

  • y didnt the u.s. just nuke them niggas ass

  • @richkingyang Racist Prick.

  • @richkingyang cause we've become a pussy nation no disrespect intended facts are facts

  • @TheGLOCK40cal We didn't nuke them because the whole reason for our presence there was to help the civilians from the warlords in Somalia. It would have been counter-productive.

  • @richkingyang Ummm, cause the UN's and US' intention was to eliminate the warlord Mohamed Farrah Aidid and SAVE Somalia. Not blow it to kingdom come.

Maybe if you actually did some research on it (or watched the whole movie), you may not need to ask stupid questions.

  • I cried.

  • NAVY SEABEE, OORAH

  • This Movie Sends such an incredible message, I had tears at the end. I might now join the army because of this movie. (Im 15 so I would have to wait 3 more years)

  • @Dubvad3r Well good for you little buddy.

  • @Psychocide hahahahahahahaha

  • @Ligalotz I'm being serious lol

  • 3:20 clean up yo mess.

  • FOR PEOPLE WHO HATES PEOPLE WHO ARE IN THE SERVICE I HOPE YALL WATCH THIS AND LEARN PEOPLE WHO ARE SERVING ARE NOT MURDERERS SERVE TO PROTECT HUMAN RIGHT. HAD A LADY TALK BAD TO A FRIEND OF MINE BECAUSE HE IS IN THE SERVICE FUCKING SLUT HE DEFENDS US AND ILL BE DOING THE SAME SOON

  • @rico20052008 you cant afford to hate like that. those peoples ancestors were probably soldiers who served honourably and their descendants probably will too. they are selfish and will never change. you just do what you gotta do mate and leave those sentiments in the dust. cause you must know there are far more people who are eternally grateful. so be at peace.

  • @rico20052008 The intention is always good - but the conduct of war has been very bad in US hands. too much collateral damage. This defence you're talking about is resulting in too much collateral damage that is tainting america's repo in the world. Same happened in Somalia. Because of indiscriminate rocket attacks on a building where politicians were meeting, the whole population turned against the UN and US had to eventually retreat leaving a mess.

  • @rico20052008 OOH-RAHHH!!!!

  • @rico20052008 You know, I wasn't going to take you seriously, but since you typed that with the caps lock button on I now believe.

  • @rico20052008 Me too bro, me too

  • @rico20052008 God bless you man, and your friend.

  • @rico20052008 What gives another person the right to choose whether they live or die? You think murdering a person in another land is helping the world into a better place? How much of a better place are you making in your own lands? Look around you, drugs, crime, and hate are everywhere in the states. We can't even unite people and encourage peace. It's not about changing the world, it's about letting others live, and for you to create your own life and live along them.

  • @Sun6Tzu and what of the 300,000 starved to death? should no one have at least tried to take a stand for their lives? who would let THEM live?

  • @rico20052008 Well fi you join the marines i'll be there with you.

  • how can 7 people dislike this they don't live in america then

  • i like this movie, i just wish this will happen also to the existing somali pirates somewhere on the coast of africa

  • when i grow up i wanna be like them!

  • aircraft's door closing... very SAD... :(

  • 4:33 nice acoustic play

  • What the movie didn't show were the Malaysian Army's involvement in rescuing the Americans.

  • Good movie even though there were times i felt like i was watching a long recruitment advertisement

  • 3 ways for the US Military has to know and they do know what is the risk. 3 ways coming home.

    1. come home walking

    2. coming home on a wheelchair

    3. coming home in a box

Pray for the troops and give them hope to return home alive.
