  • me like....reminds me of being back in Santa Barbara California...when I first saw my future wife sunbathing in her birthday suit @ the house, oh what a sight to behold over my morning coffee!

  • The only thing wrong with this song is it is not long enough. Needs to be 10 minutes like "Calling Elvis". Both fantastic tunes!

  • I remember watching this on MTV back in ancient history- this is just a flat-out FUN!!!!!!! tune that seems to have been largely forgotten.

Thanks a bazillion for posting it!

  • That's Terry Williams (one of Dave Edmunds drummers) Who is an amazing drummer. Up there with Bernie Dresel in my humble opinion. Why didn't Knopfler ever do any Rockabilly? he was perfect for it?? And he ain't commercial, cos his folk roots have proven that.

    Mikey xx

    knopfler and Setzer.. the album ? ? ? ?

  • terry was from swansea and is a credit to the city

  • This was the song that had everyone dancing at my wedding. Dare I say that such a fun song is perhaps among their best?

  • Good Lord We had pool parties every Saturday night and we all wound up dancing on the pool table before the night was over to this wonderful song

  • I love this song . the beat is so euro neat!

  • One of their best songs and videos. This one always gets me moving.

  • Dire Straits was one of the best bands to come out of the late 70's. They had more talent than 90% of the bands to come and go during the late 70's and 80's. I was sorry to see Pick Withers go but Terry Williams stepped right in without as much as a hiccup. Too bad David Knopfler was only there for the first two records but the touring took a real toll on his relationship with his older brother Mark.

  • 2:48-2:49 poor drummer:) Imagine if He/DS had actually? met these mainly brunette swimmers/GYMnasts/Acrobats/ExtraS! He's face/mouth could have been even more "WOW", expressive @seeing what TRICKs these Ladies do:) Does every1 realiseVid was shot independently,in actual POOL NOT on-stage/in- studio. It's unlikely the parties metUP. Maybe they corresponded by MORSE- code/TELEgraph, LETTER when they got the paycheque 4 filming theVid. 0:27-0:28, 0:30, 0:33 too much Red&Black +sum white, EVERYwhere

  • this is the only video that doesnt show Mark wearin a bandana

  • wrong!, try private investigations and sultans of swing!

  • oh yeah i guess your right about that

  • he does often wear one. ill give u that.

  • Just love the drums at the end. Actually the whole songs brilliant.I worked for a guy called Paul when this was a hit, needless to say we all said we worked for Twistin!!! Happy Days. Thanx for posting.

  • Love this video and song.I was camping in the middle of nowhere in Pennsylvania Elk County Ridgway and this song came blaring from a car sound system all the way to my camp spott.Everyone camping got up out of their camp chairs and danced it was fun.

  • he said in an interview that this song was written and performed at only one day and he just wanted to have some fun because they have worked so much on the album "love over gold"

and then that song, written at only one day..

    mark knopfler is god

  • Synchronized swimming, that!

  • I second the comment about "what" is UNCUT about this version? I just watched the original and this. They are the same to me.

  • what's "uncut" about this?

  • "Uncut" it means without courts, ¿not?

  • maybe he meant the "not remixed" version that was included in the "Money for Nothing" compilation, which was the only version heard in other latitudes.

  • Nice drumming from Terry Williams. He played with Nick Lowe in Rockpile and toured with Meat Loaf once. Nice Paistes too.

  • Is mark usin a pick?

  • Occasionally, when playing rhythm guitar, mostly

  • This song makes me get up off my sit and dance!

  • The greatest band and song writer of modern times, pure bliss

  • Hal Lindes's smile + Knopfler's guitar = bliss.

  • could anything be better? sex and sarcasm all rolled up in one.

  • Just great fun, play each time before I go on vacation!

  • it is like an old rock and roll dream
