It is slated to have a 1.4L diesel engine (in Europe the last I heard) and possibly the 2.0T engine (here in the U.S.) The Blue is VW's eco-friendly term. It is supposed to be a competitor for the Miata MX-5, as this car is a mid-engined sports coupe. And yes, those rims are sick, and I'm not even a fan of chrome but for some reason it works.

@GeneralHoohah First of all, the TT is a front engine car, second of all, the TT is more round and bubbly looking. You would be more accurate to compare this car to an Opel GT/ Saturn Sky. but even then, those other roadsters cant compete with this one's mileage due to it being a diesel. in addition, both cars are designed by the same parent company, so naturally they are going to be similar.

yes its is designed to be fast. i work for vw and they are planning to release it only equipped in a tdi engine (diesel). it is fast due to its aluminum body.

Audi TT is front engine, front or all wheel drive, the BlueSport is mid engined, rear wheel drive. I bet if it does see the light of day that the US would not get the diesel engine, or might not get the car at all, like the new Scirrocco

I drove one in Hungary. It was a secret drive. Really nice car and has that nice deisel thrust you expect. Nice, I have to say. They told me it would be out around 2012.

Sarcasm is very hard to show and even harder to appreciate on the internets. I have driven the DSG in the A3 and I like it FOR AN AUTO but I have an extreme hatred of 2-pedal cars except the Powerglide. I like control and an auto just doesn't have it.
