But since the FPS genre is being lifted to a new level by games like M.A.G., ArmA2 and Flashpoint 2 (ie. massive amounts of players) it might just become a hell of a lot more fun than it already is now.
And i a few years we'll see perfected versions of games like Fuel, huge environments and multiplayer with (hopefully) more than 30 players or so.
As technology rises, so will the amount of fun games are.
If you plan on expanding your mind through video games, play an RTS, or any strategy game, Civilization being the most difficult mind expanding...Trust me...FPS doesn't teach you anything other than how to reload a gun...No game is suppose to teach you anything, or even tell a story! Pac-man required you to use imagination, but of course game designers noticed that movie makers get to touch boobs, so they also made movies. Games=pure entertainment, don't jizz your pants over a simple FPS...

I think this game will be very good. The PvP looks Awsome and the graphics are better than WoW. Will this be the game that draws attention for WoW...we can only hope because 2years of WoW I'm alittle tired myself.
One of the only things I dont like about this game is that there is no Stealth class. Well I went to gamestop today and paid for it and am picking it up 9/17/08. It's $49.99 and I think $14.99 a month. And f.y.i. there is no collectors edition ATM. TY

Yea i agree. To pvp looks horrible. IVe seen couple of WAR pvp videos now and its like all the same, u run into a sack on enemies and start autohitting.
OF course could be cos its not yet released that all that cool pvp tricks that have been found out in wow havnt been figured out yet in WAR and WARs pvp gets alot better when u get "real players" there.

Wow used to have nice world pvp until battlegrounds... Then again, this seems to need sort of a teamwork to have any sense at all. Wonder if there actually is any, at least in WoW it tends to be so that unless u have a premade group for pvping, ur on ur own...
There are many things that contribute to your realm's success in RVR.
First, there are Open World objectives, which count the most towards your side winning. This would be Guild Keeps & Sieges, Castles, and that kind of thing. Second is Scenarios, which is basically like a battleground. Third, even PvEing, you can help your realm push your way towards their capital.
As your realm slowly pushes their way back, they can reach the other's capital city, where they can loot and pillage the town

Honestly, I'm looking looking forward to WAR Online since I have been sick and tired of wow since a year ago, so basically anything new would be great. Even though I know WAR Online is still in beta, this just ain't impressive. The pvp in WOW suck ass and world pvp is non-existing, that's a fact. wow has been out for 3 years with constant updates + new expansions, nothing can match it, unless a game has better graphics + better balance that is all.
DAoC and LoTRO both beat WoW in graphics, but I'm not so sure about balance for LoTRO. I know DAoC's balance isn't that great. Casters and Vampiires (or however you spell it) are over-powered.
Oh GOD! A WoW has constant updates and expansions? IMPOSSIBLE.

Honestly, I don't think I've ever seen a game change very much graphically going from beta stages to release day. This is going to be another cartoon WoW lookalike and everyone knows it.
Graphics are the EASIEST and fastest things to change, you just have to put a hi res skin on top of a low res one,and BOOM! good graphics.
If you havent seen anything more than this video then you havent seen how much the game has improved. It already has better graphics than WoW, and theres 4 months to go untill release.
Plus, there's the fact that DAoC doesn't have cartoonish graphics, therefore they aren't going to use them now. Some might say that might change since being bought out by EA, but being bought out by a big company like EA Games won't make things worse; like in that podcast when Paul talked about how they got to use an ACTUAL recording studio that they didn't get to use for DAoC. If anything, things will be better. And yeah, new screenshots compared to old ones show how graphics have gotten better
I disagree... I'm personally bored of WoW but I still think that without it the MMO industry would not be an industry that developers choose to develop for. It sets a benchmark for other MMOs and it is still widely recognised as the best in class (personal opinions aside).

Yea i agree. To pvp looks horrible. IVe seen couple of WAR pvp videos now and its like all the same, u run into a sack on enemies and start autohitting.
OF course could be cos its not yet released that all that cool pvp tricks that have been found out in wow havnt been figured out yet in WAR and WARs pvp gets alot better when u get "real players" there.
But from looking 3 videos here on youtube, I wouldn't waste my money on this horrible looking shit.

How is the pvp system in WAR? Is it like all world pvp, or does it have sort of a "battleground" system like wow?
Wow used to have nice world pvp until battlegrounds... Then again, this seems to need sort of a teamwork to have any sense at all. Wonder if there actually is any, at least in WoW it tends to be so that unless u have a premade group for pvping, ur on ur own...

There are many things that contribute to your realm's success in RVR.
First, there are Open World objectives, which count the most towards your side winning. This would be Guild Keeps & Sieges, Castles, and that kind of thing. Second is Scenarios, which is basically like a battleground. Third, even PvEing, you can help your realm push your way towards their capital.
As your realm slowly pushes their way back, they can reach the other's capital city, where they can loot and pillage the town

Warhammer Online is all about team work and realm pride, so you shouldn't have a problem with it like WoW (for the most part, at least).

Honestly, I'm looking looking forward to WAR Online since I have been sick and tired of wow since a year ago, so basically anything new would be great. Even though I know WAR Online is still in beta, this just ain't impressive. The pvp in WOW suck ass and world pvp is non-existing, that's a fact. But the pvp in these WAR gameplay videos appear to be pretty lame. There's no speed, no action. I truly hope I'm wrong, but I fear that a lot of people will get disapointed.

-4 crappy instanced bg's that don't demonstrate PVP at all, and "world pvp" that doesn't seem to exist anymore
-arena pvp is only good for some teams builds (warlock druid / druid anything)
-resilience...need i say more?
the old pvp rank system was actually creative and kept me playing all the time. now, people can farm honor and get their crappy arena gear for PVE. but don't worry, warhammer is on it's way!

DAoC and LoTRO both beat WoW in graphics, but I'm not so sure about balance for LoTRO. I know DAoC's balance isn't that great. Casters and Vampiires (or however you spell it) are over-powered.

Graphics are the EASIEST and fastest things to change, you just have to put a hi res skin on top of a low res one,and BOOM! good graphics.
If you havent seen anything more than this video then you havent seen how much the game has improved. It already has better graphics than WoW, and theres 4 months to go untill release.

Plus, there's the fact that DAoC doesn't have cartoonish graphics, therefore they aren't going to use them now. Some might say that might change since being bought out by EA, but being bought out by a big company like EA Games won't make things worse; like in that podcast when Paul talked about how they got to use an ACTUAL recording studio that they didn't get to use for DAoC. If anything, things will be better. And yeah, new screenshots compared to old ones show how graphics have gotten better

I disagree... I'm personally bored of WoW but I still think that without it the MMO industry would not be an industry that developers choose to develop for. It sets a benchmark for other MMOs and it is still widely recognised as the best in class (personal opinions aside).
