What you hear here is the unreleased Stock & Aitken production Sing Me A Memory, featuring Neil Sean on vocals. According to the man himself this was recorded in 2 takes and while Mike played the piano, Matt was doing the mix on this track.

The song is the theme tune to UK's long running soap Coronation Street and has lyrics by Mike & Matt. It was meant to be a single to co-incide with the release of Coronation Street's Viva Las Vegas video, but unfortunately the single was pulled.

It's basically a cheapened, not as good as, version of the eternal original. What's the point of changing it if you don't modernise it? It still sounds old fashioned! It's terrible. You've completely ruined it! It doesn't make me feel anything. It's cold, and cheap. Why do you think the theme wasn't changed for 50 years? Because it is TIMELESS. Like a Beethoven symphony. Are you going to update Emily Nugent next? Or Ken Barlow?

I love Corrie! I've known it all my life, but it wasn't until the Richard Hillman Storyline that I really got into it. Mind you I do remember various things from it before all that. I know it's nothing for people like my dad who've watched it since it's creation but I'm proud to be a fan for one of the 5 decades it's been around for :) It'll only get better!
