it sounds ridiculous but this is the most disturbing song i can remember.
I cant even talk to people anymore when i listen to this song to long. Even Tassels and Hankie is less disturbing in my opinion. Hankie is also terrible

The whole album for some reason goes really great with the "Rama" series books by Arthur C Clark. I used to love reading them and listening to this at the same time.. could have been soundtrack music if they ever turned the books into movies.
Seriously, why isn't spooky stuff like this in games like Half-Life? Pretty sure the fear factor would skyrocket and it would just be the sound messing with your head...no enemies at all...
@HazzardousEco if you have played portal 2, valve did context sensitive music in that, so there possibly maybe context sensitive ambient spooky music in the next half life!!!
his ambiance work is superb, not many can reach this type of imagery in music, aphex twin is hands down the best ambiance music producer. his braindace and breakbeat stuff is really good to, but for break beat and what not i like squarepusher the most, aphex is a god in ambiance music though.
it makes me feel like im in my room in the dark playing FEAR. i used to listen to this album over and over when i was 18 i love it its the best ambient work ever made so far. proove me wrong!
It's a dreamlike and eerie track off a great, atmospheric album. I doubt I'd like any other entire album by Aphex Twin, tho; it is the ambient stuff I easily like the best.
I have a load of footage taken from abandoned buildings which i will eventually use in a video like this.I think you should do the same.Ambient music over unused things are a perfect match. Some of the scariest stuff ive seen has been random scenes of nothing with ambience playing.
@muscarines what software did you use for the effects?

@TootAzraq A very old version of Sonic Foundry's Vegas 4

Truly pschedelic. The strangeness of the mundane. The insistent tactile presence.

I'm sure I read somewhere that they did use something from this album in a Half-Life add-on

This is very much like how a tree is. The waves sound like seasons to me. Blooming and dying...
