This is too a Doors demo, this is from their acetate 6 song demo tape that they brought to the record companies in 1965. It is shocking because it doesn't sound like Jim but it is!
jim es algo fuera de serie solo por estar muerto quiza es algo sensalionacista nose estoy algo confudido la mierda progresista que esta a ultima hora pobre insulto
at first i thought this was from a tribute band called the the doors demos and i thought yeah this is one of the best covers i ever heard and then i realised this is the doors
The time of this demo is in transformation between "Rick & the Ravens" & "The Doors". September 2nd, 1965 is this record. & "The Doors" was found in October 1965.
Jim is singing along with someone else. Before Robby. 1965. Also on demo, Hello I Love You, End of the Night, Go Insane(awesome) Summers Almost Gone, Moonlight Drive.
Yea it is them- its just a very early version. Demo or something that was unreleased until they put it in the box set. I prefer the later version myself but its interesting to hear them at their early state.
yeah its not jim at all.. i know ray was involved but i think it was rays brother or cousin that did the vocals for the early doors songs.. like this end of the night.. moonlight drive and some others i cant remember right now.. but yeah Jim did not sing this version..
The demo versions are treat! Original Doors LPs never printed lyrics. I never knew till checking online minutes ago that the last lines read: "Eyes have seen you Let them photograph your soul Memorize your alleys On an endless roll..." -Lines to savour, but I never got 'em before today! Trivia I did know before: "My eyes have seen you Free from disguise Gazing on a city under Television skies...", refers to when Jim slept on a rooftop at Venice, with tall TV aerials visible in every backyard!
no they're trying to recreate sth that has no meaning in these times, they can accept the fact that the doors are a clasic and a beautiful memory. now they're killing the magic and the misticism and the doors are no longer sth legendary,
Me again Regardingwave. This is awful. I can see why they dropped Ray's brothers. Jim hadnt yet found his voice either. Thanks for the rarity. Peace out.
you're absolutly right, Jim sounds extremly different than what he sounded like later, his voice is amazing, my favourite is when it got all bluesy, heavy like in LA Woman, the Changeling, my guess is you know the list...

This Is Before Robbie Joins The Doors...Hmm..Now I Get it...It's Pretty Good...But The Dark Version It's Much Better...End Of The Night Especially!!!
GmManze 2 years ago
These early versions of the songs are a lot of fun. They are more light-headed, not that "dark".
genatzvalee 2 years ago
It's Jim backed by Ray.
Ray is playing the piano, not organ.
Harmonica played by Ray's brother.
They were only together for a few months at this point, Robbie wasn't there.
It was done in 65'.

I love the refrain ... you can hear them almost break into singing "You really got me! You really got me!"
Why is everyone hating on them for "not having found their sound"? Don't be lame. This is seriously rad.

As in most Doors songs Jim wrote the lyrics and Ray wrote the actual music.
