In my opinion, nice try. You hit most of the notes, but I didn't feel the emotion that this song is supposed to convey. This is such a powerful song and it didn't come across as genuine to me. That is a better version of the song than the original. This is a much more paired back version of the song and would live easily in any performance space. Nice use of the effects pedal and amp.

Ps. Michael gets a lot of negative stuff in the British press far and above what he deserves. Many do no know that his 'dark period' was because of the death of his lover followed soon after by the death of his mother.

Hmmm. As much as I hate to admit it, I guess I don't listen without prejudice (I don't remember that album either). my gear...? it's an old japanese surf guitar from the 60's with no identifiable markings on it as far as make or anything. I'm playing it through an KJL Companion amp, which is an 18 watt 1/12 class A combo, with some delay and trem. It's just a DD5, and a TR2 or whatever that green Boss trem is called. Pretty cool sound though.
