  • I love Python and John Cleese, but I don't know about all this "best interview I've ever seen"

  • Awesome

  • Brilliant

  • I almost pissed my pants! Absolutely FUCKING hilarious!

  • john, je veux coucher avec toi.

  • Are Letterman's questions quite serious?

  • @ImperialGeorge They are serious but I am not sure if they are quite serious.

  • cleese looked quite handsome

  • @richie8811 dashing and English ;-)

  • I love you John Cleese...:)

  • John Cleese at his best.

  • Why the fuck did they start making toast? Hahaha

  • Holy fu$%, David Letterman has gotten younger.

  • 'No, we don't celebrate Independence Day in England.' XD

  • He is wonderful in Taming of the Shrew. You can find it on Netflix.

And his series of Office Etiquette.

  • I almost died from laughter!

  • The best interview david has ever made to ;)

  • John's a better comedian than David ;)

  • Back then I think Cleese was still hot. Now it's gone.

  • I knew he would completely steal the show

  • actually i think the audience was having a blast with him. hes one of those guys that when he's about to say something u wait in anticipation cause u know its going to be really clever and hilarious. he delivers every line beautifuly

  • I'm embarrassed to say I do actually crucify a gerbil on September 4th.

  • Disliked this vid when I dropped my phone on the track pad - mistake! Cancel one of the dislikes. Sorry.

  • @PaulJuliusSokoloff There's a difference between getting a joke and finding it funny. I'm a "Yank" and I got the joke immediately, but it just didn't come off as funny for some reason. Humor is a difficult thing to explain and if you even try to explain it, then it won't be funny anymore.

  • @yurismir1 If you listen to the 2 or 3 that laugh out loud (the few that git the joke), it proves that it went above most people's heads, including Letterman.

If you are a Cleese fan, you know he hates the weather in Britian and makes fun of it, especially in Faulty Towers.

  • Greatest Late-night talk show interview I have ever seen!

  • pruning hedgehogs hahaha

  • i cracked when he mentioned our lord

  • FINALLY!!!! I have been looking for this for ages.

    The brilliance that IS...John Cleese.

  • Denim shirt with yellow tie. Awesome.

  • "by number, not by weight." love it.

  • funniest interview i've ever seen!

  • Hint of the Four weddings and one funeral scene here?

  • Cleese is fucking amazing. I'm spellbound by him. What a talent

  • Uh,, 'at the end of the 5 days, there's very often a DRAW (stalemate)' not tie. Ties are extremely rare,

One day cricket is about 7 hours and more recently there is a 2 hour game called Twenty20.

  • dependence day, crucifing gerbils,"ummmm...sorry..."

everything he says is absolute genius

    JOHN CLEESE IS GOD!!

  • He introduces him as a "talented writer, writer and producer"

Does Cleese even need an introduction?

  • @pretzelberg writer, writer?

  • @pretzelberg

    Writer, producer & performer

  • YES CRICKET IS 2ND MOST POPULAR SPORT IN THE WORLD NOW.

  • I love it how while Dave is passing him all the things Cleese just continues talking, relaxed, like he's at a friend's house. This man is a legend.

  • There is a lot of sarcastic jokes on this. Hahaha, hillarious.

  • wow is this routine on holidays improvised? If it is the man is more brilliant than I ever thought!

  • @luizcadu he was being sarcastic. it's always funny to be sarcastic.

  • @luizcadu Yeah, it will be.. its basically python humour, really silly and random. I.e. pruning hedgehogs and crucifying gerbils.

  • HE"S CLEAN SHAVEN! O.0

  • haha!, John Cleese is crackers... love it at 2:57 when somebody basically shits themselves laughing.

  • wow they dont hav toast on letterman any more lol

  • funny as hell! John is very witty, not to mention his intellect.

  • Hilarious

  • John's simply amazing

  • Thanks! He looks great! I think a lot of his British humor went over the heads of the Americans. Well, it was only 1988!

  • @JaneEva quit treating north americans like their complete idiots,

there was nothing that would go over anyone's head if they have one

  • Comment removed

  • @JaneEva totally agree with you there.

  • @JaneEva think the Americans would have evolved by now ?
