Deng Linlin is great and put her in the team was a great idea!!!!! The Olympic Team was perfect in Beijing!!! Anyway, this balance beam is perfect: I love you Xiao Sha!!!
The balance beam indeed is her strong point, but she is very stable in other three instrument's performance,so I also did not understand why she does fail to be elected Beijing Olympic Games..
China needs Deng linlin's VT and Fx. I think she failed in the competition between Li Shanshan and her. But I prefer Xiao Sha to Li Shanshan. Xiao Sha could be a backup for Fx.
reports said that xiao sha lacks the mental toughness. she is good at beam, but less versatile, with the new 633 rule, she is at a disadvantage. (though li shanshan performed on beam only in the team final)
deng linlin doesnt hv high difficulty score, but coach lu said that her execution is consistent
She did not get picked for the Chinese Olympic Team. I haven't a clue why, because she's better than Deng Linlin, and she has more experience, but they won, so it's possible they would have lost with Xiao Sha.
Xiao Sha is just as great as the other Chinese gymnist but I would say she's one of the better beam gymnist in their team. Could have done well in the beam competition, too! :)
I like Ksenia Semenova, I do like Nastia Liukin, I feel she tries to bring grace and artistry into her work, I love He Kexin's bar routine(who doesnt??),I like Alexandra Ghita(a young Romanian, havent seen much of her, I think she may be injured?), and Steliana Nistor sticks her landings like no other! Some of the Russian juniors look very good, Daria Elizarova is excellent.
I think I am the only one who is not falling over with admiration for the routines of this girl and Li ShanShan. To me, they look like typical Chinese routines; they almost all contain a sheep jump, or a Yang Bo leap or jump, punch front salto, and why are two gymnasts doing the exact same routine???Those who freak out over the first pass(BH-BH-LO0Korbut Flic) have obviously never seen some of the very difficult routines of the past.
I can't speak for everyone else, but what impresses me is the precision of the moves, the poised landings, the artistry and a mastered sense of calm and fluidity. Many Romanian gymnasts don't take chances and while many American gymnasts do, as others, they sometimes lack the precision and poise with the skills themselves and the landings. Can I ask-what kind of gymnasts do you like?
I like the gymnasts and gymnastics of the 70's80s90s; I like Aurelia Dobre, Daniela Silivas, Nadia Comaneci, Olga Korbut, Soviet gymnasts, Yang Bo, Tatiana Groshkova. I liked the Romanian 2004 Olympic champions.I agree about how precise and "deliberate" Xiao's moves are, but you should watch Yang Bo's beam routines.
True, but a typical Chinese routine on BB and UB is usually great! Huge difficulty, gorgeous flow, great amplitude, elegance and grace. It might seem repetitive, but it's exciting to watch every single time! And it's really unfair to compare any gymnast to Yang Bo, arguably the best beam worker of all time!
i think it was a nice decision to take away that one BHS 2 feet because she gets too much hieght on that Lay out that sometimes she cannot control the landing
I love Xiao Sha, but I'm really bummed that they decided to take some of the originality out of the beginning of her beam routine. I loved her old aerial mount, and her BHS-2 feet, BHS-2 feet, LO-2 feet. Now her opening is exactly the same as Li Shanshan's.
i saw about 0.3 in deductions plus her landing, but u know the judges will always find some tiny deduction somewhere. "she took a big breath--0.1P!" lol

Yes,Deng Linlin is good at VT,Fx and BB and excellent in Beijing~
But i disagree with your second point, beacuse Li shanshan is also a best beam worker in the worId,in the same way,He Kexin is only good at UB~
Anyway,They are the hope of winning a medal~
michelleyuk1989 2 years ago
Yes, but she is also inconsistent. Xiao Sha has greater quality than Li Shanshan on beam especially the layout and leaps.

That was beautiful. Are the commentators speaking Porteguese?
anulay 3 years ago
yes, for some reason porteguese commentaters feel the need to talk throughout the entire routine.....non stop....

Actually there are a couple of American commentators that are notoriously bad at doing that as well. So I'm kind of used to it by now.
