The dead give-away (aside from the totally out of sync audio and video) is the fact that Ringo Starr walked out of the recording studio and Paul McCartney actually did the drums on the recording. Ringo never played the song-until much later whn he sat in with the Beach Boys at a reunion concert where they covered this tune. Nice try.
if you were there you would get it, that the song was from their last real experimental album, the white album, and the video from old ed sullivan stuff early 60s. the filmmakers did their best. word has it, the album was a hommage to all the musicians of the time that influenced them (elvis, berry, buddy holly, etc.). of course here, the writing of chuck berry's back in the usa, covered a few years later more famously by ronstadt, there vocal was here was a take-off on the beach boys.
@riceski Dude! Thank you. You're a riot, my very first ACTUAL "lmaol". At two am!! room mates almost called an exorcist. I didn't play the clip, I knew it was crap by seeing the tittle and thumbnail, just curious to see the insults and curses at rfrsaju =Alas, I only found some bozos trying to figure if it was fake or what was wrong= But you, my friend, you solved the mystery! (and almost got me evicted) You SARCASTIC GENIUS! +Cheers from Mexico+ Jeez...I'm giggling like a maniac
Ringo has never played that song . The Beach Boys played "Back in the U.S.S.R." when Ringo Starr joined them for a live show. It is the only time he is known to have performed the song.
@Sc0pExOnABoat they weren't because Ringo had "quit" the beatles for about 2 weeks when they wrote this song and "Dear Prudence" so Paul did drums when they played live and for studio versions john made a drum track the only time Ringo EVER performed this song live was with "The Beach Boys" so the video they are singing something else
The footage is an anachronism, as this song is from 1968 and the footage is from 1964... and in The Beatles '68 looked very different from their early days... and the engine noise throughout the track is just very annoying...
@kidcalabria You are right about everything. The engine noise is actually from the original track on the album though. It's not something the uploader added to the track. I have the record (actually its a CD, but it's still the same), and the engine sound is from the original recording.
@beninua Oh... alright. Thanks for pointing that out (the thing about the engine noise, I mean. Actually, seeing the video again I think one could guess it was on the original audio). Perish the thought then... : )
they certainly aren't singing this song or song like this. The outfits here that they are wearing are from the very early years when they did only love songs - a bit before they discovered psychedelics and went very creative
The song in the video they are playing is either Please Please Me or Love Love Me Do off the Ed Sullivan show nice try to put it together but selling it as Back in the USSR... Uhm not.. Nice try though..
@Sc0pExOnABoat Thats probably because the video isnt from a live recording. Honestly I would say this is just the original recording with screams in the background. But you never know since the beatles were fucking awesome live! :P
@FoBocsm Yes you're right, this is a bad montage with a full of differents video songs like : "I Wanna hold your hand" "I Feel fine" etc ... Bullshit montage but right sound ..
@refrsaju The sync is horrible and the sound not much better. I enjoy seeing the Beatles as much as anybody but it didn't even look like they were singing the same song and the noise was terrible!
