This is great! It's American ingenuity at its best! Don't let people like shookwood below discourage you. Codes and enforcement of codes only serve to stifle the spirit of invention, and make money for the people controlling our energy. They'll try to tell you it's about safety, but it's about keeping money in their pockets. This is still America, and a man should be, and is responsible for his own safety and comfort. So do it safe, and keep inventing!
I live in the just outside of Batesville AR, there are no codes here. And as for my contraption, I do what I have to to keep us warm and safe, if its ugly or cheap, I don't care. It worked and now I'm making it more efficient with a boiler.
Find an old 250 gallon oblong oil barrel or farm fuel barrel.cut it open enough to insulate the heck out of the inside of it,then cut your stack, outlet, and inlet holes then stick the stove inside it and weld it shut over the hole where you install the stove except for where the loading door will be.Also buy insulated ductwork from menards.the trick is to insulate, insulate, insulate.Build a small metal chamber to put the squirrelcage fan in and mount to the heating chamber

Apparently you live where there are no code restrictions. This contraption would never pass code requirements where I live.
