  • This is AWESOME!!!!!!!! ROCK ON!!!!!

  • Were they responding to the Dollar Menu at McDonalds?

  • Nice vid!

Dang! Someone not knowing about the parade must've been thinking 'twas the end of the world, or something!

  • FIRST TIME I HAVE SEEN THIS IN CHICAGO AND I GREW UP HERE IM 43 AND A RETIRED AUX POLICE ...LOVE THE TRUCKS, THE CLOSEST THING I HAVE SEEN TO THIS WAS 4TH OF JULY IN NORTHERN SUBURBS AND CHI , EMERGENCY VEHICLE SHOW. CHICAGO NEEDS MORE ACTIVITY LIKE THIS ITS GOOD FOR THE ECONOMY AND US TRUCK NERDS...

  • If anyone is interested in seeing antique fire apparatus, the Fire Buffs of Illinois & the 5-11 Club are having their annual muster @ the Chicago Fire Academy, June 18, 2011 starting about 8 am til about 3 pm. Thanks for posting this video. It is great to see old friends & beautiful apparatus. We are trying to have a parade again this year. It's always a lot of fun for everyone.

  • imagine sitting in top pf one of those rigs the entire parade. I would go deaf. WHAT?????

  • Beautiful trucks!

  • Does anyone know who made the wig-wag light on the nose of the red/white ALF 700 that begins @ 3:30? I've only seen a few of those lights and I've never been able to find out what they were called.

  • why was there a tow truck with a siren on it?

  • Great video! I just moved to Chicago. Do they still do this? Absolutely love the windy city!

  • man, i have only been through Chicago, but i have always admired them for the best lookin' fire apparatus anywhere , i think a runner up would be DC.

  • i love the old ambulance behind the black fire truck ....i live in TN. do u know if theres anything like this out here the prade's i mean

  • Now thats alot of fire trucks.. I bet the fire will go out byself if it saw this many trucks

  • The sirens at 1:30 whats that called?

  • This was a really cool video. Hard to believe this was almost exactly thirteen years ago! Thanks for posting it.

  • @GabriellaMontezSucks YEAH, It is hard for me to believe also. LOL

  • @zaffdoc I was only ten and just a few weeks from starting fifth grade. I originally thought that all fire trucks and engines had what we all love: Mechanical sirens, jake brakes, airhorns, and everything that it fit to serve a firefighter's task. I do like how CFD stands out with everything they have. I love originality and it is always best to be a leader, not a follower.

  • I love that squirt!

  • where were all the good fire trucks

  • some arent even chicago fd

  • @mxmbronco But it was in Chicago.

  • bless you doc for posting this

  • thts mine and my dads 700 series at 1:56

  • Very nice video.

I uploaded a video I shot of a parade in honour of the voluntary fire brigade of Dieren that celebrated there 100 anniversary (small town in the Netherlands)

  • was this filmed in 1997 and at 2:06 that did not seem like an accurate siren for that truck

  • I generally put the date of the videos I take in the description which is in the upper right hand corner of the channel under my picture.

  • @lordvader665 I know. According to some reading from web sites, CFD used EMS/police type sirens from about 1985 to 2001/2002. One of those is the Federal Signal PA 300. I like the loudness and sound of it, but CFD should have used its variety of mechanical sirens to this day. At least the EQ2B is an improvement (although strange in some ways). This is still a cool video though. I really liked it.

  • @lordvader665 the siren you heard was at 2:12 not at 2:06.

  • was this Filmed in 1997?

  • There wouldn't need to a fire that day all the firetrucks are in the city:L

  • We have one here in Town just like the one a 2:59

  • 2:30 I fell in love!

  • nice video

  • yea that is a nice rig at 2:20:)
