Growing up in the Lower East Side this song "brings back those memories" from club hopping to just driving and listening to freestyle. Remembering the 1018 and Palladium days when freestyle was on top of its game....Still loving it!
This video was about the time I saw them back in 1987 when they opened up for Lisa Lisa and the Cult Jam, I think it was the Exposure tour. This group live can make almost anyone who says they don't dance suddenly start. The people in the crowd that couldn't dance were trying to dance anyway. It was kinda funny.
I remember 21 years ago my mom listened to expose all the time, dam I miss the good old days!! I can't fucking stand todays music, I just wanna tell today's singers to shut the hell up! If only I can go back in time!!!
i heard they used to have some backstage brawls with eachother - especially right before the filming of this video -i remember the video host said thats the reason they are wearing so much makeup powder to cover up all the scratches and bruises - anyone else ever hear that? oh the music was still cool :)
DO NOT ASSOCIATE MY GREAT MUSIC OF THE 80S AND 90S WITH YOUR DOUCHEBAG PHONY NON-TALENT OF TODAY WHATEVER U CALL IT , CANT BE OUTDONE THAT IS THAT , HA HA NOKE CLEVELAND 1986 WAS A LOVELY JAMMIN BEST GREATEST TIMES OF ALL , EVER KAPOOT DONE STICK A FORK WHATEVER. LATER FAGS
I like new music. I don't understand why so many who like the old music have to hate the new music. Tbh, I like it all. I even listen to some of the big band out of the 40's. I've started listening to Johnny Cash some, and I've never cared for country. Lately, for some reason, I've started liking some of it.
But whatever. I would just encourage you all to keep an open mind about all music and not have to hate it. Ever looked up Christina Aguilera? Fairly new and can SING.
@Felegund1 It's not that I hate new music. I like Christina and Britney, but the music I grew up on has a nostalgia for me that Britney and Christina and Kelly and all the new artists don't have for me. It's why I prefer it more, but I certainly don't HATE new music. I just love nostalgia.
How fun it can be sometimes? i was just listening to my oldmusic cassettewith recorded music from 80-85 and just found this disco song?? At first it sound like it was one of Madonnas earlyer songs from her debut albums, then when i made a search by the song tittle then I saw it was this teenage girl group! I must say I dont recall of have any memories of this group? maybe it was one of these like many others " on hit wonder" ?
who remembers L'AMOUR EAST on Queens Boulevard, Queens, NYC (1985-1987)? They used to have Teen Night (13 yrs old and up) once a month on Fridays (no alcohol). Parents waited outside, (or inside watching their daughters ;o)
I agree with lilrican today's music sucks. I've tried listening to all that crap. Nothing like kool rock steady ,fast Eddie, Hiphouse not Hiphop, I could go on and on. Latin freestyle for life best music every.
I rushed to the store and bought the cassette of this album in Feb 1987 when this song first entered the top 40 - one of my favorite songs of all time !! I thought Gioia was so hot ! LOL
When I was a kid we had the club on fridays right after school. We would get on a bus that would bring us to Great Skate. We would be there for hours skating to this and Expose, Cover Girls, ect, chasing girls, ect. God that was fun. I forgot all about Great Skate.
If these girls were dogs they would be two german shepherds and a chihuahua... love the chihuahua, she's classy... and the german shepherds are sexy...Lol
Saw Expose at freestyle explosion here in LA earlier this year.... They still got it!!! Expose, Cover Girls, and LIsa LIsa were the top performers....
@jamesbond504 lmao........ No doubt man! Although, I saved a lot of my tapes & CDs and so I have references to get songs for my Ipod and that's pretty much all I listen to.
One of the forgotten girl groups of the 80's, Exposè pumped out a number of tracks that are among my favorites from the 80's. They went through a lineup change when Gioya Bruno (I forgot how to spell her first name, sorry) was replaced with Kelly Moneymaker. They were able to harmonize better with Kelly in Gioya's place, but eked out just 2 hits in the early 90's before disappearing from the music scene.
the dj played this song every night. i would show up early so i could have the dance floor to myself. the guys thought i was either drunk or crazy. they were right on both counts. first there was the key change, then they went up an octave. i tore the roof off the m'fer.
The 1970s had Disco.. and then the 1980s had new wave and punk and all kinds of different music fusions. The 90s had a mix but once we got into the 21st century the good music to move to.. stopped...
stop saying wish i was there. you can be there now ,bring it back you have the power, how? request it , play it , get it , this time help make it main stream. cause this water down hip sh?t sounds that like old skool hip house garbage. 2 days music really does suck. wayne , jon , bull etc. even lady gaga! black eye pea's1 sing shit don't rap, i miss listen to the radio in the 80's and med 90's best music and times
@lilrican1971 I live in Los Angeles, And the best shit is when i took my wife to this club called Quiet Canon and they had this mini concert featuring Stevie B & Trinere Johnny O & more live performances, Brought back soo many good times, Yup The rap shit on the radio is played out....
Is it me or does all the music from this era have a similar sound? All of these songs ---- Nu Shooz, I can't wait; Expose; Banamara ---- are all the same.
Can you imagine being in a night club in the 1980's and hearing this tune as the dance floor fills with people? I can, I did, I do. I lived and loved it.
@007jimmymac Yessir!! Me Too!! Remember how the dance floor would get so full that it'd spill out into the lounge area. People would be dancing among the tables and chairs. Great Times!
Now these are Classy, Talented ladies singing songs. Not the talentless, showing-my-crotch-to-the public CRETANTS like Gaga, Beyonce, Rihanna & the likes! Man, I miss this type of music!

I am 22 years old and had never heard this song until last week.....I was in the club and the DJ played it during one of his retro sets and man it rocked the place.....I asked him who the woman was who sang the the song and he told me it was a female group named Expose.....after checking out this video and a couple of their other ones [especially the song named SEASONS CHANGE] I can tell these were some classy ladies who could really and make some great music
haven't heard this song in sooooooooo long.. one of my favorites.. oh how I miss the 80's.. Cover Girls, Expose', Sweet Sensation, Michael Jackson were 4 of the best and still are. Music today sux. Long live the 80's.
@RCMTChawaii the lead singer is Giolia Bruno-a good singer until her voice gave out,i also liked Jeanette growing up in S Florida in the 80's saw them alot
@SnowbirdFlock That's awesome but however Expose was not strictly a club act. They were actually played a lot on pop radio back in their prime. And this song here was their first hit on the pop charts and by April 1987 it peaked at #5 on the charts. So Expose really got a good start for 1987 and they should of gotten the Best New Artist Grammy.
this song has alot of mad rythems, I thought at first it was gloria stephon, shoot I'm glad I was wrong, so much this group had, I'm glad this was caught forever in time. they are so beautiful.
This song is hot!

I don't like freestyle music at all. But Expose and Cover Girls were the only exception along with Lisa Lisa and Cult Jam.

One the best Expose songs along with "Point of No Return".

@Heegoop Yes indeed! I saw & heard this in my favourite dance club in 1987. Good to see it again!

One of the Top Ten Dance Songs of All Time. Expose ruled dance music from 1986-1987 lol. Long reign, I know!
