  • please mattias, show us more! i absolutely love your videos ;)

  • @asdasf42 One more will go up tomorrow! Then I'm afraid you'll have to be patient as nothing else is planned post-Music Making Month. A lot of cool content to check out on the YouTube channel though!

  • i got reason 4 - record 1.0 but it doesn´t work to reverse a part like u did.

  • @intensityxc Reverse and Normalize were options introduced in Record 1.5 which is a free download when you upgrade to Reason 5. Sorry about that!

  • @AnosouMattias ahh i understand. i get it this month :D. looking forward. thank u

  • Wow, now there is absolutely no reason for me to use Acid...moment of silence...

  • thank yoU!

  • WHY CAN'T REASON OPEN UP AUDIO FILES LIKE THAT :(((

  • nm figured it out!

  • How did you change the look of your ReFill folder?

  • Hi Mattias, seen you on the PUF a bit, this video was excellent i picked up more than a few useful tips thank you!!

  • fantastic - new technique for me to play around with - thanks!

  • great vid, def was an eye opener

  • Great Video Tutorial Mattias

    THanks A Million

  • Mattias, thanks for making this! I took the attitude that using loops was pretty lazy, this is a very good technique to use premade loops and make them your own! When I started out with creating music, it was with premade loops with Sony Acid, but when I discovered reason, it blew my mind because you could just make everything from scratch, which is a desirable thing for me! always been my artistic view on loops, is "they're not your own." well, this changes things for me, thanks again!

  • Wow, great demonstration! I've been using Acid Pro (since version 3), but after seeing this may have to give Record a try. Thanks for the great video...

  • Thanks...just when I think I am getting bored, I can watch someone do something I have not thought of before......brand new inspired vibe.

    Thanks

  • 07:24, I wish my refills were that organized! Thanks for the video Matthias. So simple, and a very effective way to start a new song.

  • I tried this out. This is awesome! I have a PC and when I hold the alt key it switches to the pencil tool. When I hold the shift key the little clock appears and when I stretch out the file, it slows down to the bpm's my song is set to. It does not time stretch the clip. What could I be doing wrong? I did just what you did. I even watched the video over again as I was doing it. What could I be doing wrong?

  • Great video! More than enough info on your propellerheads YouTube channel to make hits! Props!

  • Just as i thougt i'd never see a tutorial from PH again, they uploaded this monster ! THX !

  • @theoneandonlyhut What makes you think there will never be another tutorial? I never said I was not going to do more.. just that the 52 Tips series was ending... ;-)

  • I hadn't thought of loading loops as audio files, i used to do that a lot in ableton live.

  • Awesome video, thanks for these tips. They come in handy for someone like me who hasn't used Record before.

  • Mattias, as you were explaining this awesome technique, I was like "eh, I usually do this with a Dr.OctoRex (including the audio reverse) or a bunch of them and a 6:2 mixer with Solo automation or through CV" ...until you hit the clip Time Stretching part :P

Then I just had to "ooooooh, now that's a cool use of that in there :D" ...and then I also remembered that this helps those without ReCycle, dealing with plain .wav/.aiff files :)

    Very good video tip! :)

  • Damn this is so amazing...If I only could afford this kind of software...

  • whao

  • This is fuckin AMAZING!! I'd like to see more tutorials like this one :)

  • really good ideas thnks

  • Nasty Sick! Great work!

  • Impressive. Very creative.

  • Fuuuuuuuck man, sounded pretty nice. I love the creativity

  • Great tutorial video Mattias! I need to explore the timestretching feature in Record more myself. Cheers!

  • Nice vid ... and yes, please come back for more ...

  • The timestretch in Record is purely magic.....On second thought, Everything in Record is purely magic!

  • Super nice video, clear precise and super groovy- thanks

  • Awsome!

  • Excellent tutorial!

  • Great tutorial.

  • only on word : "WOW!"

  • darn i guess i gotta get reord i alwys been frustrated with reason cuz i couldnt change the bpm of loops that i had!!

  • it was awesome!

  • Good info!

  • Reason/Record is the most inspiring DAW there is... You just come up with an idea and build a song around it without even realising you're doing it.

  • too bad you cant do that with wave loops in reason =(

  • What an awesome video! Nice going Mattias!

  • Damn, this was really inspiring :D so music making month, huh? when can we expect the next video :) ?

  • @blabla12331 Check the schedule at the Propellerhead website for all planned events. As for more videos by me, I can't say ;)

  • @cranedeck I did apologize for that, I had some mic issues I couldn't fix before deadline but it'll be better for future videos. ALSO CAPS LOCK MAKES EVERYTHING BETTER.

  • great video! when cutting up the breaks you could also use mute clip, easier to undo that way.

  • @obd Very true! I did think of that but thought it would be less visually clear that way. It's up to the user and I should've said that too :)

  • useful, thanks Mattias

  • Is there any way to do this using only Reason? Thanks

  • @sk6mix No, sorry. You need audio tracks to do this which Reason does not have without Record!

  • Audio legos :D

  • ok i need to get record. did not know you could reverse stuff.

  • omg please list this video one day, the world needs to see this!

  • @MNCHNtoSTHLM Haha that's quite the kind comment, thank you! It'll be on the Music Making Month site all day and most likely be listed later this month or when MMM is over. That's up to Mr. Ryan. :)

  • WHOOAAAA this is inspiring!!!

  • Very nice ;3

  • Sorry about the slightly muffled microphone, I caught that too late! I promise it'll be better next time :)

    /Mattias
