@asdasf42 One more will go up tomorrow! Then I'm afraid you'll have to be patient as nothing else is planned post-Music Making Month. A lot of cool content to check out on the YouTube channel though!
Mattias, thanks for making this! I took the attitude that using loops was pretty lazy, this is a very good technique to use premade loops and make them your own! When I started out with creating music, it was with premade loops with Sony Acid, but when I discovered reason, it blew my mind because you could just make everything from scratch, which is a desirable thing for me! always been my artistic view on loops, is "they're not your own." well, this changes things for me, thanks again!
Wow, great demonstration! I've been using Acid Pro (since version 3), but after seeing this may have to give Record a try. Thanks for the great video...
I tried this out. This is awesome! I have a PC and when I hold the alt key it switches to the pencil tool. When I hold the shift key the little clock appears and when I stretch out the file, it slows down to the bpm's my song is set to. It does not time stretch the clip. What could I be doing wrong? I did just what you did. I even watched the video over again as I was doing it. What could I be doing wrong?
@theoneandonlyhut What makes you think there will never be another tutorial? I never said I was not going to do more.. just that the 52 Tips series was ending... ;-)
Mattias, as you were explaining this awesome technique, I was like "eh, I usually do this with a Dr.OctoRex (including the audio reverse) or a bunch of them and a 6:2 mixer with Solo automation or through CV" ...until you hit the clip Time Stretching part :P
Then I just had to "ooooooh, now that's a cool use of that in there :D" ...and then I also remembered that this helps those without ReCycle, dealing with plain .wav/.aiff files :)
@cranedeck I did apologize for that, I had some mic issues I couldn't fix before deadline but it'll be better for future videos. ALSO CAPS LOCK MAKES EVERYTHING BETTER.
@MNCHNtoSTHLM Haha that's quite the kind comment, thank you! It'll be on the Music Making Month site all day and most likely be listed later this month or when MMM is over. That's up to Mr. Ryan. :)
I have so much to learn : ) Very nice...

intensityxc 9 months ago
@intensityxc Reverse and Normalize were options introduced in Record 1.5 which is a free download when you upgrade to Reason 5. Sorry about that!

Reason/Record is the most inspiring DAW there is... You just come up with an idea and build a song around it without even realising you're doing it.
viomartyr 10 months ago 2
too bad you cant do that with wave loops in reason =(

great video! when cutting up the breaks you could also use mute clip, easier to undo that way.
obd 10 months ago
@obd Very true! I did think of that but thought it would be less visually clear that way. It's up to the user and I should've said that too :)

Is there any way to do this using only Reason? Thanks
sk6mix 10 months ago
@sk6mix No, sorry. You need audio tracks to do this which Reason does not have without Record!
