  • julio cortazar

  • Sorry to ask this guys but I'm just getting into the mars volta. First I liked the persons more than the music, but now i'm also loving the music. But my question, what's the song that's being played right after the introduction?

  • @Joenuh1991 "Wax Simulacra" off of "The Bedlam in Goliath"

  • so what is amputechture seeing as they covered their answer with their own music?

  • BILLDERBURG!

  • @leraginasian I know! I couldn't believe that at the end! TMV is fighting the NWO :)

  • @ButterflyGuilded what do you think about all of these end of the world ideas? do you think any of them could actually be true?

  • @leraginasian Well firstly, the NWO is designed to fail. There have been mini versions of it throughout history and they consistently fail every time. I don't believe the world will ever truly 'end', (energy never dies, it simply changes form) and even if something were catastrophic enough to kill everyone, there is nothing to fear in the world beyond this one, we simply ascend to a higher plain.

  • @ButterflyGuilded okay so you believe in the new wave movement then? i've been researching all about that stuff (ascension, energy changing form, pleidiens, etc.) and although i find it interesting, it's all really still too hard to believe (fully). then again, i sometimes believe it. is there proof of these claims (n.w.m. and nwo)? how did this new movement get started?

  • i love how omar says jodorowsky:)

  • I still can´t believe that something as great as the Mars Volta became a part of my life. It´s like when I listen to it, I got a little peek into the mightiness of god.

Every single album,.. I just can´t believe something as great as this exists.

  • hey if u check out that poster it had a knife thru that eye maybe theyre fighting it off or maybe it means nothing at all

  • At the drive in......broke up because of the Illuminati......sparta did want to do that....but TMV were okay with that.....the reason why i have dis thought id because TMV posters have illuminati symbols like the pyramid with the eye, check Mexican Chocolate Design....(hey, this is just a thought that i have,it might not be true....but thumbs up if know wat i mean)

  • haha. i love his last words.

  • LMAO celia cruz XD

  • @ryanlk if you dont like this then why the fuck do you bother looking it up, just to say something stupid about it? it's not like it's gonna change the way things flow.. you're the one who should grow some brains and actually think what you're saying bro and if nobody cared about them, how do you explain the 33 thousand views? lol you're also the one who has to stop thinking he's special :)

  • @AdriamonesXD Because I love the mars volta! It's just they have kept getting weirder about their spirituality shit. I'm sorry but ghosts aren't real. Dead Muslim women don't talk through talking boards. Just because things went shitty for them the same time they were playing this game doesn't mean the game is evil. It means its a coincidence. I give a fuck because I am a fan and am wondering what the fuck these guys talking about. Its also not part of latin culture to believe in ghosts.

  • @ryanlk justine B is to much of a pussy to mess with an Ouija Board

  • This reminded me that I should be drinking more water. The Mars Volta once again saves my life!

  • It seems the interviewer thought it would look psychedelic and cool to have that background. I bet Omar and Cedric would hate it.

  • Cedric looks like a conquistador.

  • Cedrics' eyes <333

  • one of my more favorite interviews ive seen on youtube :)

  • good interview

  • wow the mars volta no about the bilderberg group.. they just got cooler

  • @ROAHHHH no about bilderberg or know?

  • 2 and a half hours for shows, huh?

we only got an hour and 30 minute show 2 days ago. :( it was an amazing show, yes, but it was really short.

  • At 7:01 what was up with the way he said that "Befoe youu-ah vote?" Omar is just like "What the fuck was that?" Cedric didn't even know what just happened by the looks of it.

Nice interview by the way. Now I know that they never took lessons thats something I've always wondered about them, and now I finally have the gem among of all their interviews that I was looking for.

  • i love how he plugs his own company. genius, hahaha

  • yeah, well you're a retard.

  • nice tripin ass intro lol

  • hahaha so true

  • When C talks about the spirits of the women of the board, repressed by a man's spirit... it reminds me of the stories they used to tell about the women who are being killed and raped in Juarez. (It's still going on, in 2009.)

    They are good guys...

  • thats so down "buy it or steal it "...an thats why i love this band... sigh...

  • why did they SKIP their explanation of amputechture!? fuCK that shit!

  • cause its kinda obvious right....? amputation+ architecture

  • clearly they enjoyed this interview a lot, as did i. :) the interviewer seems so excited & nervous. it's cute.

  • "buy it or steal it or do what you gotta do".....fuck yeah cedric..fuck yeah

  • i know what a badass lol

  • lol he totally goes "the best thing for the dude i mean man" when he's talking about honor killings

  • i love The Mars Volta and i think they are a superb band.

however i am a 17 year old Australian Muslim and i think i should point out that my religion does not condone taking a life in a rape or adultry circumstance. i think he is discussing the culture in the middle east maybe, i wouldnt have a clue.

im not trying to turn this into a religious/political debate lol nor am i dissing Cedric, i think he is a super cool guy and i admire his work..

    peace and LOVE

    Katt.

  • he is actually talking about a midde eastern custom still done in some cases. really a terrible thing.

  • These People to look up to.

  • whoa the singer got blue eyes??

    haha never knew that LOL

  • Don't you ever touch the 'fro

  • Fucking awesome, The Mars Volta are easily my favorite band, Lp5 coming soon! wooooo!!!!!

  • oh look its Brainiac 2.0

  • i want a belt like omars.. anyone knows where i can find it?

  • They sold it for a while on the bands website, but I think they discontinued it...

  • horrible editing..

  • if i had hair like that i wouldn't be cold right now

  • lol

  • HHAHAHAHAHHA

  • I have hair like that AND I'm cold right now.

  • i wonder if they get bored of the same questions like "tell me about bedlam in goliath"

"how long did it take to record" "what was your guys influence in this album?" "do you guys enjoy playing this album"

    hmmmm i only wonder lol

  • i love it at the end when he says

go buy it or steal it or do what you have to do. just shows that they are true artists.

  • Amazing interview!

  • the mars volta is the best band of the 21st century hands down, if i had to go out on a limb i'd say thier the best band alive

  • I could actually listen to Cedric talk about music, vocabulary, talking boards, movies or anything else all day and he wouldn't lose my attention. Its so hard to believe these two have no education or musical tuition.. I wonder where they've learnt about shakespeare and latin nevermind the complex musical concepts they seem to stumble upon.

  • this guy is really happy

  • lol, he was so expecting to hear their inspiration came from meths xD

  • Wonderful interview...great job man....

  • Lol, sounds like all the three of them are stoned :P "huhuhuhuhu"

  • oh they make me soooo happy

  • Yes!!!... I fuckin love Cedric.. I especially love his comment about eh Bilderburg group at the end.. These guys kickass..

  • Luís Buñuel, Alejandro Jodorowsky (Chileno como yo) Julio Cortazar !!!!

    Wooooooooo !!!!!!

    Simplemente genial !!!

    Maestros THE MARS VOLTA

  • I honestly think Deloused would make a great movie animated. Anime would be a great choice, but it's too easy a choice. I think something like the style of Triplets of Bellville would be great.

  • you are the only nigger here bethcarliseh fuck you racist prick

  • KKK Racist PIG!!! The entire Mars Volta is formed by Latino's, Blacks and whites... YOUR HATRED WON'T GET YOU ANYWHERE.. WAKE UP AMERICA IS BLACK AND BROWN!!!!

  • How tired they must be of explaining the story behind bedlamb...

  • yeah no shit hey. if i ever interviewed them i be like 'what do you guys want to talk about?'

  • aaahhh the bilderburg group. music for the awake.

  • Brilliant guys, brilliant band, this band is great, every day I enjoy their music.

  • great interview, they seemed to enjoy your company !

  • Great guys, go out there and do what they want, fucking good shit. Say what they want and make amazing music, what a life.

  • this band´s music is a brilliant mindfuck

    they are intelligent & unique

the best band next to NIN and Blonde Redhead

  • what did he say about build a bird group?

  • Bilderberg group

  • this is cool

    i love the mars volta

id like to know what the mars volta think about coheed & cambria

and what coheed thinks about them lol

if anyone has info or somethin plz tellm e

  • I'd like to know too

I much prefer mars volta, but Claudio is also a puerto rico prog rocker

  • what i can tell you is if they met, theyd probably have a hair fight lol.

  • this was a great interview thanks for posting!

  • What a great fuckin' story.

  • they're the craziest looking guys i've ever seen.

  • best live show everrrrrrr!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • their regiment for getting ready for show sounds very chili pepper esque

  • dont be an asshole plz!!

  • why was this spamed wher i come from that is a good thing that may be just a compliment so think first shoot second

  • Man if you've never seen interviews with these guys, you'd never think they're as cool and down to earth as they are because omar never really envolves the crowd into the show. It's pretty much they play the show and then leave and no oncore. But very smart and cool dudes.

  • Good vid indeed; it explained quite a few things that I wasn't aware of.

Plus Cedric looks like a King Charles spaniel, which was sweet. :) Going to see them in Camden in July. *anticipates*

  • dude... the mars volta knows 'bout bilderburg. sweet ass... cedric rocks.

  • what about the Bilderberg group is that a good thing or a bad thing and hugh did I hear right "belonging to the emo society" wahh I don't get someone explain...

  • he said the evil society. its a group of very powerful people that meet in private every so often.. look up the new world order. we're in for a hell of a ride.

  • i like to do a bunch of drugs and make music. this interview scared me, they are obviously intelligent guys, or used to be. omar has the music, and cedric has the lyrics to prove it. but it kind of seems like they are either tripping on some sort of hallucinogen, or are just super fried. this video is scary

  • Ever since Jeremy died, they have quit doing hard drugs, I think still do 'shrooms and pot though.

  • yeah maybe shrooms and pot but i think thats cuz you cant od on those

  • excuse me good sir, but the wrong shroom can kill you.

I think they're fine off with pot though, but it ruined how they write songs, since it's such a conventional songwriting drug.

  • no it didnt the drugs helped them be more outside of the box and expressive

  • that's true but they sound nothing like they used to.

Look at Frances and Amp, seeing as Jeremy helped make the magic that was De-Loused.

Now look at the Bedlam in Goliath.

    Muuuch different.

  • De-Loused was awesome but come on, Frances ruled.

*Don't mean to attack but it sounds like you hated their direction.

  • hell no, they're one of my absolute favourite bands.

De-loused, Frances and Amp were the best albums, after De-loused, stuff began to sound different, but keeping their groovy vibe.

Goliath is a whole new direction is what I meant, it's not bad, but it's not their best.

  • At first, I was like, "Ok, this is different yet cool. But it sounds a bit like some Nu Metal stuff" and now that I think about it, I was totally wrong. I remember Omar saying he loved Black Flag and Bedlam to me seems like their Punk revival meets arabian-esque music.

Overall, I think it's a great album, some parts overdone but hey, music gets better with time so I'll probably learn to appreciate the Amens at the end of Soothsayer lol.

  • he must have been tripping balls if he heard that guitar talking, lol

  • People like the interviewer is people I don't understand and I'm scared of.

  • im serious man, like man, wow, like man, really man, wow, like, i was like, like, i was like man, oh man wow, man...somebodoy tell that dude to shut up.

  • listen at the 7 04 mark, Cedric starts talking black by accident and then immediately feels ashamed.. Omar gets mad at him.

  • WTF! I don't follow ugh...

  • wtf r u talking about

  • haha its true

  • LOL atomicus was funny shit

  • my bro bought the cd.. strait dopness.. ^^

  • yeah... i think he meant julio cortazar... writer... great writer.

  • Did he say find out if your politician is part of the build a bear group?

  • the Bilderberg group

  • sorry.lol

  • Anyone can hear that julio cortez is one of their influences? who is this guy ?

  • great interview

  • does anyone know how to spell the names of their influences so i can look them up please?

  • black flag and alejandro jodorowski, the fi9lmmaker of holy mountain, you have to see that!

  • also Luis Buñuel directed Los Olvidados(The Forgotten Ones) & Celia Cruz Cuban-American salsa singer

  • ooo i checked up on that Bilderberg group to see if any of the democratic candidates were on it.. 2nd name on the list Hillary Clinton.

  • Great interview. Very insightful.

  • rockin'

  • rockin'

  • Great interview. These guys are such professionals.

    That was hilarious lol.

I bought it :D! Awesome cd from an great band!

    HEAR HEAR!

  • Go Omar and Cedric!

  • CeDRiK! =)

  • atomi kiss haha

  • "Buy it or steal it or do what you gotta do." Well, you can tell he isn't in it for the money, as if we didn't know that from the music. TMV fan by the way, not trashing the band in any way, shape or form.

  • Finally a fucking good interview, really shows them having fun in this one.

  • The ending was great

  • Omar is adorable!

  • I got scared for a second when I didn't recognize the word "atomicus."

  • I thought, "Huh?"

  • great interview!

  • Cute interview!! I love it :]

  • hehe. that's soo cute. OMAR <3

  • wow

  • Haha that was a great interview

I havent seen many interviews where they laugh and joke around so much

  • i think they really cater to their latin community and since Si tv is bilingual...it brings them to their roots. hehe i love this

  • hey fiore!

  • fantastic interview. lots of love for these guys.

  • Great Interview.

  • love the atomicus plug there

  • YES!

    DOWN WITH HILLARY. THE FASCIST
