@JFreedom28 The rap doesn't knock Ron Paul at all, the line speaks to the reality that most people will call on local activists and the "team of super zeros" to make the changes that we want to see in our own communities....its speaking to a non-messianic approach to recognizing community leadership...no one person is the solution...i think thats the point...

About damn time! SOOOO glad that the end of capitalism is coming, love the lyricism. phdavis makes a really good point you do have to steal it!!!! Immortal Technique is another damn good rapper for those who don't know true rap! I am a libertarian socialist and we need the end of this era of greed! DOWN WITH WALL-STREET THE FED AND THE PRIVATIZATION OF EVERYTHING. Necessities have become commodities its time we bring back the commons!
"I'm free, not defined by what I have but what I give to humanity. Occupy government, ain't no either or, we are the ones we've been waiting for." LOVE IT. And nice touch with the Ron Paul diss... what are these people who want lower taxes for the super rich doing at 99% protests?
The sounds of the true meaning and power of what hip hop has always been and what its rightful place is in the movements of struggle for the economic, social, environmental, and political justice. Joy to the ears!!! We are the change that we have been waiting for.
@jahibbyutube "What If Ron Paul was President?" THEN the super rich would have way LOWER taxes, cutting the social safety net for the other 99% while plunging us closer to feudalism and environmental catastrophe. Is it a death metal song?
@lclarsen The social nets get phased out, as our monetary system goes on solid footing. You have to understand REAL TERMS and get out of the NOMINAL mindset -thats how the FED and govt steals all our money.
@quietlike POOR oppressed 1%!!! You get to work and DEFEND them, it's obvious they are far to honorable to fight for their own interests? <Continue to cover ears and eyes and say "Fed, Fed, Fed, Fed, Fed..." because obviously there was no poverty or social injustice or crises before the Federal Reserve.)
@lclarsen So youre saying its ok to oppress certain people, even if they arent doing anything wrong? I argue that the 1% you speak of are largely to problem, but taxing them is only going to take a little away from them, and they will still continue to monopolize everyone... ie. not a solution. By doing so, you set precedent, for say the next % when its not enough.
@quietlike Take it from a guy who knew about this 1% income disparity before OWS started. And really its like .01%
ALso realize that most multinationals dont have to pay taxes because the money is made offshore, but if they bring it in they have to pay, so they keep it outside the US.
Your right this stuff isnt only because of the FED, but the FED is a large part of our current mess, and has caused many of our prblems over the last 100 years.
@lclarsen I say Federal Reserve because they largely are the cause. Its a private bank, you dont like JP Morgan, GOldman Sachs, why would you defend the largest and biggest monopoly that effects everyone? Do you know how the federal reserve works?
YOU are the one covering your ears and eyes by NOT looking at the FED. Where does the deficit spending come from? Where do our taxes really go? Blaming the 1% is the right start, but isnt the man behind the curtain. dig deeper.
@quietlike Neither me nor any other rational person considers asking a super wealthy elite to pay a higher share of tax on the wealth SOCIETY has allowed them to collect is OPPRESSION. I'd like to see you go to refugee camps, political prisons and starvation slums around the world and try to explain to those people exactly how returning to something like Eisenhower's top marginal tax rate would constitute "oppression".
@lclarsen Ok, not oppression, but free will to use their own property.Youre saying its ok to use govt force (IRS) to make people do something they dont want (Taxes), because the majority of people say so. So if all the minorities banded together to form a majority against whites, its ok for them to have govt force make them do something they dont want.
This is the same thing. What you call common good, someone else may not -even if it is. Forcing ideas on others is the wrong route to go.
@lclarsen We need to embrace freedom of choice, and use voluntary cooperation along with persuasion to share ideas. It is then up to each individual to make up their own mind.
In your thinking, if I disagree, its ok to use govt force against me because I think differently.
In my thinking, its ok for us to disagree, and we volunarily persuade each other through discussion. If we still disagree, you can do things your way, I can do it my way, as long as we dont harm each others' property
@quietlike I appreciate your level headed response, however you have an incomplete view of "force" in the economy. what if a rich man has a big field that he's not using and I decide to plant a garden or build a shack there. he asks me to leave and I won't... here comes the force. in your view upping the tax on billionaires (as was the case a few decades ago) is a greater injustice. half the world lives on less than $2 a day... the vast majority sides with me. are you anti-democracy?
@lclarsen Well, my counter is that that rich person owns that land (assuming legally) and can do what he wishes with it, even if that means not selling it to you. But think about this, say you own a home, what stops you from starting your own garden, building a greenhouse and selling your produce to neighbors? Regulations, permits, and licensing. You need to be certified to sell produce, even if your customers want to buy it. That is force, and stops competition for the rich who can affordit
By NOT selling the land to you, he is in an unprofitable position. The problem is that banks create money (via fractional lending), loan it to corporations or govts to buy politicians and put in place regulations (or get subsidies) that keep you from participating in the market and competing against him.
Think of edu or med. There are tons of govt progs, which causes price to rise because those industries know that govt will pay them, allowing them to charge whatever they want.
To all you dunces who just joined Occupy Wall Street: Learn the facts before you jump in. This is not a left/right movement. This is not about taxing the rich and giving to the poor or promoting Democrat politicians.
This has always been about ending crony corporatism and Wall Street influence in politics. Most of the original occupiers hate Obama for how he sold us out to Wall Street. Wake up and stop this partisan BS.
@xXlWarriorOfGodlXx I see the Ron Paul hate as well. It's seems a lot of people here are Obama fans. People need to understand that Obama is Wall Street (check his Contributions, 1 million from Goldman Sacs, 800k from JP Morgan). Most people who hate on Ron Paul do so, because they just assume the worst. It's sad, that there's already dissension occurring within Occupy. I've been called a troll asking why Obama is supported. I wanted to join up, but I'm already being pushed away by the RP hate.
@xXlWarriorOfGodlXx Ron Paul is a libertarian: Huge tax cuts for the SUPER RICH, 99% is on their own. I'm glad he wants to end the wars, that's about it.
@lclarsen Just because you are rich doesnt mean you a ripping everyone off! By "taking from the rich and giving to the poor" you are just oppressing rich people instead of poor... We should be against oppressing anyone and prosecuting everyone who does commit fraud or steal from others.
Ron Paul is for jailing the bankers, corporations, politicians, and corrupt govt depts that oppresses everyone.
If they had even HALF of a CLUE, they would NOT be dissin' Ron Paul!!! He's the only hope we have! Not these "occupy" people who support Obama pissing on streets and not bathing for weeks on end.
you truly believe "voting" has any affect? talk about getting your head out of your ass, try reading the book "armed madhouse" by Greg Palast and then tell me if you think your vote counts for shit?
no, your vote doesn't count because elections are bought and paid for long before we vote. the electoral college is a joke. small goverment, big government...just like with your penis, the size doesn't matter per se...it's the quality and how it is utilized. & we need fucking honesty for a change & a prez with some balls. there hasn't been a president worth a shit since Kennedy. which is why i am part of the newest political party. google it, the National Atheist Party
@kbodness Ron Paul is a politician. All politicians lie to get elected and fix nothing. Therefore Ron Paulis lying to get elected and will fix nothing. It's simple logic, and Ron Pual will fix just as much as Obama fixed; NOTHING. now pull YOUR head out of YOUR ass and get out on the streets.
@trunkatedpig Thank you for injecting some logic into this comment board! I'm sick to death of Paultards canvassing for their idol everywhere on YouTube.
@kbodness Let me clear one thing up; I don't hate Ron Pual. I'd rather him than any other realistic candidate (at least any Republican, still not sure what Obama's angle is.) I also don't vote. Why? Because I'm 14. If I could, I would, because it's better to have a little say than to have no say at all.But electing one guy president isn't going to fix this. Weather or not Ron Paul sells out and/or gets caught up playing politics, (if he
@kbodness even gets elected) It's improbable he'll change much, because partisanship kills everything that would do any good to this country. People speaking out was the only thing that put an end to sweatshops in America, it's the only thing that got us out of Vietnam, and it, if anything, is what will put an end to corporate money littering Washington, and the people's money littering CEO's bank accounts.
@kbodness Vast majority lives in states & districts were the outcome of votes/electoral points is guaranteed for one party or another. Those "lucky" enough to live in swing areas are bombarded with the real money (the ones politicians signed everything away to get)... the full brunt of PR research into the dumbest, basest instincts of mankind, eschewing all talk of policy (which we know politicians won't be accountable to anyway) for feelings and branding. PROGRESS COMES FROM SOCIAL MOVEMENTS.
I have grown completely tired of people saying that the lazy are trying to steal from the hard-workers, because that's not what we're talking about. Yes, I'm talking to you, "iknowcarsbetterthanu." The Koch Brothers inherited their money, as did Paris Hilton. These are some of the faces of the 1%. We're not talking about people who make $1,000,000 a year. We're talking about people who make $10,000,000 a year. You can't EARN $10,000,000 a year. You have to STEAL IT.
@Mtierney21 Nope. Nor any of the other ideologies you learned about in high school social studies class.. LOL.. I love people who think they can start a political debate from a point like that.. go away.. troll someplace else.
@Mtierney21 You get a lot of mouthy right wingers around here.. it get's tiring. I'm not directly a part of the occupy movement.. but as a supporter, I do find it a little hard to believe that people have no idea what the movement is about.. It's pretty obvious that the world is running itself into the ground and the means by which money is made and exchanged isn't working in most people's favor. Maybe you just need to inform yourself a bit more about the world..
@yourmanwatson Well people aren't really making any huge arguments. They're just screaming END CAPITALISM!! The only arguments made are vague claims like "the world is running itself into the ground". BUT HOW? Sure people are losing their jobs, and sure the economy is bad, but that doesn't mean we need to rethink the entire system. The government IS corrupt, but that will change with an election. What is Occupy actually trying to change? Instead of calling me an idiot, answer one of my questions
@Mtierney21 Yeah.. the problem here is a lack of information. You're not going to understand what people are saying if you don't understand the context.. Hmm.. where to start? Well.. try watching "The Story of Stuff" followed by "The Story of Broke".. Then watch "The Corporation".. All those are definitely slanted to give a particular message and there's lots of critiques of them.. But it's as good a place to start as any.
I'll give you a couple specific things I'd like to change.. 1 sec
@Mtierney21 Ok.. This'll take a few minutes to explain. bear with me. So.. the government bails out banks and corporations and later finds out that these companies have spent some of that money in maintaining their payroll and bonuses for top executives. Maybe not such a bad thing as some people might think, right? When asked why they did this, some banks (for example) said it was necessary to offer competitive rewards to attract the best talent. WEEELLL.. let me explain something to you..
@Mtierney21 The concept behind the need to offer top performing executives competitive salaries and bonuses is a REALLY fundamental concept that is ALL through every Economics class' required reading - it's called "the profit motive".. It's the idea that if I offer you more money to do something, you'll do a better job at it. The problem is - this has been proven scientifically FALSE. It just isn't true. So try and imagine how many institutions and policies are based on that one false paradigm.

Take money from the rich and invest in the poor? Yeah right. I'm not giving the money i worked my ass off for years to get to a bunch a losers who couldn't get their heads on straight in high school.
This joint is popping. Real talk, truth and inspiration. This movement is getting too big and gaining too much momentum for it not to garner the attention it deserves, and hopefully set in motion the wheels to make the changes we all want to see. End the Fed. Much respect. and big ups to all those!

Not all rich people are crooks!!!! How about instead of taking from the rich and giving to the poor, you prosecute those who commit fraud and stel
By being Robin Hood, you are just using govt to attack a different group (the rich). We should be going after those who actually caused our problems.
Instead of using govt to attack people, clean it up, and use it punish those who hurt others, and protect those that dont.
Robin Hood ideas create class warfare, and dont address the real problems.

Bunch of misguided idiots, they think they're are at the head of a revolution.
The only way we can flip the pyramid is if we vote vote vote.
We still have power but nobody fucking votes except for old fucks.
10% of eligible voters on average vote during presidential elections.
If you want to fix things fix them from the inside out, vote for ron paul.
This video is a bunch of crap.
End the fed, and get your heads out of your asses
kbodness 4 months ago
@kbodness
you truly believe "voting" has any affect? talk about getting your head out of your ass, try reading the book "armed madhouse" by Greg Palast and then tell me if you think your vote counts for shit?
flashoftruth 4 months ago
@flashoftruth
If my vote doesn't count it's only because of the size of the federal government.
If we have a small government we can have more of a voice on the state level.
If you don't like the laws of the state you can canvas and try and get people behind your cause and vote
You guys all say that we have power but give no alternatives...
what are you going to suggest we do?
kill all politicians?
blow up the white house?
kbodness 4 months ago
@kbodness
no, your vote doesn't count because elections are bought and paid for long before we vote. the electoral college is a joke. small goverment, big government...just like with your penis, the size doesn't matter per se...it's the quality and how it is utilized. & we need fucking honesty for a change & a prez with some balls. there hasn't been a president worth a shit since Kennedy. which is why i am part of the newest political party. google it, the National Atheist Party

@kbodness
btw...i like ron paul, but he will never get elected and he is a fundie, which is a huge strike against him.
flashoftruth 4 months ago
@kbodness Ron Paul is a politician. All politicians lie to get elected and fix nothing. Therefore Ron Paulis lying to get elected and will fix nothing. It's simple logic, and Ron Pual will fix just as much as Obama fixed; NOTHING. now pull YOUR head out of YOUR ass and get out on the streets.
trunkatedpig 4 months ago
@trunkatedpig Thank you for injecting some logic into this comment board! I'm sick to death of Paultards canvassing for their idol everywhere on YouTube.
neosoc 4 months ago
@trunkatedpig that is terrible logic. Ron Paul has been ideologically consistent for the past 30 years.
What do you suggest? A complete overthrow of our government?
I've been out on the streets, i'm spreading the word about the fed and FIAT money.
Our system isn't broken it is just diseased, we need people with new ideas and compassion in our elected offices.
Going out on the streets and complaining about all of the bullshit will do nothing except marginalize the
movement and destroy it
kbodness 4 months ago 2
@kbodness Let me clear one thing up; I don't hate Ron Pual. I'd rather him than any other realistic candidate (at least any Republican, still not sure what Obama's angle is.) I also don't vote. Why? Because I'm 14. If I could, I would, because it's better to have a little say than to have no say at all.But electing one guy president isn't going to fix this. Weather or not Ron Paul sells out and/or gets caught up playing politics, (if he
trunkatedpig 4 months ago
@kbodness even gets elected) It's improbable he'll change much, because partisanship kills everything that would do any good to this country. People speaking out was the only thing that put an end to sweatshops in America, it's the only thing that got us out of Vietnam, and it, if anything, is what will put an end to corporate money littering Washington, and the people's money littering CEO's bank accounts.
trunkatedpig 4 months ago

Fu%# "End The Fed" - END CAPITALISM. The problem is a lot bigger than just banks people.

@yourmanwatson Agreed
phdavis17 4 months ago
@yourmanwatson what do you propose we replace it with? Socialism? Anarchy?
Mtierney21 3 months ago
@Mtierney21 Nope. Nor any of the other ideologies you learned about in high school social studies class.. LOL.. I love people who think they can start a political debate from a point like that.. go away.. troll someplace else.
yourmanwatson 3 months ago
@yourmanwatson I wasn't trying to troll, just find out what Occupy's goals are. No need to get all defensive.
Mtierney21 3 months ago
@Mtierney21 You get a lot of mouthy right wingers around here.. it get's tiring. I'm not directly a part of the occupy movement.. but as a supporter, I do find it a little hard to believe that people have no idea what the movement is about.. It's pretty obvious that the world is running itself into the ground and the means by which money is made and exchanged isn't working in most people's favor. Maybe you just need to inform yourself a bit more about the world..
yourmanwatson 3 months ago
@yourmanwatson Well people aren't really making any huge arguments. They're just screaming END CAPITALISM!! The only arguments made are vague claims like "the world is running itself into the ground". BUT HOW? Sure people are losing their jobs, and sure the economy is bad, but that doesn't mean we need to rethink the entire system. The government IS corrupt, but that will change with an election. What is Occupy actually trying to change? Instead of calling me an idiot, answer one of my questions
Mtierney21 3 months ago
@Mtierney21 Yeah.. the problem here is a lack of information. You're not going to understand what people are saying if you don't understand the context.. Hmm.. where to start? Well.. try watching "The Story of Stuff" followed by "The Story of Broke".. Then watch "The Corporation".. All those are definitely slanted to give a particular message and there's lots of critiques of them.. But it's as good a place to start as any.
I'll give you a couple specific things I'd like to change.. 1 sec
yourmanwatson 3 months ago
@Mtierney21 Ok.. This'll take a few minutes to explain. bear with me. So.. the government bails out banks and corporations and later finds out that these companies have spent some of that money in maintaining their payroll and bonuses for top executives. Maybe not such a bad thing as some people might think, right? When asked why they did this, some banks (for example) said it was necessary to offer competitive rewards to attract the best talent. WEEELLL.. let me explain something to you..
yourmanwatson 3 months ago
@Mtierney21 The concept behind the need to offer top performing executives competitive salaries and bonuses is a REALLY fundamental concept that is ALL through every Economics class' required reading - it's called "the profit motive".. It's the idea that if I offer you more money to do something, you'll do a better job at it. The problem is - this has been proven scientifically FALSE. It just isn't true. So try and imagine how many institutions and policies are based on that one false paradigm.
