  • can oyu use this left handed?

  • How much is it

  • I'm an old guy (66). When I retire I won't be able to play golf but I love video games. I just never played one on my PC. I got B-17 Mighty Eighth to start with but I can't get the Cyborg X FLY 5 to work with it. Do I need to download a special profile or something?

  • Anyone know if this joystick will work on a PS3?

  • MAC SUCKS

  • I use the same joystick. I have little experience with other joysticks, but this works fine for me.

  • Anybody who cant stand joystick control? yip thats right dare I say it?Im a mouse flyer. Gasp!

  • This game also on flight simulator x ??

  • If you set the joystick comes a game or you need a game than there are for example buy flight simulator x answered my question

  • fsx on a mac. holly shit. i thought you needed top of the line gaming computer for fsx

  • very very old indeed

  • what is the game and does the joystick have a trim?

  • what kind of mac do you have???

  • Just get some velcro strips that will stick to your table (or whatever surface you place the stick on) and stick some other velcro strips under the bottom of the stick itself, then you will never have to worry about it moving anywhere. You can buy the velcro stickies at Wal-mart or almost any other place that sells handy little things for super cheap. :)

  • Ewwwww a mac...

  • that joystick have a hat? to move the camera? thanks

  • When you get it does it automatically make the thruster piece left and right engine or do you need to set it yourself

  • i have this exact controller but when ever i go to fly it always makes the plane go up and i cant adjust the trim its at full and could u assist me

  • is it possibul to make it comfy for lefthanders?

  • Heh, mine broke after six months..

  • i made a mistake and bought the aviator which is awfull for FSX, the throttle is good but the stick itself is uncomfortable + you must hold your second hand on it so that the base of the joystick wont flip.

  • Thanks for the video.

You mentioned everything I needed to know.

  • What do you say right now after 6 months of been use it? Still works as a new?

  • Does it have a top hat mini-stick? Does it have buttons on top of the handle?

  • thank you!!!! all the other videos are either getting rick rolled or in another language

  • how do you install it?

    good video

  • Nice Video. I bought one for MS Flight Sim 2004. Need some help configuring the independent throttles for a twin engine plane. Any tips? Thanks.

  • Control The Plane With Throttles

  • good vid, make moreee

  • This is an excellent video thank you :)

A question I have is, in your own research, what was the approximate lifespan of this joystick? I have quite a few points I love about this, except the lifespan might be a bit on the downside from what I read. So I'd love to hear it from you.

    Thanks.

  • Hi, I've had mine for a while now, it's a sweet joystick, however mine bluescreens my computer when I use it for a certain period of time with certain profiles. I made a couple of my own profiles and it seems like it's only when I use it with a game. It didn't crash at all when I tested it as a mouse. I don't know why and there's a thread for it on saitek but the last post was Jan 2010 and there was no resolution to it. Have you had any problems? Any ideas as to why it crashes?

  • DOES IT HAVE A HAT SWITCH SO YOU CAN MOVE AROUND THE VIEW WHEN IN THE COCKPIT? Thanks

  • Comment removed

  • Thank u dude.. i was so interested in "twisting rudder" mode.. bought it yesterday :P in 2 days it'll be mine for bf3 hehe :D

  • It doesn't look comfortable. Does it feel good in you're hands?

  • If you move the joystick a little bit to any direction is it smooth? I have had issues where i move the joystick a little in any direction and it jams or gets stuck a little which is irritating when in a dog fight.

  • how did you install it????

  • @TPawner I used it on my mac, thankfully no installation required. However, if you use it on windows there is a cd that comes with it and instructions on installation. Hope that helps

  • @TheAviatorMan But I am assuming plug n play will work in any case, if not the cd is there

  • @TheAviatorMan HEY buddy does the throttles work in a 4 engine aircraft too like 747 etc

    thanks

  • since it needs a usb port do u no if it would work with my xbox 360

  • @assasinsINC No it wont, I've tried it with mine! lol Plus the compatibility on the box states only with PC unfortunately.....

  • @assasinsINC There are two sticks the same for XBOX 360 and Playstation 3. Im guessing Saitek wanted to try and make more money out of us im afraid.

  • @assasinsINC theres a cyborg (looks exact same) for xbox 360 if youll find it somewhere

  • @assasinsINC Cyborg actually makes a 360 version of the fly 5. Its newer so prepared to pay for it.

  • HOLY SHIT

I have the exact same joystick and it's not working anymore either !

    And that's why I came here !

  • is that joystic has vibration like other joystic or playstation2 pad? and does that joystic need power cable or is only usb cable? please answer me. nice review

  • @MrKadaboy1 It does not vibrate. USB needed only. Hope that helps.

  • Z axis twist? real men use rudder pedals (I personally nab the pedals from a steering wheel setup and use it with a joystick). either way, glad to see madkatz finally pulled their heads out of their ass and made some good hardware with this cyborg series.

  • @Battlemaster00 lol i know what you mean, but it's a cheaper (perhaps less complex) alternative to rudder pedals. Thanks for the comment though.

  • which game is it?

  • @apacz13 X-Plane 9

  • @TheAviatorMan should i buy this one or the Saitek AV8R 2.0? They both are 50 euros and the only thing is that i think this one looks ugly and the av8r looks good :P but i don't know which one is better for FSX (props and jets)

  • @vogelbekdier97 I havn't got or tried the AV8R so cannot comment. Although the ugliness is beauty in my eyes lol

  • HELP😓😂 😭

  • I AM LOST HELP NO VIDEO SHOWES MAC JOYSTICK WITCH IS THE BEST OR WATH IS COMPATIBLE 😓😂 😭

  • @TVPOLY I know what you mean, I had to try it after buying it (not even knowing if it would work or not)

  • hey there, does the stick rotate itself? i mean to steer (shank, sorry for my english) right or left?

  • @Matser85 you mean rudder neck twist feature, yes it does

  • @routhoula eah uhm, in the meantime i've bought this stick and concluded that it sucks monkey balls

  • @Matser85 you did? well i've heard about its structural flaws, though before i heard them i desired this stick due to pretty cool features. now i finally gathered enough money to buy an X52 pro(which i heard a fair amount of good words about it)

  • Please try it on battlefield (harierrs and choppers) :)

  • Hi. Thinking of buying this from argos for £35, but i was wondering if you thing that is good value for money? Also, does it have a POV hat switch? Thanks...

  • can you use it in the left hand?

  • when your playing it looks like theres a massive delay from when you move the stick and when the plane moves :s i think thats put me off

  • @erelaxx The weight of the aircraft being simulated I guess, but fair enough..

  • @TheAviatorMan Yes, I wondered about that too. Have you ever tried this with a WWII flight sim like Wings of Prey? I would love to see how it works for that game or something like it. Thanks.

  • @erelaxx It shouldn't in reality it does take an amount of time between the controls and the maneuverability of the plane and due to the size and shape of this plane the reaction of the aircraft will be longer.

  • @erelaxx ....It simulates the weight of the plane. I't's not a fighter jet, derp!!!

  • @erelaxx NOT a bug or feature:) The joystick is just fine, consider the plane is big and heavy. With a fighter plane everything is fast and responsive (Janes F-16, IL-2 Sturmovik so far).

Very best joystick for this price imo.

    Cheers

  • What flight sim r u using

  • thank you so much

  • ill buy it :) seems good to me

  • should i buy it?

  • @TheBestCraftersAlive A very good question! So far, for my use with flight simulator I havn't looked back, it looks great feels good and hasnt broken (yet lol)... There have been complaints about durability which I have to take into consideration. I havnt' had this joystick for long enough to know its durability, but it seems that there are people who say it breaks after some time. It's a very difficult choise to make my friend.

  • @TheAviatorMan choice*

  • Well, I take it back. I just posted a comment about how I like this joystick -- I've had it around a year, but I just plugged it in to use, and it's broken. It's not even calibration the entire control is completely fucked. It's been stored much of this time, just sitting atop my computer tower. I don't think this joystick has very good durability at all.

  • @dmanbiker Damn I hope mine doesnt break :S but since youve had it for a year I trust your judgement and I guess if it breaks I shoudnt be surprised..

  • @TheAviatorMan Apparently I have terrible memory. I've had it 2 years, but I'm a pretty light simulator player. I play mostly FPSs and when I get a craving for IL-2 or Mechwarrior or Descent, I pull out the joystick.

It's not that bad, but I've heard that it doesn't have the best durability, and I can see why. The Z-axis on mine went long before the rest, but that also might have been because I'm pretty rough when playing. If you play a lot of non-combat flight sims you'll probably be fine.

  • @TheAviatorMan does the joystick still work? any pros or cons?

  • Hi there, nice review btw, excuse me i'm thinking of buying this joystick but i have a doubt, the joystick specs says that it is both for left and right handed people, SO, i'm left handed and i hold the stick with my left hand, but the throttle is in the left side of the stick, so what the hell ? can i remove the throttle fom that side and place it on the right side ?? because if not, then it's only a right handed stick. so thats my question, sorry if it's a long Q i relly want this stick ^^

  • @eXeelion I understand what you mean... that does sound like a problem...In short you cannot move the throttle from the left side to the right side unfortunately!! I duno why they would say its for right and left handed people, the joystick on its own maybe but not the throttle (unless you can deal with the inconvenience hmmmm)

  • @TheAviatorMan damn, i never had a joystick and this one looks beautiful, i'm pretty sure i can master it with my right hand, i use the mouse with my r hand, or maybe go with the cyborg v1, at least it's cheaper, will see, anyways ty for your quick response

  • @eXeelion I think you will be fine with your right hand. Just imagine you were an airbus pilot seated on the right hand side, you would have to get used to using the joystick with your right hand and professional pilots learn to do use their opposite hand so you will be fine!

  • @TheAviatorMan yea i think i'm just gonna go with it and get it, one final question, did any of the buttons ever fall off ? because i heard many times that the buttons in the top of the stick come off really fast, and that it moves too much when you press those buttons

  • @eXeelion I have also heard about the buttons falling before I bought it but so far it hasnt. Just dont smash it about whilst playing games lol and hopefully you will be alright!!

  • @eXeelion I have owned 2 of these sticks and although a decent one the 4 main fire buttons are prone to breaking@the piviot point.there is only roughly 1/6" plastic at the privot point in time it will break there. Some are broken in the box new :{."very poor design. My number 2 button has broken on both of the sticks I owned. My older cyborg last me 4 years both new sticks lasted 4-8 months. Now to find a decent stick that will not break-even if I had to pay twice the amount of money. Cheers

  • @MyBullDogMack I just got mine today. Guess what, buttons 1,2,4 or broken. Or actually they work, but only if I press the whole joystick down, hard, twards the base. Anybody have any solution?

  • where did u buy this and this should work on fsx right

  • @kevinkola11 I bought this from currys/pc world and it does work with fsx

  • is this work on Battlefield Bad Company 2 ?

  • @VikT00R1 yes it works for BF Bad Company 2

  • @VikT00R1 I doubt it....

  • Has anyone tried this with an xbox 360 and does it work

  • @26LucasB It doesnt say its 360 compatible but I have heard that Saitek produce 360 and ps3 compatible joysticks

  • will this joystick work with flight simulator x

  • @ghostie246 yeah!!

  • @ghostie246 Yes

  • Nice, i'm getting one of these soon i think :)

  • @colanarkomanen I do not recommend Cyborg X.

See the thumb buttons ? near the blue light? 4 of them and a POVbutton. The 4 buttons are attached by a small and THIN plastic. Simple knock or overuse will make the buttons fall off. Mine broke less than 6 months, while I carefully maintain the joystick.

Sure the dual throttle, retractable stand, and detachable handle might look great, but if the button fall off ? :(

  • Which is better, this or the logitech extreme 3d pro

  • @sharukh3105

I just ordered the 3D pro so I may be biased, but based of what I have seen with buttons breaking, i'd go with the pro.

  • A great stick, only problem is that with the way the buttons are designed on the joystick, they are easily breakable, airport security broke it when they took it out of my bag :(

  • @derekwang32 It's X-Plane 9

  • Is this the same Joystick as the 'Cyborg F.L.Y 5 Gaming Joystick'?

    Thanks

  • @IRI5HJ4CK yes it is

  • Thanks man - Just puts my mind at ease that it's likely the game and not the pc > mac compatibility issue : )

  • Does your POV work? I'm using it on macbook with X3 and it's fine except for the POV. Can't even get it to register the input when trying to assign POV directions to commands and when you use it in game the ship just rolls around like a pig in filth.

  • @LinebackerDirge Yeah my POV works fine for me... But I rarely use that from the joystick I've kinda just got used to always using the keyboard for views (I've been doing that since back in the day with MFS). But yeah in a nutshell I have assigned them on the joystick during a calibration test to see if it all works and they do.

  • @TheAviatorMan Actually bought X3. Works perfectly now. 2 lessons; 1) Buy the game or don't complain, and more importantly, 2) I can confirm that the Cyborg Fly 5 has complete PAP functionality for Mac.
