@iTzH0KaN It's very easy to attack against only containing players, you just pass the ball downwards alot and create attacks with 1-2 throughballs. Not saying it isn't annoying, just saying that there are ways to turn that to a good thing.

@foorumi I actually do that alot, but when the person playing against me is using a 5 defenders formation.. I can do nothing at all about it then.. It's nearly impossible to score then. Even with normal formations sometimes i just can't play, because he just holds the damn X bottom and switches players. Damn dude :/

My record is 79 31 36, all those ties and loses came from me thinking that using the tackling button actually worked. Tactical defending is not hard but I rather play with legacy because tactical defending slows the game too much while legacy creates an unrealistic but fun, fast pace football game.

@Jack3500able Actually im a top any on pro clubs and i never use the tackle button unless i'm doing a slide tackle. If you contain properly then your controlled player will tackle on his own without you pressing the buttom.

WOW, these noob people complaining about the takling button are starting to get very annoying. Guys shut the fuck up and just go learn to play. The takling button is awesome. Once you master that technique, you will say it's awesome too. It is very effective once you know hoe to control your player, follow and anticipate the opponent's movements. The people that say they hate the defending in the game because it sucks only say that because they have no skill and because they suck. The defending is more realistic, making the game overall more realistic by giving you a challenge, unlike the previous FIFA's where you would hold X or A and the player would pressure.

I agree the standing tackle is so complicating for your footballer. I cant stress that enough. It leaves the defender standing behind while the attacker is long gone. and I like how you put controls so people dont ask how to do certain things.

maybe you should be more patience in fifa 12, but how can you be patient if theres only 12min to play and you need to win to promote? if they want people to be patient just like real football, they should also make the games longer, like 10min one half. but being patient with only 12 min of play often results in a draw. and if ur not patient both sides will conceed alot of goals.

i observed peoples playing styles, alot of people like to do pass move (X + R1) and then they just wait for their player to outrun your defence and give the high troughball (triangle + L1) next, which makes it possible to setup an attack with only 2 players! to stop this you should prevent the high troughball from happening, but with tactical defence they have all the time to wait as you cant press the opposision, only mark or "contain" them. result is that bad players become unstopable.

Tutorial is good, i play quite the same way, the r1 button is the defenders best friend! patience is no solution for most of the players :D but structuring the field into areas is wrong IMO because:

1. youre getting pushed back

2. if an opponent do cross passes and high balls youre defending line will be confused

3. if youre pushed back, u cant strike back ( 01:30 ) cause the opponents are in your half.

4. you have to hope the opponent doenst use three strikers.

but its a good one, keep it up!

You should never wait until your opponent runs into the red area shown in the video, I often tackle before then and I only concede 0-1 goals per game.

I have tried to master it all but switching players, keeping my defenders back but they are always pressing. The game is great but no matter how you see it the defending is shit as always. Toggle between manual switching and auto switching does not even work. I am in division 2 and always letting in goals no matter how well I structure my defence. BULLSHIT EA BULLSHIT!
