Yes, I love her character very much, too. Ms. Yumi Tamura wrote in one of her manga books(I think "Tomoe ga Yuku") that she feels she lacks courage and strength so she made Sarasa like that so we can all get encouragement from her. The Basara manga is so much more than just manga. It's like a philosophy book made into an entertainment. It's so much better than someone just saying "Come on, you can do it! Get up and go forward!" My heart bleeds for Sarasa. Everyone wants her brother, but not her. Sometimes I think of how her life would be if she ran away from home and never got involved with her family and village again. I don't know if that would have been better or not. But we definitely wouldn't have a story if she had. Still I wouldn't have been able to take the crap she took.
At some point, Shuri described Sarasa as a remarkable woman. And I totally agreed with him at that time. ˆ_ˆ
