So, is Lament of Innocence a small & linear game? Or is it long, non-linear like Symphony of the NIght with a lot of exploration & secrets to be solved?
I can’t say I liked GOW, so if this the same deal, I think I’ll pass…
And most importantly is this actually a “CastleVania” game?
@alxxz It is pretty similar to GoW except that you could return to stages that you previously gone to. At first you'll arrive in a castle, then there are about 4~6 portals (its been too long since I played it) that would send you into different places with bosses. There are secret, but not as much as SoTH, most of the secrets involve in searching for upgrades, there is a secret boss, and yes, it is a Castlevania game,
this game explains the origin of Dracula and Belmonts.
Does, LOL has better music than Lords of Shadow & COD? Do they all have any classic CastleVania remixed themes? So far I've only heard the music of the video trailers of LOS and I found it to be amazing, but I have not heard the ingame music.
And what about the other CastleVania game Curse of Darkness? How good is it and how does it compare to SOTN, GOW and the rest?
@alxxz I don't get to play Lords of Shadow until this Friday, so I can't tell just yet, by the time i finish it i'll let you know. CoD is a game that you'll forgot easily, to be honest, i got no idea what the story was about. No classic remixed on CoD but it has some of the best pieces, some even better than SotN to be subjective. gameplay wise similar to LoI but places are geographically connected together instead of travel by portals. A good game, but not a good Castlevania game.
@alxxz Sorry dude, forgot to tell you about the Lords of Shadow, perhaps you already found out yourself? Well, I can't finish Lords of Shadow, I was up to chapter 3 and got tired of it, so far no classic theme, and so far all i had been fighting are countless of Goblins, ridiculously uncreative enemies and repetitive actions just killed all my motivations to keep going. Well, if you havent tried it, I glad, if you're looking for Castlevania game, don't waste your money.
So it’s basically just another mindless GoW slah em up.No I have not tried LOS. And I don't think I'll be buying it any time soon. Actually I have not seen any game yet that would motivate me to buy an Xbox360,PS-3 or Wii yet, I was hoping LOS would be the one. Likewise with GoW, I got tired with it after the sunken trireme fleet and didn't play any further. I watched the walkthrough videos of LoI & CoD, but they did not fascinate me either. CastleVania died after SOTN imo.
@alxxz Well, I do enjoy AoS and DoS, I'm currently playing Castlevania Harmony of Despair, it might just be an arcade game but its a freaking good one in my own opinion, you can use Soma, Alucard, Shanoa, Jonathan, and Charlotte. Also with Julius, Yoko, and Maria as DLC. Its a 15 dollars arcade game but I spent more time on this game than any other xbox titles I owned.
@HasegawaMasato Yeh Lords of Shadows sucks da dick. There are some cool moments like the fight against Satan, but otherwise it doesn't feel gothic or creepy or castlevaniay. I also hate the GOW style button mash gameplay.
They should just make an epic non-linear CastleVania game like SOTN, all those CastleVania on the GBA & DS were sub-par compared to SOTN & Rondo of Blood and the previous on the SNES & NES.
@alxxz it isn't really linear all that linear as the first five stages are tackled via a hub acting as a stage select; its combat is combo based, but comparing it to god of war is a terrible idea; where god of wars falters (not giving anything you're doing meaning, focusing on weight and how cool something looks rather than defining a set of moves and giving them purpose), lament of innocence shines. its more like dmc than it is gow. there are quite a few secrets in the game, as well.

I can't believe I'm gonna say this, but...
THIS GAME IS OVER 9000 TIMES BETTER than the garbage called Lords Of Shadows.
Seriously, how Konami did it so bad. *facepalm*
