  • Gotta get me one after seeing that!

  • In Sweden they salt the roads = not so nice for the chassi and body in the long term + bigger and wider wheels arent optimal on winter roads, a Audi S4/Mitsubishi Evo beats a Porsche 911 Turbo easy on a ice/snow coverd road in terms of speed. Everything comes from a test, even a Mercedes Benz E 350 4wd beat the Porsche by almost 5seconds over a 800meter track!

  • GIVE ME ONE NOW!!!!! SANTA I WAS GOOD THIS YEAR :D

  • porsche are trash in the snow

  • Realy COOOOOL !!! It is looking as very funny drive !!! I love this video :-)

  • Hey, thats my office complex! Love seeing all the cool cars you guys bring back there.

  • 4x4

  • The only thing that limits the 911 in the snow is ground clearance. Just like a front dive car the weight of the engine sits over the wheels that drive the car. With a set of Blizzacks or something similar in quality these cars are truly incredible in the snow...

  • omg this looks so fun :)

  • @helicandra On my very steep Pa driveway, I would punch it in reverse and treat the rear weight by putting it in front. All 911's are worse then even a rear drive car in winter with the engine back of the rear wheels. Unless its a C4, I cant see how snows, even on all 4 wheels would help, then add in some hills or mountains and forgetaboutit.

  • I'd hate to drive it in the winter because of all the damn salt they put on the roads.

  • cool.

  • The reason people park their fancy sports cars in winter is to keep people driving pieces of junk from sliding into it!

  • @Truemoderate

This actually happened 1,5 week ago! Some fucked up Mitshubishi slided into the back of my 996 Carrera 4S... :S

  • Dumb.

  • So this is what happens when you let your friends borrow your 911 Carrera 4S in the winter.

  • what about an elephant with winter feet....would that work in the snow?

  • can you get away with driving a boxster with snow tires in the winter

  • Driving like this in town wouldn't be practical

  • @throttlelever Oh well.

  • that is what a wrx is for. cheap and fun and awd turbo fun in snow .

  • "michigan in winter can be a dark and depressing time..." as bright white snow falls lol...

  • Corollas are mad racers! love the torque offered by the potent 1,8 L engine. #1 in Canada or Asia over any Porsche. 105 hp are more than enuff in the snow.(The equalizer)

  • That looks like so much fun, a Carrera 4S in the snow, real dream job there.

  • Pffff wow... Michigan winter right... I come from quebec and I could Race this Porsche and win with my '96 Corrolla......

Hell, I drive like this to go to work!

  • Really??? Do you really think that your fwd pos Corolla would take a awd 911? In the snow of Quebec( notice the capital letter in the name of the province) or Northern Ontario, or snow anywhere?? how about on tarmac?? Do you really think your 1.8 liter could do anything other than get groceries and be fuel efficient?

  • Yep... I can dragrace a Porsche and win on tarmac... you know, this 1,8L engine has 105hp..... I mean, it's a lot and it's enough to smoke any exotic car... think about it..... 105hp!!!! This is one of the worls most powerfull engine, I can go from 0 to 100 (kph of course) in 15 seconds... this is fast as hell!!

  • doesn't anyone here have a sense of humor? barnakos is JOKING! any way, my '97 sentra has115 hp and would kick your corolla' ass!

  • Yeah you would kick my ass... But we would both do the 1/4 mile in over 25 seconds... Actually I would do it in 30 because my clutch disk is worn out... DUDE !! WE'RE LIVING ON THE EDGE!!!!

  • haha, and my civic with 127 will whoop ur sentra!

  • AWD PORSCHE > FWD COROLLA

  • it takes a lot of guts to take a 100k sports car sideways near a guardrail in the snow. nice!!!!

  • wrx is fun fun fun in dirt and i cant wait for snow .

fwd is awesome but my wrx is going to be fun

  • i hope you mean rwd

    fwd is the gayness

  • not really. i did fwd for many many yrs.. for my daily driver.. now. it is different than rwd. but just ask saab or BMC mini about fwd. they made many cars look silly in rallies. they just drive differently then rwd. very differently.still fun. ive awd wrx now. it is a riot

  • ... even more proof that Prosche is the best all around car in the world.

    Dare I say the best 4X4Xfar! :)

  • i think he crashed into some snow while they wer making this, if u look u can see lots of snow in the front grill, and huge patch on the back rear tail light.

  • a frog that can eat your face :)

  • lol thats funny

  • @andrehellm13 You're obviously not a Porsche purist. That iconic shape is why we love them so much! When that changes, it's the end of the world as far as I'm concerned.

  • funny... i know all the roads they drove on.. i drive them daily.... great car great roads!

  • dats a sweet road...ur a ucky 1

  • If its so good, why do they show it sliding all over the place?

  • AWD and snow tires wont make a car go in a straight line all the time

  • that would be soooo much fun :D

  • Nice car

  • I drive my evo 8 with snow tires all year. Its made for it so I put up with the salt. I lower the boost to make aprox 320whp to make it safer.

  • What tires do you use? Im using Dunlop 3D Wintersports, theyre decent on dry road

  • And I thought a porsche in the summer was an expensive hobby.

  • I second that If they have all season tires! My vette can't even get up my driveway in the snow with it's summer shoes on :)

  • Anybody in any car can hang the tail out around a snowy corner - that sure didn't convince me that it's good winter driver.

C&D, I wish you would have done a more serious assessment and left the horsing around to us amateurs :)

  • yeah u can hang the tail out in any car....but where will u be afterwards? lol. what they are saying is that its easy to control in the harshest of weather, especially snow.

besides, try hangin the tail out around a snowy corner in a FWD car or suv and come back and tell us how it went lol. If u live to tell about it lol.

  • I live in MI and I drift my FWD around snowy corners all the time, and it's a lot of fun, but I'd rather do it in the Porsche.

  • I have one of these and I still moved out of Michigan.

  • I want one.

  • its called drifting.

  • really, but I'm saying on a real road.

  • yeah, thats y those guys are pro drivers.

  • i'm saying for the average driver, not everyone on the road is a professional.

  • that does look really fun haha. Porsches are for women, but if I got one.. I would not complain.

  • a tiptronic boxster might be for a woman... but 911's are for men.

on a sidenote, someone told me people who own sports cars usually store their cars in the garage because the salt can mess up the underbelly of a car thus lowering resale value -- is this true? I thought most people didn't like driving in the snow because they'd fishtail like crazy, it's a driving liability is it not?

  • fun

  • Thats what i call fun in the snow

  • there is no more capable all-rounder than the new c4s with pdk

  • I guess you could say the same for a Lambo as well. I never really thought of it that way until after viewing this video.

  • huge price difference though and not much faster. but the lambo is way better looking

  • looks like you guys had fun driving like maniacs haha

  • cool
