  • "he drank ALL the water in the tap" ...really?

  • reminds me of my old teacher reading this too me.

  • Keep it P.G

  • The autor should write about the tiger robbing the two girl with their an make a run for it then lol

  • Is this you reading this?

    Man, you're brilliant!!

Seriously, have you ever thought about asking anyone about a job? And the voice of the tiger too!

    Amazing, just amazing :)

  • i saw a pic of a tiger and suddenly i remembered this story which i probably read 10 years ago lolll.

  • I loved this book when i was younger ^ ^ So happy right now :D

  • I loved this when i was younger :')

  • I never knew tigers were THAT tame

  • I always used to think Sophie's name was Sally.

  • i was read this book at nursery and i can still remember all the words :D i am so happy right now xD

  • tiger turned up after a phat joint

  • @RaviRageMusic word to mother and sophie's mum would get the dick with the quickness

  • great story..also check out 'timothy tickleskin' just hit on gypwin.

  • why is he playing the instument at the end?

  • I think I remember this book, not too sure though.

  • The Tiger drank ALL THE WATER IN THE TAP? WHAT?

No wonder he never came back... probably died from over hydration.

  • i lean it at school

  • all the grub all and dads beer suprised he was not lagging up the high street :-D

  • Yes, because you're really gonna let a talking tiger 'come round for tea' No, i dont think so

  • I thin

    that

    he

  • sophies mum has got it going on

  • I used to love this story :D But I never did understand, and still don't, why he's playing that instrument thing at the end??

  • I think he crossed the line when he drunk all daddies beer!!...lol

  • LMAO 1.24

    NOM!

  • used to loveee this book - my mum did better voices though :D

  • @catrintube my mom too

  • AWWWWW I had this book when I was a kid. I accepted it all, never occurred that a tiger would probably eat up a couple of humans.

  • isn't it strange how this sort of behaviour doesn't perturb you as a child lol

  • Ok i'll accept that tigers talk, i'll accept that they are bipedal and come to your house for tea, hell i will accept the tiger can talk, but where does the author come off to make us think that anyone sells TIGER FOOD at the store, that doesn't make any sense

  • The father sounds like David Cameron.

  • Wow the memories...!

  • Boy He was hungry, just out of curosity where did he come from?

  • "It can't be the boy from the grocerer as this isn't the day he cum's"

  • The tiger's a bit of a cock really.

  • I loved this book, such an odd concept though, tiger comes, tiger eats and drinks, they watch him eat and drink, he leaves, then they all go out to dinner. lol. I love it.

  • Tesco have just released their new tigers 'finest' range! Just incase that big, scavenging, fucking cat ever has the decency to pop back and, at the very least, thank them properly!

  • NOT ALL THE FUCKING SANDWICHES D:

  • I wish I could knock on doors and ask for tea like that.

  • omg i want to be in primary school again lol

  • The racism in this book is astonishing, really.

  • Haha i remember this, i loved it! the tiger randomly comes in their house, eats and drinks everything, and then just goes xD

Must be subliminally teaching kids not to smoke pot otherwise the munchies will take it's deadly toll.

  • Boy the tiger was very hungry.

  • Two things about this:

    1. how come the tiger did not eat them?

    2. Did the tiger escape from the zoo because you only get tigers in India.

  • I can't understand how I loved this as a child - it's brilliant, but how?

  • Amazing

  • I used to love this as a kid.

  • very stupid

  • That cat that looked like a tiger when the walk to the cafe was a major mindfuck for me as a child.

  • Comment removed

  • my little brother loves this..

    haha

  • This brings back some great memories!

  • haha

  • Sounds like Catherine Tate to me.

  • No, that's not Hattie Hayridge's voice reading..

    Sounds more like Meryl Anderson.

  • i love this

    this is the best ever!

  • Is that Hattie Hayridge's voice?

  • Now where do you get big tins of tiger food?

  • I love the narration of this book. It was beautifully done and would love to have a tiger over for tea

  • such a good book

  • "he took ALL THE SANDWHICHES"

    ... dick.

  • I wish the reader would take a sip of water to avoid that clicky sound!!!

  • "It can't be the milkman as he came this morning".

I bet he did. I wonder if Sophie knows who her dad REALLY is??

  • @sodiraq ROFL hahahaha! XD

  • @sodiraq lol

  • who knows of another story where a tiger comes in a house, except its a boy not a girl? and the tiger was bad

  • What is the actual point or morale of this story!

  • There are several morals for young children in this story:

    (1) Just because tigers look cute, doesn't mean they have a sense of social responsibility.

    (2) But they do know how to use tin openers (this is a technical skill, not a social one.)

    (3) Tigers also ignore societal norms and customs that suggest they should eat little children whenever they get the chance.

    (4) In a strongly patriarchic society, most problems are resolved (whether with good or bad consequences) by daddy coming home.

  • that is an awesome interpretation!

  • The Tiger sounded an awful lot like Sophie`s Daddy. Haha.

  • I love the tiger.

  • aww memories! the things i'd do to be 5 again!

  • i also remember dressing up as the tiger for book day in year 1 (now year 11) and i had a little red teapot lol! im might go to sainsburys now and buy some tigger food- never knew it existed :p

  • i remeber loving this book! still do :$ lol! thinking back why would you let a tiger come into your house :S

  • Is that david cameron reading the part of the tiger? =P x

  • rofl, loved this when I was a child, reading it now, it's one of the daftest and funniest thing ever!!!!!!!!! Excellent genius book.

    X

  • There making this into a play now.

  • Why didn't the tiger come back? D=

    Is he ok?

If the tiger was grey, he'd look like a big version of my cat oby.

  • I think maybe the food was terrible lol.. those sandwiches looked rubbish XD

  • this is... amazing. can you do 'five minutes peace'??

  • I agree, I loved five minutes peace, and the very hungry caterpillar!!!

  • Haha, I concur. This is a truely brilliant story. My favourite part is when the tiger manages to drink the world's entire supply of water...

  • I wish a tiger would come and eat your head

  • brilliant, you should do more.

  • wow! i remember my mum reading this to me!

  • My three year old daughter loved it.

  • aww thats so cute

  • you don't get any better then the tiger who came to tea, this is the best childrens story ever, big up to who ever put this on you tube

  • I loved this book when I was little!!!

  • Yeh damn that Tiger Woods eating all their food and water! Pig! Basically thats what you get for letting him just come in and roam free like that.

  • I found this extremely moving. It's a classic story of love, betrayal, and coming of age in contemporary society. The voices used were very appropriate.
