Thats right. Schumann is a romantic composer, but that not mean, all pieces to play slow and calm. A "Phantasietanz" or fantastic dance is a dance with esprit and power. So is it right, to play this peace with enegry like japa28 and not to play like a "sleeping-dance" such as a other player here on youtube.
ok thanks for your feedback. my teacher always taught me to play it as crazy fast as possible, so that's why it's that fast. i'll work on balance in volume between both hands.
i think this should be slower but that's still pretty good playing

You can play with spirit and power without losing the romantisism, I mean, still u need to feel the piece, not just play it.
And I agree with you that it shouldnt be played slow. When I said that the piece lacked emotion i didnt mean that he should play it slow and calm.

Not exactly 'crazy fast', but at a speed that gives people that feeling. I agree with your teacher, it should be played quickly. (schnell-quickly)
Bring out the melody in the left hand and less of the right hand, and definetely don't forget the dynamics. Exaggerate a little even.
I'm still working on this song :) thx to helpful comment from my teacher when I was learning it.

well, shumann wrote the song out in 2/4 time and the tempo as 104 so the song should actually be about that fast or so.
but oddly, the melody for fantastic dance is in the left hand so you'd have to play the left hand louder and the right hand quieter.
