You're absolutely right: the singing of these great bel canto specialists more than compensates for any video shortcomings. Although neither of their voices is at its prime, the singing standard is at an usually high level.

Finally a baritone who sings and doesn't worry about manly tone! De Luca was wonderful. Galli-Curci, as always, is a delight.
