@hypedpotential I don't know what you were reading/watching as a kid but there are really no contradictions in it whatsoever. Shonen Jump don't let their mangaka's release content that doesn't make sense, there is a heavy process of clearing things with other volumes of your work and talking with your editor to make sure there aren't any inconsistencies. Though some things can't be helped, such as I believe Akira forgot he named Mai already but he ended up just using Mai.
@DBZM1k3 hmm...there are too many examples of plot holes and "laws" of the DBZ universe that seem to change or do not compliment one another in a logical way. Yes it's an anime, but even as a kid I thought to myself that some of the plot holes didn't add up, or were ignored completely later on in the series. I'm not gonna list them, look them up if u want. P.S. I'm talking plot holes in the original Japanese dbz not the english dub's fault.

So in this movie, Goku was sent to earth, and Piccolo tried to control him, but he was also on earth 2000 years ago as Piccolo's servant? That makes no sense at all. How did they beat the previous Oozaru, and who was he? There was also absolutely no buildup to Oozaru, it as if Goku only became Oozaru because he was supposed to,in the series there was at least some minor foreshadowing.

He didn't know the story at all! Goku killed King Piccolo when he was like 14 or 15. He was never a good guy he was the evil side of Kami, he doesn't even seem to know that there were two Piccolo's. Fan my ass...

Now i know they might be talking about the plot of the movie but if they were to keep it true to the anime they should have all of the cast know what the real anime characters are all about. For him being a fan he really doesn't know what he's 100% talking about. In this interview he is about 90% right about the story from this interview. Overall hated the movie for te complete discrace of the characters and the whole high school thing. They need to do alot to make up for this with a sequal.

can some one please tell them that the source material of him basing the anime with what he said was absolutely wrong. He was a good guy but now hes bad because he was trapped? since when is that close to the anime. In dragonball kami to purify himself split in two thus creating an evil piccolo "demon king piccolo" (not sure why they call him lord piccolo) Also Goku had to face alot before his 18th birthday (aka red ribbon army) and he fights piccolo when hes 15 not 18.

Went 2 the cinema 2 see it expecting really high hopes 4 it & how wrong was I MY GOD IT WAS BAD!!!!! Yes, DBE sucked. EVERYONE says so. I didn't see it for that reason. BUT I'll wait till they cast Vegeta (if the rumoured sequel does include him) THEN I'll judge. If Vegeta is cast wrong, it would be more terrible than Goku being cast wrong. lol
I must say though, from the preview - James does a good voice of Piccolo. Plus he represents the story of Dragonball well. I mean, despite the bad reviews, the cast have done a good job praising the original Anime - which, afterall, is a good thing.

Fuckin' movie was terrible. No studio should even attempt to bring an anime into live-action, especially not Dragonball, we're just not ready. Plus, when the director doesn't even know what (s)he's making a live-action movie about when (s)he's hired... well, that's just retarded.
