a better way would be to tape the paper down to the surface you painting on over the gun do a coat let it dry do another then to the other side so you don't have to try to match it up most likely you will mess it up

@MintyHippo76 It will not, I'm about to do it right now, and just to be safe, I am taking the gearbox out of it so it doesn't get damaged. Even if it did get some paint on it I highly doubt it would do anything negative performance wise.

@MintyHippo76 You can just use Masking Tape to cover the vital parts such as the barrel, motor etc.

If you really don't want to paint it but want camo then you can get camouflage tape cheap in some places, some even stick to itself so you wont leave any residue marks

DONT FOLLOW THESE DIRECTIONS!!! The fool forgot to explain that if this was a gun he was going to actually shoot, he would have had to strip the receiver of internals and the trigger/bolt. Paint on internal parts will cause the gun to cease! Do not do this to any gun you with you use. If you want to paint it do nit properly and strip the gun down first!

@LBVentertainment Its not the same, obviously you have never spent hundreds on a rifle and then done your "camo painting" to it. It would have trashed your nice gun for a dumb reason. And though tape may work most of the time, its not worth the risk to a real gun. I have seen paint run under tape plenty of times, both spray painting items and painting rooms in a house. Its not perfect. Do it right, strip it down, sand the surfaces, AND USE HIGH TEMP PRIMER AND PAINT not this cheap shit he uses.

@nillis32 Uh, obviously you have never built a gun from a flat receiver. It must be painted or given some type of coating for durability or rust and corrosion is imminent. So its probably more than .01 percent. I wouldn't put it past a few redneck friends of mine to build a flat AK receiver and put tiger camo on it. But they would know better to paint a gun with internals in it. If your building it, you paint before you begin building the internals. Hope that clears things up.

The reson that there is sticky stuff is that you must've used METAL paint, you have to look for one at Lowes or Home Depot they have ones that are plastic safe.

You have your tiger stripes the wrong way XP Only with red or blue do you go up and down because it looks better-with real camo it has to go lengthwise, so it blends with the shadows cast from trees

Lolwut? With tigerstripe you have to know how to position yourself so that the shadows match up. And yes they line up vertically on the ground meaning it looks like that on the gun too.

well sand the plastic so its scored and the paint will stick better and less chance of flakeing

Or you could use liguid deglosser then clean it up with an approved agent with the paint you are using to remove any oils, then spray it with some adhesion promoter paint and then lay down all your actual paint. If you do it like that it won't rub off, or flake off at all. Proper prep makes the finish results how they should be.

If you use a spray that is right for plastics, and let it dry properly, it should be fine.

If there are any obvious holes in the gun, it might be a good idea to cover them up first.

no, it made my gun feel a little ruff at first, but after i used it, the paint wore down smoother. But i never got a sticky gun after.
