If i was Vince McMahon, i would have Waltman as a wrestler at least for a year, so he would teach a thing or two to Kingston and Ryder...I think Waltman has still a great match left in him
Two different eras of wrestling, they had to evolve to compete with WCW. and them hardcore matches were equally as interesting as these technical matches
@StephonWallace Maybe it's just me, there's a better wrestling quality in these matches. Most of the hardcore matches were brawls with absolutely no psychology. I've always prefered a good technical match over a hardcore match.
not to deny him anything but i was never a fan of bret. i loved the kid even before he joined wwe. in this match he sells absolutely beautifully. definitely worth watching just to see that.
This was the greatest match ever (ok maybe not the best ever but its up there) Its was awesome because we all know that Bret can wrestle a couch and make it look good, but not too many people can showcase Brets ability. Waltman did an outstanding job
This was X-Pac's (1-2-3 Kid's) best match. And I wish more wrestlers were like Brett and show good sportsmanship. Randy Orton could've called the match back when Christian had is foot on the rope during their match. But the wrestlers of today are sissys. Wrestlers like Brett put in overtime in their matches, not just showing up every week.
@festus2999 no shit sherlock! I'm guessing you want to inform that the sky is blue and the grass is green. Shut the fuck up. I know wrestling is determined by the writers. I've been watching wrestling for years.. But instead of being a bigot like you who only likes to think of wrestling being just one big script. I choose to play along with the storylines and have a good time.
@james14399 umm so it took you three months to write a reply for me... and how should i know that watch you wrestling for years is it written in your username? and it doesn't matter if you watching wrestling in 10 years or 1 year, that doesn't make you smarter than other people you fag
@festus2999 haha looks like someone has been waiting for me. Well unfortunately I got bored enough one day to check my comments and saw your comment. I thought I'd reply Plus what you're saying now is irrelevant to what the initial argument is about. Calling me a fag? Oh yeah, good joke if your between the ages 5-18. Lol Homophobic jokes are so played out. You probably would never have the balls to call an actualy gay person a fag in front of their face I bet. Internet Thug.
@festus2999 Mom jokes? How lame can you be. I'm pretty sure the only pussy you have ever been close to is the one you was born out of haha... But what does my mom have to do with this match? lol I know you're probably young and dumb, we all were at one point of our lives. But ATLEAST try to stay on topic. okay? lol You can do it sport!
@doeyjoey75 lol I wish I was a virgin. Like really I do. Getting pussy isn't the best thing in life. I rather live life without worrying about catching an STD or getting chick pregnant..lol
i remember this match like it was yesterday, it was a favorite of mine, I WISH SOMEHOW SOMEWAY he could have won the title for at least 1 week, he was young fresh OVER and he came from jobber to one of the most popular guys, WHAT A FREAKIN shame that he never held a singles title until wcw, their he was us champ for christs sakes, not until he returned as xpac did he get the ic title. THIS match proves HE DERSERVED a world title run. HE TOOK the legend to the limit, the best wrestler at the time
This match is a great illustration of Bret's versatility. Say if Michaels took Bret's place, we'd know exactly what to expect. It would be a disappointment if Shawn didn't to try to beat Waltman at his own game while we wait for some flips. The only intrigue would be in the action. Here the viewer has no idea what tactics Bret should use, and against this opponent Bret proves to be more menacing than a man twice his size when he goes on the offensive. Bret's presence is just overwhelming.
this was raw at its best, when it was live and exclusive to smaller venues like the mid hudson civic centre, fernwood resort, struthers fieldhouse, and the manhattan centre...
@fl061280 not like Waltman, Waltman unlike those you named and all of anybody who has been in the ring with him has a good adaptabillity to anybody's style. Around this time he was called the Barrometer of wrestling, Meaning if you couldnt work with Kid you couldnt work at all.
@ELIMINATORRRR How should you know if you didbt know im German Anyways im trying to Catch up to all the Classic Matches I only can Remember back to Wrestlemania 8 1 2 3 Kid was one of my Heroes when i was a Child i loved his Kung Fu Karate Moves Really thank God for Youtube All those Great Memories
@Zappafan1980 Ok chill out i get your point about being German, Wtf Kung Fu Karate Moves? lol fair enough and i agree youtube is awsome for recaping Memories.
This is Bret at the peak of his in-ring powers. I feel bad for young fans who never saw the Hitman at his best. He's easily one of the five best wrestlers of all time, and probably top 3.
Best Bret Hart match! The best part was the interview after where Bret said he went out there to teach the kid a lesson and the kid actually taught him one. Classic
He has some issues with Vince McMahon. But he absolutely belongs in the HOF. Freak out, freak out! BTW, Black Machismos segments with Hogan in TNA are funny, nostalgia comedy gold!
I really liked him and his style back then. But I thought his ringname/gimmick was kinda silly and it sounded like a four year old came up with it. Even Sean himself hated it.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
hahaha "request by hit man". Mr Hart, this match was sold you were suppose to win, whether you want it or not, the referee made a foul from hismelf for you he can hear and see you showing him the leg was on the line but still he shows you he counted 3, the match been sold, here is when Bret started to mess with the showowner plans and later on been removed from the show. sorry!
