Joseph, thanks for sharing your talent and musicianship... This is BEAUTIFUL!!! Please keep up the good work(s), as we need all the pleasant music we can get. It's a real pleasure to listen to your offerings. Frank Warner
Hey ... my friend..ahhhh so enjoyable...the finest version I ever heard of this song....gives me power to go into the christmas-time..what means for me 6 hours a day christmas-songs...LOL...It´s really very nice...I like very much your ideas...see you dear Joseph
Wow, another beautiful one! Your tuning is so spot on that I first thought it was a MIDI file. You're gonna need to slip up a little so we know you are human. :) Just kidding. Great job. Great arrangement! Thanks again for sharing!
Thanks, Jeff. I've been accused more than once of my saxophones being MIDI's. I'm starting to take it as a compliment in a weird sort of way...*laugh*
Haha. As far as I'm concerned it is definitely meant as a compliment, not because that was your desire to sound like a MIDI file, but because you are in a very small group of musicians who is accurate enough to be mistaken for a computer! :)
I have to give Brubeck the credit for the musical interpretation on this one, but I did put a lot of work into adapting it for saxophone ensemble. I was happy with the results though, and I can't always say that. (I'm my own worst critic sometimes).
I'm glad you enjoyed it, my friend. I hope all is well for you and yours.
Actually doing pretty well. In my 6th week of recovery and almost there. Last catheter removed and making normal adjustments. Next will be exercising and regaining my strength so I can resume practicing. :-)
Never ceases to amaze me. Sounds spectacular. Great intonation too otherwise it wouldn't work, and we ALL know how hard it is to keep good intonation with that instrument.
Thanks, Professor. I try not to ask too much of myself these days, but the day that I can no longer play in tune is the day that I'll give it up for good. A lot of things can be forgiven when it comes to music, but poor intonation isn't one of them, so thanks for noticing. ~smile~
Hi CJ, I second the sound quality issues here on youtube, I even "mix" to suit it (it is free though and a GREAT resource) This sounds great even here though, which is a testament to your arrangement and playing. 5 stars without doubt
Thanks, Matt. Depending on how it's uploaded, the &fmt=18 extension sometimes gives a decent stereo result, but in this case the youtube compression made the &fmt=18 version really terrible so the basic mono version is actually better. Instead of improving, youtube's compression methods just get worse and worse. I'm sure I'd get better results if I had a real microphone to work with instead of this cheap computer voice mic, but I really shouldn't complain considering that it was under $20.

BTW, thank you for your referral to the Brubeck's version. I didn't know that while it's definately worth listening to.

Thank you very much, Manuel.
I sympathize with you about the 6 hours a day of Christmas music, but at least it's a job...and a rewarding one hopefully...right?
Cheers!

Your virtual orchestra is fantastic!!! I like your arrangements very much. I prefer your music, instead of the traditional one.
Thank you so much.
