I actually think it's a great film, extremely hilarious. At least up until the whole fish poisoning part. Then it all goes downhill rapidly.

But up until that part it's amazing, and the "Candle In The Eye" bit always makes me wince as it's been filmed that well it winds up looking like Mayall actually got the candle in the eye during filming.

Yeah, had they kept to the main Bottom style throughout it would've been even better. The live Bottom shows are much, much better than this. Though I'll happily watch this again and again (Well, up until they start serving the fish, at which point I stop caring again lol).

Oh yeah, that's definitely what they seemed to be trying for... but it just seemed almost shoehorned into the end. I feel the movie as a whole dies almost the very second the boyfriend turns up, as it all seems downhill from there.
