  • IBM had voice to text down since a long time ago

  • Period...hahahaha

  • And not this comes with every Windows machine!

  • I miss my Wang!!

  • this shit kills iphone 4S SIRI

  • I Study on this type of computer, the Texas Instrument-PC

  • What if you tried to say period like, "She's on her period."

would it say "she is on her."

    :3

  • Okay? So why can't Windows 7 understand a single word I say?

  • I WANNA CUM ON HER FACE SOOO BAD, SOOOOOO BAD!!!!!!!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • I learned to whack off to this chick back in the day..

  • FAIL!

  • on the cum pewter scream

  • @zekonja24 I hope you enjoyed making that comment, because nobody enjoys reading it. lol

  • Cheesy 80s background music.

  • One must've had to talk like a 50s movie indian for a 286 computer to process one's speech.

  • Guys, her name is Kristen Meadows as known as Victoria 'Tori' Lane Capwell from the best soap opera ''Santa-Barbara'' :)

    P.S. Hello from Russia ;)

  • @AntonyGothicPotato bahahaha You would be Russian! I actually remember my mom watching Santa-Barbara when I was really little. It was like the hottest show in Moscow in the early 90s

  • Siri's Grandmother was pretty hot.

  • Siris will tear ur ass up gurl better run

  • Period...

  • Beat up Martin.....Eat up Martha.

  • @mrdelriego lol simpsons ftw!

  • IBM FTW

  • @randomguy573984 IBM WTF?

  • And the iphone is just now bragging about Siri... LOL this has been around since 1986

  • She's kind of sexy...I mean computer of course

  • IBM Siri :D

  • @12305maciek No :D

  • What a lie. Even today PCs can't do that.

  • @Fervorum Of course they can

  • Aren't they still trying to sell this crap? I think they just call it Dragon Voice Recognition now...

  • When is this coming out!!!!

  • Siri!

  • I hear some subtile Isaac Hayes "Shaft" in that music... and that woman.... pretty seductive ad lol

  • better than siri

  • its like the early version of kinect

  • And still voice recognition is impractical.

  • that's siri back in 86

  • Ok, now try that with a redneck!

  • That 70's Show!

  • @Nostalgichopes what do you mean?

  • @SRNF She looks alot like Donna's hot mom on "That 70s Show".

  • @Nostalgichopes true....i love that show. My fav show ever ;)

  • Matrix

  • powerful

  • From this, to Watson.. can you see how those projects are still related? :P

  • I wonder if that girl is still hot. Probably not.

  • @SRNF

She is like in her 50's now. Maybe grand kids.

Females are only good until about 25.

  • @dinnerandashow Males too.

  • 25 years later, and voice recognition is still shlock. Gentlemen, we are truly living in the future.

  • I miss those green CRTs!

  • @den2003 They didn't all display in green. Some displayed in emerald.

  • @den2003 If you miss them, I recommend getting yourself an Apple IIe.

  • @TeamRocketReviews Get a Lisa instead. Its the best Apple product in the world ;)

  • @SatanicalEve I prefer the Apple IIgs. My second fav computer ever, first being Commodore 64.

  • FAKE!!

  • Does it type out her stupid gasps as well??

  • Speech recognition is just as shitty now as it was in 1986--for dictation. It's less time consuming to train a Mexican gardener to write middle English in calligraphy than train Dragon Naturally Speaking.

  • shes the dumb mom bitch from taht 70s show holy fuck ahaha

  • so where do i plug my ipod in at

  • @legolover7777 sure it did fanboy

  • why get an iPhone 4S when you could could just buy an IBM

  • What r u guys talking about??? We have had this since Windows XP or even earlier...

  • клас =)

  • i guess, that apple stole the software from ibm, and made siri..

  • If I said Nigger.......would it write it for me?

  • Siri................Hahaha

  • BROUGHT TO YOU BY DRAGON SOFTWARE, THANK YOU FOR LISTENING TO NPR

  • Captions says:"Through the weekend. Russia of those who do. It's also that they still have a remarkable research project and i do and this is an experimental computer system recognize this last day. I thought and my words appear primamerica computer. Evidence that cabin area hasn't birds. Even difference between words that sounded like and taking lives rods are made. These right to missus right right."

I guess google should give IBM a call, looks like they were doing amzing things in '86.

  • i find this easy to masturbate to

  • @Palillos1337 hahahhaha

  • @Palillos1337 Ya until she says PERIOD.

  • Yet, watson can't understand speech...

  • nice girll xD

  • @Stoettax Oh trust me, her vag probably smells like dumpster today. LOL.

  • @Phenomental1ty

    Today xD

  • @Stoettax loooool

  • @Stoettax

right. she must be 50 Years. Not realy nice anymore xD

  • Fuck Mrs. Wright! I hate that bitch!

  • Too bad voice recognition is STILL in the process of being made usable.

  • @dedpxl Its in the process of being perfected... many android phones have it and now the iphone 4s does too with siri. I have it on my android phone and it works unexpectedly well.

  • She's hot!

  • For lols turn on Youtube's 'transcribe audio', click on the CC on the bar at the bottom of the video.

Looks like Youtube needs to upgrade to IBM AT's..

  • @TheBugleBum lololololol "...AND ITS TIME TO PERIOD."

  • @TheBugleBum Lolled! Thanks!!

  • I want a screen like this!

  • this is still a beta

  • Who is the spokeswoman?

  • Probably still is D:

  • I wonder if any of the people working on this eventually went on to create Watson

  • Is that the chick from Airplane!?

  • Who is the lady?

  • want to come on her

  • Nothing compared to google voice search

  • LOL@Lousypenguin

  • Good luck understanding the Scottish accent

  • I wish the Nokia voice dialing was that accurate...

  • I remember this commercial. Who is the actress?

  • Computers of today can easily do this. But what's the point? Why should we have to talk to our computers (having to clearly enunciate the words, and disturbing those around us) when we can point and click with a mouse or type on a keyboard? The most useful thing I see for this technology is using it for word processors. Instead of typing long reports, we can read them to our computer. But MS Word doesn't have that yet, unfortunately.

  • I...sound...like...a...robot

  • Threesounds if wards period

  • "This is the experimental computer system" GAAAAAAAAASP "that recognizes what I say." GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAASP "It's from IBM."

  • Hmmm, so if you say "period" it writes an actual period, but what if you wanted it to write the word out?

  • @kalinga01 Yeah, I wanna about that too.

  • @ConfusedSponge Yeah, I wanna know about that too.

  • hey apple! hey apple

  • well google translator kinda has this but every other word i say registers as New York

  • Hey... ITS WINDOWS VISTA!!! :D

  • bwahaha the computer is stupid. it put a dot instead of "period"

  • man... fucking FAIL biz propaganda!

  • IBM couldn't innovate their way out of a paper bag in the 80s. The PC was nothing more than a collection of bargain basement parts held together with primitive ideas and the only reason it won was a combination of brand snobbery, and being so crude anyone with a pulse could crank out knockoffs.

  • @doritostheking Agreed that was a gimmick, but IBM/Compatibles were probably the most powerful home system money could buy. They were just way too expensive. Most other systems of that time were low-powered breadboards in comparison.

  • @beefheart22 Utter nonsense. EGA graphics on an IBM compatible was considered high end. Meanwhile, in the amiga camp... And I'm not even going to mention the pathetic (lack of) audio capabilities.

  • @doritostheking

Are you trying to compare an '84 IBM PC to what Amiga came up with '89-'90? I think that's what you are trying to do here. Btw-- VGA was rolled out in 1987... ...on an IBM. Yes, the first Amiga ('85) had more colors than EGA when it came out in '85, but it didn't blow our hair back the way VGA did 2 years later. But don't let the facts get in the way of your 'I hate IBM' story.

  • @z1975ss Nope, Pure amiga OCS vs EGA. 64 Colour halfbrite max overscan vs EGA's mode with the most colours, which is what? 16 in 320x200? Pathetic. We have more on screen than the EGA standard knows exists!

  • Whoah...I have not seen a commercial from the mid 80's of this quality! Was this transferred from a high quality super vhs?

  • Period.

  • you have a pirdy mouth ;)

  • wow...computers of today dont even do this!!

  • @girlstorm09 They do, use Microsoft Office and a mic!

  • @girlstorm09 You have Windows Vista or 7? Type in Speech. I bet you didn't even know you had that feature.

  • @girlstorm09 Oh yes, it does. Use Dragon Naturally Speaking, and your pc do what you say!

  • @girlstorm09 yeaaaa

  • @girlstorm09 it call dragon naturally speaking

  • @girlstorm09 They can, but in some cases you need to install a program that can do so.

  • @girlstorm09 Open the voice control panel in Windows Vista/Windows 7. It has dictation built in, people just don't know about it.

  • @girlstorm09 today`s computers do not do that, nor tomorrow ones, but software......!

  • @girlstorm09 the iphone does! xD

  • @girlstorm09 Actually, Windows can do this .... With software addition. Speech recognition program has been part of Window since Windows XP or maybe earlier.

  • @rilham2new but can XP write mrs. wright right now? I don't think so.

Iris (Android's Siri ripoff app) on my phone just said it couldn't help me, because it was never much of a writer. Success - it spewed out some sarcasm because I didn't say text, don't know a Mrs. Wright, and I'd be redundant saying "right now" unless I was telling the kids to clean their room.

  • @girlstorm09 actually they do windows 7 does

  • @girlstorm09 yes they can on windows vista / 7

  • The lady in this commercial is a FUCKIN FUCKFACE FUCKNECK DICKN+HEAD ROTTEN TOOTH "WATCH THIS" SAYIN' BITCH.

    Kunkfuck.

  • better than any computer now, ahahah

  • To grab this mp3 go to audioripit doht cohm.

  • We haven't come a long way yet though..... I imagined if this was 1986, we'd be conversating with computers nowadays...

  • @RicardoMusch

But how would you discretely search for porn?

  • @KiloByte69

Microsoft fixed that... Have you seen how you can steer your mouse with a mic in Windows 7? Say "Mousegrid" and toggle the onscreen keyboard on... you can now discretely search for porn... :X

  • I have one of those IBM ATs in my collection with the green screen, and even the optional monitor base. Mine has the 102 key enhanced keyboard though rather than the original 84 key.

  • i would like to kiss those lips

  • @weiwei6969 Probably already a grandma today.

  • This was my first computer in the 80's

  • Anyone know who that actress is?

  • Is this magic? I'm scared!!!

  • Why did computers of old always look like crap?

  • @fatriff IBMs did. Commodores didn't. Ataris didn't. Apples didn't.

  • @doritostheking

Commodore brought the computer to the masses not the classes. And their machines typically offered more bang for the buck then typical PC's did. The C64 had a whopping huge amount of ram for its time when it came out. And it sold like hot cakes for over ten years. No computer has done that since and likely never will.

  • @summer20105707 You just agreed with me. Read what I replied to, jesus christ.

  • @doritostheking

Hey relax relax. I didn't get time to read all the comments. No problem. Were on the same page.

  • My IBM Aptiva 2144 A14 had voice recogition to operate the computer. Thought that was very fascinating.

  • I bet IBM thought we'd all be talking to our computers in the few years that followed.

  • @slugnbozo its funny we don't even talk on our phones today .. we all text lolz
