  • you need sodium nitrate. be careful whit it 1 gram per pound

  • just a tip, cut your meat 2 times smaller than that, to about 1/8 inch thick, thats way to thickk man, just telling you. ive got some deer jerky in right now off of an 8 point i shot last saturday (opening day of gun season) :D

  • looks like a fail to me :D

  • @muftare

thanks, i did it over the weekend and it was really good. my older brother considers it to be the best jerky he has had and all my mates at school loved it as well.

    Thank you

  • Good video...That looks like a good method.

  • He sort of sounds like the nerdy scientist guy off the simpsons lol no offense good job man making jerky right now!

  • LOL

  • @BrendanJuel if my calculations are correct he should have given better directions

  • i use a newwave oven to dehydrate mine. it takes 1 1/2 hours to dry 1/2 inch slices

  • i cook mine on 200 degreed for 2 1/2 - 3 hours. but yours is alottt thicker than the size of my jerky. i cut mine alot thinner. i put mine on a broiling pan with cracks in it so the juice will fall through into the pan below it. works pretty nice.

  • I dry mine on the valve covers on my 72 Gremlin. Takes about 2 hours idlei'n and bout 1 hour driving up the loggin road to git firewood !! She holds bout 1/2 cord and the jerkey's done round trip, now that is multi taski'n..

  • u sound old

  • looks hard.

  • not to hard but real dry

  • Are you supposed too keep the oven door open to dry rather than cook? and for how long in the oven thank you......

  • I left the door closed for 6 to 7 hours got dry enough it might have cooked to long

  • finished off the last today no ill effects
