just a tip, cut your meat 2 times smaller than that, to about 1/8 inch thick, thats way to thickk man, just telling you. ive got some deer jerky in right now off of an 8 point i shot last saturday (opening day of gun season) :D
thanks, i did it over the weekend and it was really good. my older brother considers it to be the best jerky he has had and all my mates at school loved it as well.
i cook mine on 200 degreed for 2 1/2 - 3 hours. but yours is alottt thicker than the size of my jerky. i cut mine alot thinner. i put mine on a broiling pan with cracks in it so the juice will fall through into the pan below it. works pretty nice.
I dry mine on the valve covers on my 72 Gremlin. Takes about 2 hours idlei'n and bout 1 hour driving up the loggin road to git firewood !! She holds bout 1/2 cord and the jerkey's done round trip, now that is multi taski'n..
I just had a wild idea how about beef jerky as a new diet food I mean the home made kind.
It is low fat takes a long time to chew swells up in your gut to take up more space to end the hunger pains .I would appreciate any commits by qualified people I will be going on a jereky diet after I talk it oveR with my doctor stAY TUNED
